Acting pretty much normal around a woman I am superbly attracted to.  She works at my new chiropractor's office and I am horrible in social interactions in general, let alone when I am attracted to someone.
You are a wizard. How do you do this?

Haha, usually I'm horrible.  Well, I just speak when spoken to and when I catch myself looking at her when not in direct conversation with her, I try to look away again.  Inside though I'm like

  • Okay so this may be the stupidest, most unnecessary victory ever, but I just set up an email for my married name for after the wedding! Obviously it's an urgent need-to-do-now thing (sarcasm) but it's made me really happy. :)
I did the same thing a few months before the wedding

What is something small you have accomplished lately? A small victory to you? For me, last night H and I made chicken fajitas for supper. Now, our fajitas can barely be considered healthy. And I only ate one even though I wanted a second so badly. I'm trying to eat smaller portions so this was a small win for me.
Is there a way we can help you make them more healthy? That way, although you are trying to have smaller portions, you can eat more without feeling guilt. I'm all about Hungry Girl and her recipes with low calorie count so you can eat and eat :)

This past weekend I had my bach and bridal shower, so I'm working on finishing all the TY cards by today or tomorrow.
@dolewhipper That's a great suggestion and I will look into that for sure! We do tortillas, (fat free) sour scream, salsa, hot sauce, sauteed chicken, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The sour cream and cheese definitely don't helped the health factor.
So we replace all sour cream on things like with with plain greek yogurt, and if we're having baked potatoes we put some fresh pressed garlic in the yogurt. (that can be stroung but YUM garlic)

  • I've also been to the gym every morning this week.  And I got up at 6:45 despite working until after 11pm last night.

I ordered tacos for lunch.  Small victory: but I skipped the chips and guac.

@emmaaa I find that if I use a few avocado slices on Mexican food, I can really skip the cheese and sour cream.  Or try using just a small amount of crumbled cotija.  It has a stronger flavor and a little goes a long way.

  • I haven't drank soda for almost five months!

I rarely crave it anymore, but the other day I wanted one SO BAD and I refused. I'm so proud of myself.

  • My SO has never seen any of the Harry Potter movies or read any of the books and last night I finally, finally convinced him to watch the first movie.

He texted me today asking when we're gonna watch the next one.

Ha! My husband was the same way! After begrudginly agreeing to watch the first one, he was hooked.
  • Last night I did my workout even though I REALLY just wanted to play my computer game some more. Then I went to bed early enough to get around 7 hours of sleep!

Granted I can't make a good food choice to save my life, but the exercise is going well.

I am kicking ass on my homework! One of my teachers for my online class put all of the assigned homework questions on her syllabus AND uploaded the syllabus a week before class officially started. So I was done with up to week 3 before the first day of class. Now I'm up to week 5 and I'm done with the first two weeks' writing assignments (and aiming to do 3 and 4 before next week).

On my other online class, I've done 6 of the 14 discussions (I still have to reply to other students though, so those are only 50% done) and weeks 1 and 2 homework questions (halfway done with 3 and aiming to finish 4 before the weekend).

My goal is to get 50% of my homework done before next week is over, so that way I can just focus on the readings for my two non-online classes. Plus my new job is starting on Tuesday so I'm unsure how much time that will take away.

    Wow that was long.

tl;dr: I'm way ahead with my homework.
  • New victory, comparing to last year when I was about 10days away from my first vacation {still fauning over that thanks!}

Last year: backlogged at work. Couldn't see desk.
This year: so up to date that I was helping a co-worker with some stuff since she's backlogged.
    Victory AND Karma points!
  • Got ALL the grading done today during planning and I'm all planned up for this week and next. WINE WEDNESDAY HERE I COME

  • Just an update on my small victory.: We had baked chicken things for supper last night. They were small. I had ONE even though I wanted another but knew I was full enough.

I have realized it's better if I eat the foods I normally eat just in smaller portions. It's not like all foods are super super bad for you. Everything in moderation.

That revelation was so huge for me.  I grew up in a home with a "clean your plate" rule and I just kinda carried that into adulthood without ever thinking about it.  No matter how much I put on my own plate or how much a restaurant served me, I ate it all.  Learning that I can leave food on a plate and just eat smaller portions was the weirdest most amazing discovery of my twenties.

You ladies are inspiring with your great diet and exercise choices! Today I passed up donuts at work, which is only a small victory because I know I'm going to be making donut bread pudding for Valentine's Day.
  • I've lost 5 pounds in the three weeks since starting my weight loss challenge at work.  I LOVE the My Fitness Pal app.
