No one is on my Month board.

I hope it's okay that I post here.

My name is Sara. While my bf and I aren't "officially" engaged (there is yet to be a ring on my finger), we are already starting to plan the wedding. We have a date (2.6.16), he has the ring, we know almost all the details we want. The reason the ring isn't on my finger yet.....He has a "plan." I know the plan consists of an abundant amount of snow, which until this past weekend we have had NONE. He did tell me that if the amount of snow isn't to his liking by a certain time, he has a plan B. He says that both of his plans are how my first proposal should have been (this will be my 2nd marriage).

We've been together for almost 2 years. When we met, neither of us were looking for a relationship. I was going through a divorce and enjoying being single for the first time, and he just was...single and not looking. And we proudly say we met the "old fashioned way"... in a bar. In our hometown bar that we both frequented regularly but never even saw each other until that night. If fate is a thing... lol.

Ummm, other things about me. I have a daughter. I'm finishing Real Estate school (just have to take my final). I have a guilty pleasure for reality TV. I LOVE music, mostly alternative. And I'm obsessed with the 90s (BEST. DECADE. EVER.)

Welcome! The ring doesn't make you engaged. The promise to get married does. My sister went through her entire engagement without a ring. They were still getting married...

I wouldn't put it past him to do the snowman thing. I once told him I'm afraid he's going to write "Will You Marry Me?" in the snow with pee. Thankfully, he said he'd have to drink too much for that one. lol

Well, Dance Moms just started...so there's that. Mostly, if it's on TV. Although, I don't really care for the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. Other than that. Yes. And I'm so grateful for On Demand since he doesn't care at all for reality shows.

Welcome! My month board was pretty slow too, even my local board which is a fairly big city. We are super chatty here so stick around and get hooked!

Many of us got engaged in our bedroom/ kitchen/ couch/ car/ etc, so it's sweet that he wants to do something big and showy but you can always encourage him that it doesn't matter.

Have you looked at any venues? Are you thinking big/ small?

If you're planning a wedding then congrats You're Engaged! You don't need a ring or a fancy proposal to be "officially" engaged, just a mutual agreement that yes, you both want to get married, and have the intent to do so - which you do, as you've already settled on a date and are planning other details.

If you don't really consider yourselves engaged, then stop planning for now. I promise there will be MORE than enough time for that later. In the meantime, enjoy the time you have with your SO and try to find fun ways to keep yourself occupied until he "officially" asks. If you need some other ways to waste time, we're always willing to help out with that on the "Not Yet Engaged" board.

Yes. It was really weird without here there. But no spoilers from me.

We do consider ourselves engaged, but a lot of others don't without the ring and all that jazz.

When we started, we were thinking about 150 because we didn't know whether out of state family would come. But he's military (ANG-full time), so when we started adding people he works with, it quickly jumped to 200. We are going to get married in our hometown, his church (it's gorgeous) and reception at the American Legion (because it's a lot less expensive). We don't know if my dad is willing to give us any money towards the wedding, so we're planning as if we have to pay it all ourselves.

And YAY 90s alternative!!!

I'm thinking lace, possibly A-line. But I'm actually pretty open. The only thing the man has said is "Not to busy or blingy or poofy" Which isn't my style anyway.

Hi and welcome!

My month board was pretty slow when I first joined TK, about 11 months before I got married. It picked up quite a bit in the 3 or 4 months before the wedding. I also spent some time on my local board, which is one of the more active ones. But I mostly hung out here and on the Etiquette board, which is super helpful and I recommend you check it out.

One thing to remember, the ladies (and occasional gentlemen) on here can be blunt sometimes, so you may have to develop a thick skin, but we really are trying to help. Don't take it personally if a response is not to your liking. :-)

You've already picked a wedding date. What else do you have planned so far?

Haha. I'm no newbie when it comes to message boards. I was on Baby Center for years, including the political debate board they have. Thick skin and bluntness are my fortes.

We pretty much know everything we want. It's just a matter of implementation at this point. The theme we are going with is "Romantic Geek." A little bit of our geeky pleasures infused into a traditional ceremony and a fun reception.

Yes. Both our families know. And he asked my mom, dad, and stepmom for permission. We're both playing the waiting game for his BIG PLAN. Ugh! I think we're both getting frustrated. Stupid Mother Nature not cooperating.

It doesn't seem like much a proposal as it is an elaborate gift giving event. Cool.

Personally, I would have been so frustrated with H if he was waiting on the weather. When he proposed, it kept getting rescheduled because he was waiting on my dad's schedule to clear up, not the clouds. Then again, we had defined engaged as having a ring already presented, with a question formally asked, even though we had agreed on the getting married part for at least 8 months.

The NEY board has a great supply of patience pants.

Oh believe me. I'm getting frustrated. And so is he. But he wants it to be a romantic thing and I'm not going to take that away from him. Plus, I think he likes watching me squirm over something I can't control. And like I said, he does have a Plan B if it doesn't happen by the end of the month. If that's the case, I think I know when it will happen.
