Wedding Shoes

Hello wonderful knotties,

My wedding dress came in and I am going to see how it fits today!  I am nervous and excited at the same time!  Beforehand, I am wedding shoe shopping.  This might seem like a pointless post, but I was just curious where you ladies got your shoes?  I was just thinking of going to Macy's or something.

Also, I survived my second week of my second semester of grad school and it was beyond intense.  Somehow I made it!

Thanks knotties!

Re: Wedding Shoes

  • You should post pics of your dress!!! Also, I just made a thread about wedding shoes, so if you search google for any of the images that you like you can find out where we got all ours. Most of us said, anyway.

  • Go over to the shoe porn thread for lots of ideas.

I found some really pretty shoes at Macy's (a Badgley Mischka pair, 2 Betsy Johnson pair, and another brand I can't remember right now) and returned them all because none of them were comfy enough. I also found some good ones on Zappos but returned the first pair I tried and then gave up. I ended up ordering the ones I kept from bhldn.

  • Good point @larrygaga!   Thanks!  I posted pics of the dress when I was trying it on, but that was a bigger size, so I will probably/hopefully look different in this one! I can post pics!!

  • Hey, so I feel silly asking this, but what does DSW stand for?  I have been trying to figure that out lol.  Thanks @esstee33!
  • Good tips @novella1186!  Thank you!

Designer Shoe Warehouse, I think. It's a shoe department store in the states and probably canada.

I'm guessing they are in Canada because I live on the border of US/Canada and usually if we have something they have it across the way.

Yep, this. Designer Shoe Warehouse (although I had to Google that).

...I didn't know it stood for anything. I just thought that was their name. For...reasons.

Haha, I am so beyond tired and fried that it didn't even click that it was a department shoes store and thus I was confused.  Even though I had just asked that question.  Grad school.  Oi vey.
  • I got mine at 6pm.com. I generally don't shop at stores where an employee has to bring the shoes you want to try on because I don't like people, so I buy all my shoes at either DSW or online.

OMG I hate when employees are supposed to help you. I don't want you. go away. go stand in the corner and I'll find you if I need you.

I hate they stores where they insist on measuring your feet. Don't touch me.

  • I got mine at Nordstrom originally, but decided to return them ahem... several months later (like 6. Nordstrom has an awesome return policy) and get a half size bigger to fit some squishy toe things in there. By that point they didn't carry them anymore, so i ordered them on Amazon and they were actually significantly cheaper.
  • I bought mine at Zappos. I could not find anything in a B&M store that I liked.

    Great tips! Thanks ladies!
  • I got my red ones at 6pm.com and my gold ones were from Famous Footwear. I cared for comfort over getting a fancy designer shoe so I didn't want to go anywhere a salesperson could try to pressure me into buying something just because of the label.

  • Mine were Betsey Johnson but I know I found them at a mall store in Toronto at the time. Does Nine West sell shoes besides their own brand? If so, it may have been Nine West. :)
