  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree with keeping the planning and wedding talk here until his family is ready. It's so soon that it could seem selfish and insensitive. The rose idea is lovely.

I am inviting about 230 people to the wedding. Both FI and I have huge, huge families. We only have 20 friends we are inviting, including the parents of some very close childhood friends.

Did you decide on colors or food or a dress yet? Anything like that? I'd love to hear.

  • That's how I feel as well because right now for me to deal with I've just been focused on this because she was in my life and was like sister.

It going to be a evening wedding and we are doing black and white with silver and purple accents.

Those are gorgeous colors! Also, you look so beautiful in your dress, and extra points because it has POCKETS!  I have an irrationally intense love for dresses with pockets.

    Who doesn't?
  • Right lol.. I love Pockets and when I saw that dress I was like Yes.. I can put like worms in my pockets LOL.. no not really I did that when I was little my mom would find everything in my pockets including worms lol
  • I'd put stuff in those pockets just for the sake of using them.  I'd be like "hey, anyone want some wedding floss because I have some in my POOOCKETTTSSS!"  It's probably good my dress doesn't have pockets.

  • That dress is gorgeous and it fits you perfectly. You're going to be a beautiful bride

  • My wedding dress was realllllllly similar to yours. I LOVED having pockets! :) I kept a couple tissues and my lip gloss in them. Once we got to the reception, I put my phone in there too.
  • Thank you MairePoppy.
wrigleyville see ..lol..... I am going to do just that lol.
  • I'm very sorry for your loss. Definitely don't replace her. I think a small floral memorial is appropriate. Just be careful not to overdo it. My grandmother died shortly before my wedding and my aunts and uncles would have turned my ceremony into a wake if I hadn't been assertive.
My colors are "blood of my enemies" and "rage".

    So sorry for your loss.

I love your dress, and you look beautiful in it.
  • Thank you SP29
  • kitsunegari89 , I was concerned about that as well. I wanted to do something small that only people that know would understand to keep it as happy as possible. What did you end up doing if I may ask?
  • I am so sorry for your family's loss. Please know that you can come on here at any time to talk about your wedding planning with all of us if your FI is not ready to talk about it. You look stunning in your dress, by the way.
