sitting at work with what we think is an ear infection (pain pressure and nauseous) on a day id normally have off. did this so my co worker could have her birthday off. well guess who has been chilling around here. yup said co worker. shes not dressed to work so i cant ask her to cover phones. who else would be pissed about this? if you can sit up here all day you may as well have just worked the day.

    So you did her a favor so she could celebrate her birthday? But she's been hanging out at your workplace? Just trying to make sure I understand. Do you work in a bar or restaurant?

    car dealership. my company lets us have our bday off paid. yet she is just hanging around.

    She sounds like a moron. Who takes a day off work and then hangs around work? Is the car dealership the hip and happening place to be?

    She's hanging out...at a car dealership? Hmm. And if the company let's you have your birthday off, then you're covering for the company. Not her.

    Sounds like a crappy situation though if you're sick :( but she has the day off. She can do whatever she wants with it. But seriously, girl needs a hobby if she's hanging out at work on her day off.

    technically your suppose to request it off through our portal we use to clock in and out, so im not covering for the company im covering her shift. i only agreed because i didnt need her trying to take a day off i actually need her to come in on and bitching because i wouldnt cover it.

    i have covered countless shifts of hers because she wasnt feeling good or she was off getting a car when she was suppose to be at work. out of this whole month she has worked one monday from her start time to close.

    Sounds like you need to stop covering for her and she'll dig her own tunnel right out of the company. Can't stand people that have a problem working. Especially when they rely on others to cover for them to get the job done. Boo :( feel better soon!

    thanks. i hope so. im going to a minute clinic tomorrow just to see if i should go to doctors. (they all close a half hour before i am off today wahhh)

    Hubby's work has a similar policy, you can have 1 extra day off during the month you were born. Since his in January he typically takes in off on the Monday for Martin Luther King since I get that day off as a teacher. 3 day weekend for us and the kids. None of us are hanging out at the school or the warehouse...your coworker be some kind of cray cray.

    her FI works here too but seriously drop him off and go home do something other than sitting around her. I am so not doing her this favor again. time for her to start paying me back for all these 11 hr shifts i have to pull.

    the only place i worked at that i went to on my days off was the zoo. but thats different. shes pissing everyone off. smh.
