My day is sucking horribly *long and whiny*

I wake up to an early call from my sister (we co-own a 2-flat that she still lives in). My tenant got taken away by Homeland Security. I'm not going to go into details but it was a scary morning.

I just got reamed out at work by our developers because I didn't catch something stupid that they should never have allowed to happen.

The office is freezing today and I can't feel my toes.

In this morning's excitement, I forgot my lunch. I also don't have cash. The only places near my office are cash-only. I don't want to walk 4-5 blocks in the freezing cold. Delivery makes for an expensive lunch and we're trying to be better about eating out.

My nose isn't running as badly as before but I have that gross chapped upper lip thing going.

And I'm super-whiny, anxious about the top 2 issues, and incredibly hormonal. I need hugs, chocolate cake, and wine. None of which I'll likely get to enjoy today.

Is anyone else having a shit day?

  • Well that just sounds like a big ol bucket of suck!

I'm sorry you are having such a crappy day but I send hugs, cake, and wine in whatever order you like.

  • I hope the rest of your day goes better!

I'm throwing in the towel and taking sick time for the rest of the afternoon.  I haven't used a sick day in 2 years, and I want to go home and crawl back into bed.

  • I'm sorry you're having a horrid day! It always seems to happen in a pile doesn't it? Hopefully the issues get resolved and you get a good lunch!

  • Wow. What a horrible way to start your day off. I'm so sorry! Lots of hugs and wine.

Whenever someone tells me they're having an awful day I always tell them, "Just remember, this day will end soon and be gone forever."

  • You're all awesome :)

My boss is having an off day too so we went out for wonderful, greasy, extravagant burgers. It didn't fit with the goal of healthier eating or fiscal responsibility but it made the day feel better. I'm now back at my desk with a diet coke and a 2 truffles from Vosges.

Our lawyers keep sending us fancy chocolate. We clearly spend a lot with them. I think this is much better than the cheesy calendars from our tech folks.
