Dentist=No Fun!

Just spent 5 hours at the dentist. I'm paranoid of them and only go when there's a problem. Well fiancé finally talked me into going. (He's out of town). I had the whole upper teeth worked on from crowns to bridges plus ended up having to have a tooth pulled. I can honestly say, I'm glad I went. I can actually smile now whereas before I didn't. Maybe my wedding pics will actually look good now. Forgive me if this isn't making any sense. Pain pills do wonders. Thanks for listening.

  • oh man I hate the dentist. I'm way over-due for a teeth cleaning and I keep putting it off cuz I really dread going.

    Good to hear you made it out alive! haha. I'm sure you're glad it's behind you. I hope your mouth is not sore.

  • Feel better!  I know it wasn't fun, but at least you know it was definitely worth it!

  • I went today but just a 20 minute cleaning. I would die if I had to sit there for 5 hours!! You are a strong lady, and I'm glad you'll be able to smile big for your wedding!

    (p.s. How is your daughter doing?)

  • I'm terrified of the dentist.  It's the waiting that kills me. I end up crying in the waiting room.  The dentist I goes to is very nice with me.  She talks me through what she's doing and asks if I need breaks.

    Thanks for asking. I'm guessing she's ok. My exes girlfriend had lunch with her today and said she had a glow in her eyes and was really bubbly, so I guess she's doing good.

    I'm the same way! They are really calming most of the time but I had help. I had oral sedation. My future step daughter took me. Pain pills make you feel really good lmao.

  • Ugh that sucks! I hate the dentist with the fire of 1,000 suns. I have such sensitive teeth that I even dread a cleaning.
  • I am RIGHT there with you, lady. I hate the dentist. I cannot handle them. I broke down in tears in the chair at 22 over a filling.

    The ONLY dentist I was okay with was one in my old town. They had spa treatments. It was not remotely relaxing, but it was tolerable. I'd like to find another like that. I could pretend to tolerate it for some insurance-covered pampering.

  • Good for you :)  My whole family goes to see one dentist who is amazeballs.  We drive a  few hours to go see him, but it is worth it IMO.  SO asks why I can't just switch to his dentist who is local, SMH, I am sticking with my dentist until he retires.

  • I usually like the dentist. My dentist growing up was a friend of the family and I liked going to see him. I even liked my new dentist in the big city. Until last month when I had to get a root canal. Two 2-hour appointments in two weeks made me sick of the dentist. And of taking time off to go. But they did fix my pain problems, so that's nice.

    Me too! When I was little, I was a screamer so the actual dentist used to clean my teeth (instead of the hygenist). Obviously, now the hygenist just does it but I'll always give him my business even if I move an hour away.
