Prongs holding the diamond in engagement ring?

Is it possible to have the prongs that hold the main diamond in the engagement ring, not be visible, basically hold the ring underneath? If so, does anyone have a ring like this that they can post. Can't seem to find any photos online of rings where this was done?

The only way to have "invisible prongs" is where the center stone is held by a bezel setting and then the metal work is covered by other gemstones in a micropave design. Other then that prongs are necessary to hold the diamond in place.

Here is a ring with a bezel setting and a micropave halo...

You could also get a tension setting, but there is still metal there.

The way diamonds are cut it is not very safe to hold them from the bottom. They'd just pop right out! There are many 'prettier' versions of prongs if you dont like the plain tradtional ones. My favourite are claw/double claw.

Thank yall for the information. I really like the solitaire diamond and while the claw prong does look better, I was hoping it would be possible to hold the stone in place from underneath the stone
