  • Congratulations!  I started tearing up about how sweet your H was, when you told him.  I am so happy for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and send out positive vibes that you have a wonderful 9 months ahead of you before you meet your little bun.

On the bolded - it's probably already 8 months at least. That's the craziest thing - the first two weeks or so that they count from, you're not even really pregnant, and by the time you find out you're usually already close to a "month" in. I just remember thinking "Cool, we've got 9 months to prep for this" and then realizing, "Oh shit, one of those months already disappeared!"

But your husband sounds so wonderful! You'll be as prepared and loving as you can be :)

  • Oh my gosh how sweet of your husband! Congrats again to you both!
  • That story made me smile!  Congrats!!

Isn't full term 37-42 weeks, which is technically closer to 10 months?

    True.

The 9 months of pregnancy is based on 40 weeks, though, and they count from your last period, not the date of conception, so by the time you miss your period you're probably 4 "weeks" in. And most insurance policies don't like to let you go much past 40 weeks without inducing. So if you're going by the traditional "9 months," you're better rounding to 8 months than 9.

ETA It doesn't matter, it's just a mental thing where you don't have as much time as you thought.

I have a friend who was told she was due at the end of November and she's still pregnant.  They told her they were probably wrong because baby is only 4 lbs. That being said, both her mom and his mom are under 5 feet so it's probably just a tiny baby.  They're getting anxious.

I would be SO DONE. Even with a tiny baby, I would be so ready to give birth and be able to see my feet again.

There's also a lot of times where they estimate that baby is 7 pounds right before birth and it comes out 9 pounds. Now if they were estimating 4 pounds I probably wouldn't want to risk it, but it'd be the worst.

Oh for sure.  They're waiting on a fetal assessment and hopefully they'll induce her soon :)
