need recommendations for butcher!

Hi all!

I am currently looking for a reptuable butcher in the Twin Cities area that makes pulled pork and pulled chicken. I feel Famous Daves' prices are a little bit high (we are doing bbq style for our reception in St. Paul)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Niki

Will someone be doing the cooking for you? Von Hanson's meats has a huge selection and they are always really good!

If you are looking for a butcher there are 3 excellent ones where you will get super meat:
    Hackenmuellers  in Robbinsdale
Clanceys in Linden Hills (SW Minneapolis)
    Everetts Meats in S. Minneapolis

(though Costco has Pork Shoulder for the best price in town if you are going to be smoking your own and its pretty damn tasty, too)

But if you aren't actually looking for a butcher, If you are looking for someone to make you delicious pork and chicken, check out Brasa. Their catering prices are really reasonable, and the food quality is way better than famous daves. We are using them for our August wedding. YUM.

I was thinking about doing a pig roast for my wedding and that didnt work out.  I found the Sassy Pig.  I think their prices were reasonable and they had a bunch of meat chocies.

Divine Swine might also be an option.  Classic Catering also has a "picnic" arm of their business - check out their menus too.
