Thursday!

Morning ladies.  I'm so thankful it is Thursday...this week has seemed to drag but we are over the hump!  I have so much energy today so I'm hoping to use that to my advantage at work.  I did a cycle class (I think I'm getting addicted) and a core class last night and I feel so great....if only I could remember how good it feels to be in a pattern of exercise when I go through my sloth periods.  :)  I'm working today and then its either a cycle class (right now its full so I'm just on the wait list) or an Interval class.  I was bummed at supper last night...H buys me black bean and quinoa bowls when he goes to work in Chicago during the day (T, W, F) and yesterday it had dry chicken in it.  They now are making chicken mandatory in it (as far as price) so they can jack the price up.  I'm making my own this weekend for the week I've decided.

What are you ladies up to today?

TGIT. I can get though today solely because tomorrow is Friday. Half of my team is out of the office this week and I've been behind for ages because someone from another department can't get stuff to me on time, so I am just feeling overwhelmed this week. Which, of course, is why I'm on TK.

Nothing exciting today, lots of email to deal with and just waiting for it to start snowing.

My insides are feeling a bit funky today and I'm not sure why. FI says he feels fine so it's probably not dinner from last night. I'm hoping this clears up because I have a couple errands I want to run tonight. I really want to get to one of the stores where we're registered; our registry is showing a few things as "Discontinued" suddenly and I'm really annoyed. There's one item I really want to try to pick up if it's still in stock. Booooo to The Bay...such a pain!

  • @minskat30 - how lame re: the quinoa bowls. I hate when companies do that.

I managed to find shoes for the girls last night. At Payless, even better they were on sale. I like when that works out for shoes they plan to wear once. I also didn't kill them while shopping, which is a feat in itself. I'm trying to wrap up my work for the week today. Evidently I'm "on call" for my mom needing to get wedding stuff done, so there's that. Is it Sunday yet?

  • @minskat30 - H and I have been going back and forth on the gyms by our new house all morning! I think we're joining Crunch. They have a ton of classes which is good for me because I get bored trying to figure out WTF to do on the machines by myself.

@lmcooper86 - The Devils were the better of the bad last night! If you didn't catch it, we won in a shoot out hahaha

@Ollie08 - Yay for cheap shoes! What are you wearing to the wedding?

  • Nothing really going on here today. H and I left the Devils game early last night because we were both tired.

Tonight I'm running to Wegmans then home to Lucy and then I might go to the gym. I'm nervous and scared and thinking of every possible excuse to not go. Like, I really need to clean and I won't be home tomorrow so that would push it off to Saturday. And I really wanted to do a little bit of cleaning each day rather than the WHOLE house on my one of two days off.

But like I said, excuses. Sigh.

  • minskat30 that sucks about the black bean and quinoa bowl; I cannot stand when places change their menu items and the food doesn't taste the same.

lmcooper86 Hopefully you're feeling better soon, maybe it is just a stress stomachache.

    @ollie08 yay for cheap shoes!

@swazzle just go straight to the gym, if you go home you'll never go.

I had such a nice date night last night.  The restaurant was good, but definitely not a place I would go if it weren't restaurant week.  The portions were really small and the prices were crazy expensive.  The deal they had for restaurant week was a three course meal.  Even though I dress nice for work, I wanted to really get dressed up so I picked out one of my favorite dresses and a pair of heeled boots.  Probably not the brightest idea to wear heels for the first time on cobblestone/ice, but I didn't fall and now know I can wear heels again!

  • @GoldenPenguin I can't wait to see your hair trial pictures! You already looked SO GORGEOUS in the picture you sent me before with the headband! I've been super tired too...yesterday I fell asleep on the couch around 8:30. Maybe it's the wintertime blues?

@Swazzle - I saw part of the first and all of the third/OT/shootout. The Leafs have been useless lately, I don't really care anymore lol

@GoldenPenguin -  That's how I've been feeling. I can't tell if I'm sick or just stressed; work has been frustrating and I have a ton of wedding stuff to take care of and I am really annoyed/upset about something with a friend of mine. I would love a day to myself, but I couldn't justify taking a sick day when I'm not sure if I'm actually sick or not!

  • @goldenpenguin lots of pictures!! And share your inspiration pictures too!

  • @GoldenPenguin - I shall take you to Wegmans and allow you to have Snoos snuggles in EIGHT days.

@LaBro - Yay for kicking debt's ass! That's so awesome!

@speakeasy14 - I haven't joined yet and don't have any clothes with me so I'll have to go home first if I decide to go.

@lmcooper86 - We got there last night and I instantly wished we were home. We have another game tomorrow night (I have other plans at least) and Saturday. Already dreading having to go on Saturday lol

  • @minskat - I love making my own bowls! It's so easy to have the individual ingredients pre-prepared, so you can mix it however you want on the day of. Super lame about the price jack though. I see that happening way too often.  Imiss the old ham sandwiches at Starbucks, but now you can only order the more expensive "Slow roasted ham and swiss".... Blow me, Starbucks.

@Ollie08 - I'm pretty sure every pair of shoes I had up until I was 18 was from Payless. I mean, I didn't have many other choices of stores where I grew up, but I love that place!

@Swazzle - Just do kegels in your chair at work. That's a work out, right? :P

@GoldenPenguin - I can't wait to see hair trial pics!

@speakeasy14 - I LOVE when they do restaurant week in Portland, too! I can afford all the fancy places downtown.

    ---------------------------

Well, that LEEP things was........ interesting. I would not mind never having to do that again. And also glad I didn't see the needle until after it was all over. Holy hell. But I wasn't AWARE that I wouldn't be able to exercise for a couple of weeks! I don't care about myself, but I use exercise to wear my dog out. I tried to go for a slow short walk with him this morning, but I forgot we're speed demons. Even my walk speed is basically a jog. Ugh. He's gonna be annoying, but I guess I'll just have to make it to the dog park more this week.

So yesterday I made a turkey roast in the crock pot with a sauce of orange juice, whole berry cranberry sauce, and onion soup powder. Holy shit, it was awesome. I highly recommend it!

  • @GoldenPenguin - I'm so excited to see pics of your hair trial!

I'm so glad the week is almost over! It's the week before my period, which is when my hormones go all out of whack for the month. I've felt crappy and moody all week and getting up early every morning has not been helpful. I have a personal training session tonight that I'm really not looking forward to because I'm just so exhausted. And I forgot my breakfast this morning. It's just sitting on my counter, not being eaten by me :( Clearly, I'm in a complaining mood today.

  • @labro that is awesome! I just paid off my credit cards and now working on student loans.  It really is awesome to watch all that debt go away.

@swazzle Oh, I missed that part.  Umm, go home and change quick, then go to a gym and sign up.   Don't even look at the couch when you stop home.

  • I'm tired and in a bad mood.  I'm ready for the weekend.  6 weeks until the Bahamas, I can't wait.  I'm done with the cold and snow.

    Anniversary

  • @Ollie08 You looked SO PRETTY in your wedding dress so I know you're going to look amazing in this one!!! I love it!

  • @AlPacina - I'm glad it went ok! I had cryosurgery (freezing instead of burning) and it was AWFUL. You seem to be in pretty good spirits today, are you feeling well then? Do you have a yard where you can throw a ball or frisbee around to tire out your pup?

@bethsmiles - My week is the same as your week, I should get my period next week (although I haven't gotten it the last couple of months, yay IUD) so I'm right there with you. I didn't leave my food at home but I was about to walk out of the house and tried to stretch my jeans a little bit and completely ripped them on the inner-thigh-crotchal-area (same place ALL of my friggin jeans rip) so I had to run back upstairs, remove my boots, and put on new jeans and it was just such a pain in the ass!

@Ollie08 - I have that dress! It's my fave. You're going to look gorgeous <3

  • @Peaseblossom55 Take me with you to the Bahamas!

@LaPeanut1018 -Yay for getting rid of debt and increasing your 401k. I want my student loans gone! I've made a big dent in them but they won't be gone probably for another couple years. WAH.

@GoldenPenguin I can't wait to see hair trial pictures with your pretty headband!

Not much going on today. I totally failed yesterday and told DH that I wanted Chinese food instead of cooking dinner. Oh well, don't care.

Tonight we are going out to dinner with DH's parents since his mom can't spend 5 minutes away from her son. It doesn't bother me that they like to visit so much but sometimes I just want to only see them once a month maybe...idk I'm mean. I requested Italian tonight so that makes me happy.
  • @swazzle - I hate it when my jeans rip and mine rip in the same place. It's such a pain in the ass. One of my favorite pairs is getting pretty worn and I think they are going to tear soon.

I thought about turning around to get my breakfast when I realized I forgot it but traffic sucked today and I probably would've been late.

@alpacina - I had the LEEP done too, and it was terrible. For some reason, my cervix didn't totally numb, so I actually felt one of the slices. OUCH. I don't remember not being able to exercise though - I'm sure you'll be fine if you have to take the pup for a walk.

@LaBro - congrats on kicking some debt!! I'm jealous. I don't think I'll ever get my student loans paid off. Sigh.

@southernpeach89 - Now I want Chinese food. Thanks. Jerk. ;)

@Ollie08 - I can't wait to see pictures!! You're going to look gorgeous!

    @Bethsmiles & @Peaseblossom55 - I hope your days get better!! <3

@speakeasy14 - What did you get for dinner?

  • AlPacina When I broke my foot, I spent a lot of time throwing random toys from my spot on the couch so my dog could use up her extra energy.  If you can't make it to the dog park, it'll at least help a little and let you rest.  Also, that turkey sounds awesome.
    image
  • @southernpeach89 You definitely need to eat ALL the pasta. When do H's parents move? She probably just wants to get as much time in with your H because soon she won't be able to see you as often. If it's going to be longer than a couple of months it may be time to talk with your H about boundaries.

  • @GoldenPenguin Won't you get debt forgiveness after so many years of on-time payments? Any idea when that might be? Also, have you consolidated at all to help with getting a lower interest rate?

  • @minskat30 That's so frustrating about the quinoa bowls! I hate when companies alter their stuff for no good reason. I hope you're able to get into cycle class tonight! I really enjoyed those classes too. It's the one thing I miss most about going to the gym.

@lmcooper86 I hope you feel better soon! Maybe drink some green tea or peppermint tea?

@Ollie08 I'm glad you found shoes for the girls! I also want to see what you're wearing to the wedding.

@Swazzle Getting over the initial hump of going to the gym is the hardest part. Just try and think of how great it will feel to finally go and get it over with and not have it hanging over your head anymore.

    @GoldenPenguin Please post inspiration pics!

@LaBro Yeah! Getting out of debt is great! Way to go!

@speakeasy14 Aw, I'm sorry the restaurant was a bust.

    ----------------------------------------
Our email is down, so it's a really quiet morning at the office. This sort of thing seems to happen at least once a week.

I did PiYo Core last night, and I can definitely feel it this morning. I'm a little frustrated though because I'm up a couple of pounds today and I'm really bloated. I'm sure that's linked to PMS, but it's still frustrating.

The crock pot honey sesame chicken was great! FI wasn't as big a fan of it, but he's not the biggest fan of Asian food in general. He always orders fried rice when we order Chinese, so sesame chicken wasn't very appealing to him to begin with.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday, and now I'm crabby because it's only Thursday.

I think tonight I'll veg on the couch and work on a puzzle or FI's Slytherin scarf after my workout. I'm feeling pretty useless today.

  • I also wanted to add re: the gym.... there have been SO many posts on FB about how annoying it is that people come to the gym in January by people that have been going prior to now. It's really discouraging.

  • @Swazzle - Thank you so much for asking! I feel totally fine! A little crampy, but I honestly felt worse after the colposcopy. But omg, the freezing procedure sounds awful!

@GoldenPenguin - OMG, I cringed just thinking about how that must have felt! That's the kind of shit that would make me avoid the female doctor for a while. I had a bad experience at the dentist, with them numbing the wrong side, and haven't been back since, even though I know I really need to go. I pay for the fucking insurance. I should definitely go.

As for the dog, he isn't interested in toys. He's interested in me running around with him, or playing tug of war with branches. There is a reason I've lost so much weight since I got him, haha. At the dog park, he'll chase after dogs going after balls, but if he beats them to it he just grabs it in his mouth, immediately drops it, and either tries to get the dog to play with him or runs back to me. If I threw stuff at home, he would probably chase it, then drop it and come back to me without it, haha. I guess I could just buy a whole basket of tennis balls and throw them one at a time. (@speakeasy14)

  • @LaPeanut1018 Yea I think that's the reason among others....so if it gets to be once a week then I'll probably say something to DH.
  • @eilis1228 I'd like for my email to go down at work....I really don't feel like working today!
