  @hellohkb I don't really want to cut it. I've been growing it out for a bout a year and just do trims now.

  
  

  For color, i'm generally pretty open to whatever. I tend to stick somewhere in the "red/orange" family. I usually do low light and low lights but have considered an all over color.

  I am the same way.  I have natural strawberry blonde hair and I have only ever added highlights so it scares the begeezus out of me to completely dye it.  Every time I make a hair appointment I say I am going to do it but then I chicken out.

  It is so scary though!  What if it looks like crap?!  Ahhhhhh!!!!

  
  

  I just got my hair cut this week so when it gets closer to another trim I will talk to my hairstylist.  I have also heard that red doesn't stay as well as other color hair dyes.  But I think H will love it if I came home with a completely new look.

  It's harder to maintain but not impossible. With a good sulfate-free shampoo and not washing my hair every day mine stayed really well. I also occasionally used a red glaze to boost the color a bit more.

  
  

  You could always do a semi-permanent color so it'll fade through strawberry blonde back to blonde.

  Speaking from someone with red hair, two things: red hair dyes do not stay long at all and red hair doesn't hold color as long because the natural red over powers it. So if you have strawberry blonde hair and dye it red, it probably will fade kind of quickly.

  It does suck! Every time I get low lights, they fade in about a month and then my hair looks too blonde. I have to go every 6 weeks at least.
