    FI has some pretty awesome stories. The girl he dated right before me was so completely insane. After he and I started dating, she would say/do whatever she could to try to get his attention. She texted him and told him that she was in the hospital for trying to commit suicide (which wasn't true because she was actually with a mutual friend when she texted that, and the mutual friend told FI it was all made up, which he pretty much already knew because apparently her favorite thing ever was to lie). 

    Then she asked him if she could have one of his mom's cats. His mom was not in the market to be getting rid of any cats; they're like her babies. But this girl wanted one of them. And actually asked if she could have one.

    Then she went through every single one of his facebook photos and commented with a compliment like "wow what a handsome guy" etc. 

    When he didn't respond to any of her nonsense, she sent him a long hate-filled facebook message about what a terrible person he was. 

    Then we were at FI's friend's apartment for a birthday party, and I'm standing outside talking to someone, I look over, and out of nowhere crazy girl is standing right next to me just smiling at me! She lived several hours away, was not invited to the party, but somehow found out it was going on and knew FI would be there so she just showed up, (I'm guessing recognized me from facebook photos?) sought me out, and came straight to me, and then just stood there smiling at me. It was fucking weird. I went inside to get away from her and she followed me. I went up to FI and he said to me "Shit I see her, she's coming right for me! What do I do?!" so I grabbed his face and started kissing him as a means to deflect Miss Crazy and it worked. She left. The weird thing was she had brought her new "boyfriend" with her and had made him stand outside alone and wait while she went to look for me and for FI, and the poor guy looked miserable. 

    After this, she sent another raged out facebook message to FI about "How could you kiss your girl when you know I'm around, you fucking asshole!" Um because I'm his girlfriend and sometimes we kiss and our lives don't revolve around you? (They had broken up like 6 months before FI even met me because she was cheating on him and dumped him for some other guy) 

    Finally FI just said to her "I love Novella. You and I are done. It's time to leave me alone." Neither of us ever heard from her again after that.

    I've got a dating/post dating nightmare... 

    When I was a Jr in college, I was a freshman RA.  I was recently out of a long term relationship.  I started dating one of my freshman residents.  Looking back on it it was probably just out of convenience.  

    Well the kid was crazy:
    -He wouldn't sleep at night half the time
    -He LOVED, and I mean beyond any normal persons' level of enjoy, horror movies and video games
    - but then claimed they gave him nightmares
    -He would suggest some questionable things in the bedroom
    -He started lying to myself, his mother, and all his classmates about classes
    -He also claimed he had either ADD or ADHD

    Apparently he hadn't done as well first semester as anyone thought.  He ended up either dropping or being kicked out of a few second semester classes, but kept attending them like nothing ever happened.  

    The hallway was a learning community, so they were all engineering majors and had the same sets of classes.  Well his classmates came to me and told me about this.  And around the same time, HIS MOM was contacting me asking if I knew anything.

    We were together for about 6 months total. We had some good times (and I won't lie, he was good in bed).  Well the summer comes around, and he moved back home.  We would talk and I went to visit him a few times, but he cancelled two sets of plans to visit me.  He finally leaves me a voicemail one night to break it off (I had been over it for a while but was going to do it in person).

    I get a phone call about a month later that his name was in the paper... 
    IN A CHILD MOLESTATION CASE

    Now FI and I had legitimately JUST started talking at this point and this threw me for a total loop! But FI was great about it and making me realize that I would never have known and its not a refection on me that he is such a vile human being. 

    I try to suppress that time in my life as best I can, but at least I can deal with it now.  Although I still get a little more worked up than normal about child molester jokes.

    Yea... it was a crazy moment that summer when I got a phone call about that newspaper article. 

    But apparently he had a conscious because a few months after that he texted me and told me he would explain the whole thing if I wanted.  I politely declined and have been happily with FI ever since.  Although if anyone has seen the story of how FI and I met, apparently crazy dating stories were my thing that summer.

    Yeah I wouldn't want an explanation either. The less to know about that, the better! Makes my skin crawl.

    Not NEAR as bad as your story @okulew29, but I dated a guy once who got arrested for manufacturing meth at his house. I flipped my shit and ended things immediately, and I was the 'selfish, cold-hearted bitch' for not wanting to continue things with him.

    I guess it all worked out for him because I heard he got married about 3 months about we stopped dating. I definitely dodged a bullet there.

    I've had a lot of horrible dates. A few come to mind....

    I went on a few dates with a guy and had another planned. We worked in the same building. The budding relationship ended when I met his pregnant wife leaving their surprise baby shower....

    I met a guy on an online dating site (don't remember which) and arranged to meet at a local bar. After waiting 20 minutes I get a message from him saying that he left because I wasn't as hot as he expected.

    Another online dating site leads to a date meeting at another local bar. Things seem ok until he tells me that he's trying to get me drunk so I'll go home with him. I laugh it off. Wrong. Apparently he wasn't joking.

    Date with a coworker. I wasn't terribly interested but I was about to quit and he was kinda cute. We grab a drink and it's fine. He makes a huge, loud fuss when I refuse to go home with him. My friend owned the bar and had him escorted out of the place. It was ugly.

    I did phone dom work for a while and, for reasons I can't fathom, I agreed to a date with a guy I met through work. I thought he seemed great- successful lawyer, well read, etc. Date went beautifully until he got angry that I wouldn't let him suck my toes in a bar. Classy guy...

    I'm appalled at how many other stories I have. I'm so glad I'm done dating!

    Haha yeah I used to always say it would be so much easier to be a lesbian until I started hearing stories about FI's exes. Besides the one I posted about above, there's 2 more that were just as crazy. Yikes.

    I remembered one other awful one. This one I dated 8 months.

    So we started dating in October. He worked a very set schedule. Daytime then Mon/Wed/Fri a second job and he had "me time" on Sundays. Which, worked for me because I worked 60-70hr weeks with my job. So over time, I noticed that he never had me over to his house. His excuse was he had moved in with his buddy before we started dating and was preparing to move out again and his friend lost his job. So he had to stay in the apt so his friend didn't lose the apt. So he didn't have a bedroom and it was "embarrassing" for me to come over and not have a place to relax. I understood, but was always a little on my toes. 

    The next thing was he started driving this random new car. My brother is a cop in another state so I asked him to totally break the rules and see who the car belonged to. It belonged to him and another woman. I asked him about it (because I was slightly crazy back then as well) and he said "I bought the car from my roommate but it was his mom car. To keep an insurable interest in the car, I left her name on the title. And I'm paying off her car loan on it." I bought it. Totally. My BS meter was not as great then as it is now. 

    Final straw was in May of the following year, when we were coming back from sky diving. We were driving right by where he "lived". I told him I would drop him off. He FLIPPED. "No no. You can just drop me off at the WalMart. I need to get stuff." He started furiously texting someone while I was driving. Then he started in with the "Please drop me off at the grocery store. I need to get groceries for the week." After MUCH protest from me, I obliged. I should've stuck around and saw who picked him up. But I was FURIOUS about the whole situation. I went home and had a bunch of texts from him asking not to be mad at him, he really needed groceries and he was working on moving out so we could have our own place at some point. 

    He came over to my place that week and I ended things. He apparently thought I was joking as he tried to text me to go out the next week. When I told him I was serious, he flipped his shit. He "pretended" to stalk me "I saw you out with another guy. Why are you dating someone else! You're with me!" And then when I told him how dare he follow me and I was going to call the police... "I didn't follow you, I just knew you had moved on. You never wanted to be with me. I just needed your confirmation." This went on for about a month. 

    So here comes the end of October. I had met FI in September, I went to England at the end of October and I get a flurry of emails from him "I'm going to kill myself. I can't live without you. I hope you're happy for what you did to me." I'M IN ENGLAND. WTF DO I DO? So I message one of his friends on FB. His friend tells me he did this plenty of times before, that he would check in on him but not to worry. So I get back from England a week later, find out he didn't try to kill himself. He goes back on the ignore list. 

    I get a phone call in the middle of the night in mid-november. The VM was from some girl who is a friend of his GIRLFRIEND. Bingo. Now all the dots are connected. He had tried to kill himself that night and she, is a nurse, saved his life until paramedics could arrive. I called her back later in the day after I processed and spoke to her for about an hour. Apparently they'd been together 8 years, she had caught him on dating websites before but he blamed his therapist "They want me to make friends. That's the only reason I'm on Craigslist." there are a lot of other details, but man. It was crazy. I had met his friends, his family, we went on a weekend vacation together... it was insane. I went and saw him in the hospital, just to confirm that he was actually in there and she was there. He turned white as a ghost and knew he had been found out. 

    He contacted me afterwards, begging for forgiveness, showed up at my apartment, random places around town. I ended up having to warn security at my work about him and have the police contact him to never contact me again. Sadly, a restraining order wasn't possible as he hadn't actually done anything against the law (such bullshit.) 

    I think that's it for my crazy dating. I started dating FI immediately after this whole thing simmered.

    mikenberger that is so out of control! How could he think you'd seriously never figure out he had a girlfriend? Ugh. I had a guy do that to me in college and it sucked cuz I really liked him, and I really thought he was a nice guy. 

    But pretty soon after we started dating, he started acting SUPER shady. I was home for the summer but still had an apartment near campus, so I would go visit him. One of the times I went to visit him, he gets a text and tells me his friend's mom has been in this horrible accident in a city 2 hours away and he has to go to the hospital to see her cuz she's paralyzed and blah blah blah. I felt so awful for this woman. 

    So he left to go "to the hospital" but kept texting me updates. First this woman is on life support and he has to stay there a few more days. An hour or so later, she's fine and he's coming back. I knew something was up at that point, but I couldn't figure out what and he wouldn't tell me. 

    Not long after that, he broke up with me out of the blue. Then he wanted to get back together because he was so in love with me. Come to find out, he had a girlfriend the entire time and was sneaking away to go see her. I was "the other woman." We broke up for good and months afterward, when I had nearly forgotten all about him, he contacted me and asked if we could be fuck buddies.

    Damn, that is quite the web of lies. Wouldn't it have been so much easier for him to just date ONE girl? I mean, come on dude. That sounds like so much work, especially to keep it going. I feel like people who do that kind of stuff have actual mental problems.

    Yeah, on top of all that he legitimately had Crohn's. Shortly after we started dating and I started getting suspicious, he started having major flare ups. Like he was out for a week at a time. 

    No fucking shit, Sherlock. You're literally living two lives. No wonder your insides hate you.

    I'm trying to remember all them. I know I blocked a bunch out. 

    I was dating this guy for a very short time when he invited me up to his friend's parents' cabin in upstate NY. We were all ranging in ages from 19 to 22, so naturally the idea of cabin all to ourselves sounded great. The guy John I was seeing had been there before, and talked up how cool this place was. 

    We get there and I find out there is no electricity. And no heat. And no running water. It was also about 15 degrees outside. Awesome. 

    After a few drinks, I'm frozen solid. There was a huge king size bed in one of the rooms. This was the ONLY bed in the house. John suggests that we get into the bed, and share it with Ben and Andrea. Ben was the one whose parents owned the cabin, and Andrea was his girlfriend. 

    I didn't know at the time, but all three of these motherfuckers thought it would be fun to do some swapping thing. We get into the dark bedroom with no light, and Ben starts touching me. Then I hear John making out with Andrea. So, I freaked the fuck out and spent the night sleeping in John's truck until he could drive me home the next day.

    WTF?!!!! That sounds like the worst night EVER! And no heat? Omg. You're a great person for trying to stay and stick it out but I would have been so pissed.

    We get there and I find out there is no electricity. And no heat. And no running water. It was also about 15 degrees outside. Awesome. 

    After a few drinks, I'm frozen solid. There was a huge king size bed in one of the rooms. This was the ONLY bed in the house. John suggests that we get into the bed, and share it with Ben and Andrea. Ben was the one whose parents owned the cabin, and Andrea was his girlfriend. 

    I didn't know at the time, but all three of these motherfuckers thought it would be fun to do some swapping thing. We get into the dark bedroom with no light, and Ben starts touching me. Then I hear John making out with Andrea. So, I freaked the fuck out and spent the night sleeping in John's truck until he could drive me home the next day. 
    WTF.  All the NOPE.

    I honestly used to be 100% there was something wrong with ME. Like somehow I was attracting all the crazy people. There was something written on my face that only they could see or something. It was just bizarre. I'm thankful every day that my FI is normal and well-adjusted, and he always says the same about me, based on his exes too lol

    Yup, I think they were hoping for a big orgy. When I asked John on the way home what he was thinking, he said, "I thought you'd be into it." Yeah, great plan.

    There was a guy who went to my high school who apparently had a crush on me for a while. After college, I came back to my hometown and started dating a friend of this guy, so we would all hang out. The guy had been dating an older girl for a few years who knew of me, and apparently she hated me. According to mutual friends it was because she knew her bf had a crush on me in the past and she was jealous. So when I was around this girl, I made a big effort to be really nice to her and show her I had no interest in her bf (never did, never will). She and I ended up getting along really well, and she stopped hating me. 

    Then I get a text from her bf, and he said they'd decided to have a threesome. The girl had "chosen" me as the person, and asked him to contact me and ask me if I was game. Why the fuck would you want to bring a woman you used to hate out of jealously that your SO used to have a crush on into your bedroom? How is that going to turn out well? 

    The whole thing was just so creepy to me. Needless to say, I declined their offer.

    I just remembered something that was way weird for me, although not nearly as weird as some of these stories!

    Remember how my ex is my BFF? At a party at his house one time, this random girl asked me if I'd ever get back together with him. I told her no. She told me that this was a shame because (I will never forget her words) "my husband and I are swingers and I'm really attracted to you, but we only do couples". I'm flattered, but no thanks girl.
