I'm jealous of all of your sparkly dresses and fancy plans. .

One of FI's friends is having a party so I guess that's what we're doing now. I feel odd wearing a blinged out festive outfit to a house party, but it's happening just cause.

We're supposed to go to a party at a friend's new house, a sort of combination housewarming and NYE. I've got to figure out if there's any way to get home after, because lord knows we're not going to be able to get a cab and neither of us are capable of that much socialising without a couple drinks.

I do have several sequin options if we do go, though.

H and I plan on getting lots of finger foods, cheese and crackers, and champagne and celebrating at home, just the two of us (and the pup). Fat, drunk and happy. Last year we put an offer in on a house at 9 pm, NYE, and went to an AWFUL party after. Like, so bad that I made H swear that he would never take me a party at this friend's house ever again. So this year we're keeping it laid back and quiet.

This year we're keeping it low-key and just staying at home with our booze and probably some rented movies. I don't feel like going out this year (or this week, it's vacation and we've only ventured out of the house twice since Saturday).

I wish I had a sparkly dress! As of right now I'm not even sure what I'm going to wear.

That being said, I was born on NYE, so I get to celebrate two occasions in one day

FI and I hired a babysitter for the night, and we're going to the Museum of Sex's NYE bash. Apparently there's a penis rock climbing wall, dancing, (booze for those who drink) and a boobie bounce castle. While it's a little out of our comfort zone, I'm really excited to see how the night turns out!

Lets see...fondue at home, booze, sex, and playing video games.

Im cutting alcohol for quite a while starting the 1st so I have to finish my port and have a last margarita. And a daquari. And a bourbon and coke.

Making fondue and finger foods so we can graze and play with the ps4.

Gonna do my hair and makeup all pretty, put on heels and a slinky nightie, and give dh a nice end of year surprise. Good thing its supposed to rain here on the 1st-after we finish, neither of us may be able to get out of bed in the morning ;-)

I have been sick, but I feel heaps better today. I'm hoping a NYE miracle happens and I feel 100% better by tomorrow so I can go out and do something.

If not, FH and I will have an awesome night in and I will watch Even Stevens when the clock strikes midnight. Tonight is That's So Raven and yesterday was Lizzie McGuire.

We are hosting a party. Or more likely, SO is hosting the party (ever the social butterfly) and I will just be drinking haha.

Alls I know is someone is bringing cards against humanity and we are stocked up on champagne. So, it can't be that bad.

We're staying in. We joke that NYE is amateur night, so we figure we're safer at home. Sometimes we invite other people over, but we're going to just do our own thing this year. Probably watch a movie, maybe have a little wine. 2014 had some great ups, but a few stinky downs, so we're hoping for a healthier 2015!

I'm kind of jealous of all the fancy/sequin dresses, so I'm trying to figure out a way to sparkle up my outfit even though it's a low-key board game and movie night at a friend's house.

I think I'm going to wear something like this, paired with a black jacket, dressy jeans, and black flats.

I have no idea what I'm doing for NYE. FI has to work, and he won't know what he'll be covering or if he'll be alone or with a reporter until he gets there at 3. If he's alone, I'll tag along with whatever he's doing. Last year he was filming a small brush fire and we celebrated at midnight by kissing by the side of the road. If he's with a reporter, I might "decide" to go to whatever event he gets assigned to, and I'm crossing my fingers that he'll either be alone or with a reporter assigned to cover the events down the street from our house.

If he's driving all over creation and I can't tag along, I might walk to the events down the street and hopefully my coworker friend will join me, because I don't really want to go alone. But I don't really want to stay at home by myself either.

Dinner out with DH, my bestie and her mom. (yay for my man he gets to go on a date with 3 beautiful ladies for NYE!) And then off to our home base bar for too much booze and a short cab ride home. It's a hole in the wall, but as we did last year - me and my ladies will all be sporting sparkly dresses for the occasion! Though I may not go with sparkly...I may wear the white knit dress I got for my bachelorette party and my new cowboy boats! It's totally hot.

Well, we're having a late dinner with the FILs and family friends. Then we were going to have a quiet evening with one of my BMs and her BF but she's sick so that got scrapped.

So I'm kinda bummed. And we're staying with the ILs so I can't even just come home and hang out in PJs, because their friends will be over.

Maybe we'll go for a late walk, and ring in the new year outside.

FI is on an overnight flight so I'm spending the night in.

We got home from Christmas vacation last night to find that our house has a new occupant. A sneaky little mouse.

Spent hours disinfecting my kitchen last night. Still haven't managed to catch the sneaky little bugger so Im guessing tonight will be more cleaning up and disinfecting the house.

And copious amounts of wine to numb the fact I'm going to be spending the first day of the new year alone, hunting a mouse and bleaching my entire existance....

Today is FI's bestie's FI's birthday. We are going to work on placing the kittens (even though FI REALLY wants to keep one), and then go get pizza.

Possibly come back here to eat it and then I guess we're going out for birthday drinks.

We were supposed to go to a party my brother and his girlfriend are hosting. We were kind of wishy washy about going because we don't really know anyone besides them and we went out with another couple last year and had a hellish time. I'm not kidding, we came far closer than I'd like to admit to breaking up over it. So we tried to bail on the party this year and got some push back, so we decided to make the best of it and go. Then I started having flu symptoms. There's a bad flu bug going around my office and it seems I caught it. So I had to call my brother and his gf and be the bad guy who conveniently bails on a party 2 hours prior, after already trying to get out of going earlier this week. And I spend the night on the couch with chills and cold sweats while FI watches football. Blah.

I think I have chronic fatigue syndrome because I usually fall asleep at 10. FI is on call all night and I am trying to keep myself awake by knotting and playing Grand Theft Auto. It is 8:42. If I make it to 11 I will consider it a wild night.

The pound or so of lasagna I ate isn't helping.

I'm at home drinking a chocolate martini out of a wine glass because I don't have martini glasses, waiting for H to get home so we can go to a party...to play board games. Fancy eye makeup and false lashes over my anti-aging eye cream; glittery top and orthopedic slippers. I am at war with myself over how the fuck old I am.
