Alt + 248

Holding the "Alt" key and typing the number sequence 248 gives you the degree symbol!  ° ° °

Maybe this is nothing new, but it's news to me!

Now let's see what other number combinations get....

  • LOL yeah, not new. But definitely fun, especially when you're talking about weather and nobody else knows how to do it and you blow their minds. ;)

    Doesn't work unless you have the side number pad on a real keyboard though... lame top laptop number row doesn't work. :(

    To the bolded:  I did not know that.

    I was trying to figure out how to do it so I could add some temperature info to my wedding website for out of town guests. 

    Mind = blown!  (Doesn't take much with me, I guess...)

  • You can find out how to do all the symbols if you pull up Character Map on your computer. Usually it's in the Accessories folder under System Tools. This was a lifesaver when I had to type my Spanish essays in college!

  • I know a ton of French accent codes for PC.  Much easier on my Mac though, but my work computer is a PC.  My students are blown away by my tech savvy.  ;)
