Ok, I wanted to start a thread to vent about ridiculous prices that we've been quoted during the wedding planning process. I'll start.

Did she just quote me:

- $150 to design my wedding invitations and RSVP cards and doesn't even have a website for me to see her work?!

- $800+ for 75 invitations?!

What you ladies got?!

LOL! This is a good idea.

- Did they quote me $1600 for uplighting a few columns and pin spots on our reception tables???

- Did they quote me $3500 to set up our reception area like a lounge?

- Did they quote me $300 for a horse and carraiage rental for the wedding, but when FI called back and asked prices without mentioning the wedding, they quoted him $55?

Get outta here with that mess!!! LOL

Did they just quote me $2,000 for a church that I am a tithes paying member of?
Did they just quote me $8.95 pp for a cake?
Did they just quote me $300 per night a hotel room because it is a popular date? (Come on you are not even a 4 star establishment)
Did they just quote me $10pp for late night snack when I am already paying you an arm and two legs for the regular reception menu?

It's been so long since I was getting quotes for items but the one that sticks out in my mind was $1600 rental for the building, tables and chairs ONLY! Can I at least get a napkin! Can you throw in a maintenance person? Something?????

Did you just quote me $1500 for a 4 tier Wedding Cake, but the bottom tier is fake?!
Did you just quote me $350 for hair & make-up?!
Did you just quote me $20,000 for a Saturday evening wedding at your venue, when a Sunday Morning Wedding at your venue is only $6,619. WTH!! No thanks I'll take the Sunday Morning..
Did you just quote me $650 just for 100 invitations?! Are u serious?? No thanks, got me a chick off ETSY to do the Invitations, Programs & Menus for $200.
Did you just quote me $3600.00 for Flowers & reception decor?! Yeah yo stuff was badd as hell but I dont think so.. & that was the last she saw of me!!

@SheSheDuke...$2000 for a church that you are a member of? That is unbelievable.
@ellone....$2300 for one hour?! That's horrible.
@tyboyd....$800 for 75 invitations? That's 10.666666 cent per invite. *Hot Mess*!

Granted she claims that she would charge this because she would have to shut down her shop for the day... but she could at least include ALL of my BM's hair and my mom's or something!

$4000 for videography all because you've won local Emmys?! I don't care if you've won an effing Oscar, get the hell out of here!

$1200 to DJ for 5 hours even though I'm providing the entire playlist, so all you'll be doing is spinning the tunes that I ask you to play. I don't think so!

$15,000 minimum that only includes food and beverage for a Saturday evening wedding because food is catered by Cameron Mitchell. I don't care if it's catered by Bobby Flay...ridiculous!

My mother pays $1500 IN FULL for my wedding dress and we practically have to twist your arm to get a free $100 veil?! And that veil shouldn't have even cost $100, it's yards of tulle that costs $1.99/yard attached to a freaking comb!!! Come on, we should've gotten some kind of discount for paying in full in the first place.

It's no wonder the wedding industry is a billion dollar industry! They rip people off as soon as they hear the word wedding and somehow they're still able to sleep at night.

The Quote Phase has been a while for me also! But I do remember getting a quote for a Day-of-Planner in Feb and she gave me a quote of $500 for the day of. Went back to her to make my deposit in June and she said it would be $2300! WHAT IN THE WORLD!!! You have only had about 5 clients! Get a life! Mind you I have done all of the planning and booking of vendors! All she would have to do is be there for the rehearsal and for the day of! SMH!

EXACTLY!!!! And she had the nerve to say she would be by my side the entire day to make sure that not a hair is out of place... I was like yea you would for that much money... you might need to come to the honeymoon with me and fix my hair after DH and I get down that night! Needless to say, I will not be using her!

My FI and I went to a place last Sat and this man told us that it would be 240pp. I think my FI almost choked. LOL. I would like to know if they plan on paying for everything and planning everything. They must be crazy!!!! The place was not even worth half of it!

She would have to be there for way more than that for $600 please tell me that it includes at least 4 packs of hair fresh off some brazilin ladies head. Yes, they are crazy! Its some manor that has a semi pretty outside area, a nice cocktail area and an ok reception area...they pride themselves on doing one wedding at a time, Good Night to them! Nothing special comes with the price, we would still have to pay to have the ceremony there and pay for chair covers..I guess they are serving gold food or something but who knows

WOW@ alot of these- the $800 invites, $2000 to use a church that you're an actual MEMBER of and 240pp were just nuts. I haven't dealt with any vendors yet but for the reason of pricing, most of the stuff we're doing ourselves. 2 of my bridesmaids do hair, my older sisters and myself are catering the reception, and I'm doing alot of the DIY projects including all the paper stuff because ppl like to be funny whenever you say the word, "wedding" like we won't call back with our man on the phone and have him ask for a quote WITHOUT the word, just to see how much we're getting ripped off. SMDH.

Yes I'm cutting corners a lot myself. I decided to book with a BnB in which I'm getting the usage of the whole house including the guest suites....custom-designed menu (including special diets at no extra cost), use of chairs and all linens and anything else the BnB features that I want to use and the BnB Owner IS my DOC....she does it all herself. I won't say what it's costing me but....NOT $240pp.....smh...smh....smdh!!!

How about $700 just for make up, just for me--and when my response was "WTF, have you lost your mind" I got a lecture about skimping on my wedding day and this was so important because this would be the most photographed day of my life.

or $19,000 for a venue--and that's just the venue--it does not include tables, chairs, food, anything---you basically get the 4 walls and that's it.
