I'm so sorry I miseed this over the weekend. We were in the mountains for DH's company Christmas party. Open bar Friday and champagne with the other owners Sat night before dinner. We are living the high life now.

Damn it, I should have been here friday night....We celebrated Dad's end of Chemo by getting completely shithoused. And by we, I mean Dad, DH, and me. Mom went to bed, and sister/brother/BIL/nieces all went to their accommodations (DH and I get the guest bed at condo because we visit the most).

DH, Dad, and I had 4 more bottles of wine on top of what was previously consumed with sibs. I also had two bourbon and cokes....with Basil Hadens. If you've never tried bourbon, I warn you- Basil Hadens will ruin most other bourbon for you, particularly the cheaper stuff.

There were jokes, there was bullshitting, there was Dad calling me the "dipshit lawyer" though eventually he couldn't raise the effort to call me the "lawyer" part any more. There's me calling him the "jackass doctor" both of us grinning throughout. DH just kept pouring and drinking. Dad would cut me off and say he needed to say something to "HIS SON (DH)".

I know Dad did a lot of shit/got away with a lot of shit in his youth. But I learned quite a bit more that night. Some of this is epic. Some is not precisely legal, but is more "boondock saints" style not legal than anything else. I also heard a few things about my mom, and my dad's relationship with her, that had me looking for brain bleach. Not finding any, DH poured me another glass of wine.

Can we all plan/arrange to be on the knot, on a thread like this, on a specific day at a specific time? I've a feeling the thread would get extra awesome....

ETA: Saturday Morning, Mom was ridiculously overly chipper. She laughed at all three of us. We glared, and I demanded the aspirin bottle, as DH kept whacking my arm in bed to make me get up and find it and water.

I was around all weekend, recovering from 2 company Christmas parties in 2 days. I was up until after 4am on Friday trying to get more pages of my wedding album done.

@JCBride2015 Your FI likes me because I bring booze AND I don't find any of the stuff he says to be overly weird. That's apparently why a lot of people like me!
