I do David's too. They only sell loose-leaf, but they do sell disposable bags you can throw your tea into if you don't want to clean out a tea ball/.strainer/etc every time. I also loooooove their sample packs and the way they organize everything so it's very easy to select a tea that's right for you (all the oolongs clearly marked together and that kind of thing.)
The David's Tea here has a few things they sell in bags, though I think for the number of bags you get, the price isn't worth it.

I'm biased against David's because I was given a big sampler pack this year and you seriously can't unscrew half the lids. I need to take them in and exchange them.

  • Celestial Seasonings is made in my state, so sometimes I will take a day trip up to their factory and load up on freshly blended teas. I think they sell them everwhere in stores, too.

I also love Teavana. They have a herbal blend to help with sleeping that works like a charm for me, so I always have it at home. It is amazing. http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/herbal-teas/p/tranquil-dream-herbal-tea

  • I can't help you because I hate tea. Like, here, let's infuse some hot water with like, the ghost of a flavor.

    Why.

  • My fi typically does Bigelow (he'll drink any of them but the vanilla flavored ones which is what I drink) and his brother likes Celestial.
  • I love tea but I'm not picky about fanciness or whatnot. I use bags usually, but looseleaf sometimes. I'm partial to chai and plain ol' green. I buy this Uncle Lee's organic green tea at Walmart and it's like 2 bucks for a 50 pack of bags.

  • I guess my eyes are getting old.  Every time I see this on the wedding board the "!" looks like a "l" to me.   So i'm like.... Let's talk about teal?   What is there to talk about with the color teal?

I've got nothing on tea either.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I am an equal opportunity tea lover (unless it's sweet tea - that is an abomination), so I am not really much help.

But in regards to loose leaf, I don't use an infuser OR bags, because I am cheap and lazy. I use the coffee filters at work, fold them up, and staple them like so:

This is a milestone day for me. I/my stuff has never been described as crafty as fuck... I LOVE IT.

  • I love Yogi teas. I haven't had one that I didn't like, but the Kava stress relief is my favorite. I think it tastes like Christmas.

There was this awesome local tea place that made this Roasted Almond tea, but they went out of business :(. This looks like a similar one, but I've never had it so I don't know whether it's good or not.

  • TEA.  I love it so much.  Just at work I have fifteen tins of different types of tea.  I think I drink about nine cups a day, and that's not an exaggeration.  I might have a problem.

Harney and Sons has really good quality tea.  My favorites are Tower of London, Paris, and Caribe.  They all have caffeine, but they are fantastic.  My Mom loves their Mint Verbena herbal tea, if you need something that is caffeine free and herbal.  They also have sample packs with one sachet each of their popular teas, so that could be an option too.

I do like Teavana, but they also have some preservatives in their teas, so now I'm sad and probably won't buy it again.  Also, Teavana is super expensive, while Harney and Sons is really good quality for a reasonable price.

I tried Good Earth Sweet and Spicy last night at my BFF's house and it was super tasty.  It's not very fancy, but the spice on the cold night was nice and it was caffeine free.

    Humboldt County Tea.

Lots of great options, fav is Energy Wellness.

I have infuser, the little ball tool that looks like a ball-shaped basket on a clamp, etc. and my favorite are the open top tea filters that you put a spoonful or two in and drop into mug.  Nothing to wash or clean up.

ETA: my local Teavana freaked me out.  The people are really nice, but when they were opening the jars to let me smell the tea, the guy pointed out that it had dried fruit in it.  He said his staff loves to pick it out and eat it.  Then he asked me if I wanted to take a piece.  Ummmm, unhygienic!  Gross.  How many fingers have been in that tea?!?!?!?!

We can be friends. In my kitchen I used to have a shelf in a cabinet devoted to tea, but now I have two shelves because the first was too small.

  • Hot tea to me reminds me of being sick, because that's the only time I drink it.  That being said, today is a tea day (boo).  Our Flavia machine has a tasty rasberry tea that I've been drinking to soothe my throat.  At home I have Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple.

  • I second Harney & Sons and Mighty Leaf.  As for loose tea, I prefer it but I'm also lazy and it takes a bit more effort to cleanup on a daily basis.  So I typically use tea bags but I keep a good stock of loose leaf for weekends.

  • I got this for Christmas. Although I'm a little sad that the quality is off, I was still so excited to finally get it.

    Isn't it adorable?!

  • I love oolong, both because it tastes good and because it's fun to say oooooooooooooo-long!

Republic of Tea is my favorite vendor. I also don't care much for Teavana. Too many weird flavors, too overpriced.
  • i have been trying to get into drinking tea. i have snuck some from work that are bigelow and use something that sounds fruity or spicy (read: spices and sweet). id do loose and buy her an infuser, seems more like a gift than a box of bags of tea.
