    hahahahah butt dialing still happens?!

Last night we went out for a little pre-Valentine's dinner and I'm so F-ing excited for my leftover for lunch today- pasta with alfredo, bacon, and scallops!!

This weekend, nothing, probably rent a movie. We are weekend do-nothing people.

He texted me to let me know he is sick as a dog and working from home today. I failed to lock my screen and somehow called him. Hopefully he will hear that voicemail and assume he's hit the Nyquil too hard.

Jealous of your lunch, I loooooooove scallops.
OMG and it's saved forever in voicemail?!? Ahhhhh!

No super big plans. Typical lazy Friday for me, making steaks and crab legs for dinner at home tomorrow, then going to the fancy theater at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Sunday for a showing of all the Oscar nominated short films with friends (we go every year) then dinner afterward, I think at the schmancy wood fire pizza place.

I brought these to work today. Nobody tell H. :)

    image
I would want those over flowers ANY day of the week.

This is the same guy who came in singing "In da club" by Fiddy on my birthday. I think it'll be OK.

Today is H's and my dating anniversary. 9 years. Left him a note and some chocolates. Won't see him until late tonight.
Tomorrow is his grandmother's funeral. Forgive me, but I think it's really awkward and kind of silly to have a funeral on Valentines, but maybe it was the only time open?. It's an all day thing so the romantic dinner I planned is postponed until at least next week.
Sunday not sure. Probably staying home and cleaning.
I have Monday off for holiday and will probably be dragged to H's mothers.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your cat @mobride2015. I hope it's something the vet can fix.

    My weekend:
Friday - Going to a birthday party for a friend. Bowling, laser tag, all the stuff. Should be really fun.

Saturday - I signed up for a glass blowing class in the morning. (I'm going alone and am rather nervous about it. Not the place, just the situation) In the evening we're going to have dinner with FFIL and FMIL. We did VDay dinner last night to avoid the crowds, so we planned to hang out with them.

Sunday - Perhaps lunch with one of my friends who is in town for a conference. Grocery shopping. And Dragon Age: Origins. I just started playing and I'm OBSESSED.

People have looked at me funny when our wedding was in July. But I say it still counts. We've been together 9 years. What says I have to reset the clock back to zero when we got married?

  • @mobride2015 good thoughts for your kitteh. Hopefully the vet can help.

I have had a very good Friday so far. I woke up at 4 AM and so did FI, so we used that surprise time ...wisely. ;) It had been over a month, so it was quite nice. And then when I got to work I was able to go and get a mocha, which was a major treat. And then tonight I'm gonna make a white chocolate cake with a pink moscato buttercream because reasons.

Saturday my mom, sister, sister's BF and I are going to visit my grandmother and look at prom dresses for my sister, and I've got an appointment at the adjacent bridal shop since we're going anyway. I really want FI to go with me - everything is better when he's there - but he's going to be on call at the restaurant because of stupid Valentine's Day. He's not scheduled as of now, but if they need him he needs to be close enough to be there quick, and grandmother lives an hour away.

Sunday I SHOULD take the little dog for a bath. I keep waffling about it though. It's going to be REALLY cold, but also it's going to be three weeks since her last bath. So I gotta decide.

My Friday has been great so far! I finally figured out how to change my avatar and GIF!! Now I can finally participate in the next gif party thread!

Not sure what we're doing this weekend, other than cooking for Valentine's Day. On the menu:
Steak with homemade compound butter, grilled asparagus, baked mac n' cheese, lots of wine and molten lava cakes with vanilla bean ice cream. I'm so freakin' excited!

    Edited to fix gif. Dangit.

  • I have a weekend of fleece pajamas, alcohol, and cross-stitching planned. I'm also hoping DH remembers that he sort of ruined my birthday dinner so he really SHOULD buy me dinner for V-Day since I paid for my birthday.
    ~*~*~*~*~

  • This has been the longest week everrrrrr.

I have a dress fitting in an hour, yet I'm still stuffing my face with leftover mashed potatoes from last night. However my daddy is coming to my dress fitting and I'm super excited. No one has seen my dress except M and FMIL, but I want my dad to see it. He's totally going to cry.

Tonight FI and I are probably going to make dinner and then get drunk and play mario kart. We have entirely too much fun doing this.

Tomorrow I'm going with one of my BMs to a matinée of 50 Shades of Grey. I know the books sucked big monkey balls, but the movie trailers have intrigued me. Tomorrow night FI and I will celebrate V-Day with our tradition of eating Chinese food, and I'll probably shave my legs (haha maybe) and there will be some sexy time happening. --Even though FI hasn't touched me since earlier this week when I threw up my breakfast. I'm pretty sure it was something I ate and NOT a baby, but FI is being crazy. Besides, if it is a baby, not touching me now isn't gonna fix it lol

    Sunday I have a bridal shower!! :D

    haha that's FANTASTIC.

Got a bacon party on Saturday then I start my parttime job on Sunday, slinging beers at unsuspecting peoples at a new microbrewery in town.

    Can't wait!
Without knowing what this is, I'm assuming a bacon party kicks Valentine's sweet little ass.
Indeed. A bunch of us get together and just gorge on bacon. Bacon beer, bacon dips, chocolate covered bacon, bacon. And then there's some more bacon.

It's by coincidence that it's on VDay. But we don't celebrate VDay anyways.

OMG, that sounds amazing.  Coincidentally, I have 36 lbs. of bacon** sitting in my freezer at the moment that I just got this week. I could totally host a bacon party!  There is also a bacon festival in my area in 2 weeks!

** Explanation about having that much bacon (not that you really need a reason for bacon): If you haven't heard of Zaycon Foods, it's a bit odd, but they are awesome. <Clicky to website> You buy food in bulk at super reasonable prices.  When you order, you pick a delivery time/location.  At that day/time, you show up, they give you your order in the parking lot straight off the refrigerated delivery truck, and you are on your way.  So, yeah, I buy bacon off a truck in a parking lot. But, the bacon was $3.79/lb and is better than anything I find at the grocery store. They also sell AMAZING chicken breasts... larger and juicier than I've found anywhere else. They basically make agreements with the good quality farms/manufacturers then cut out the middle men and deliver straight from farm to you. We've also bought their ground beef, chicken strips, Belgian waffles, turkey, pulled pork, and ham... and have never been disappointed. We do sometimes split orders with friends or family, but we never share our bacon.

I don't mean to advertise, but people always question it when I say I have 36lb of bacon and 40lbs of chicken in my freezer... especially when it's just DH and I. Which, by the way, is a very yummy combination.  Dinner tonight will be chicken stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. :)

  • I work tonight and Fi and I are clothes shopping tomorrow :)

  • my day got worse after i posted my first response.

our most difficult customer called yelling at me when i told her the manager was not in today that it was his day off. the only way to get this lady to shut up is to give her what she is giving you. i told the sales guy he owes me a big bottle of wine for what i had to deal with. the one service adviser kept picking up her calls and they would come back to me after he put her on hold. then she started calling with her number blocked. really stop calling you arent our only client and its getting ridiculous. we are hoping she goes elsewhere for a car.
    image
  • I learned how to do injections today! Butt shots! Yay! Kinda disappointed we don't practice on each other.

Tomorrow is pretty busy. We have an appointment to do our taxes, our new refrigerator and oven are coming, and we are meeting up with other couple friends at a restaurant at the mall of america for VDay dinner. I won tickets to go to the aquarium and on some rides there as well but I don't know if we'll make it there long enough before dinner to do that.

Sooo happy it's a three day weekend. I can catch up on school and maybe even ride my horse. Holy crap.

@princessleia22 That sounds amazing, I'm going to see if they are near me! And the bolded sentence totally reminded me of my "gas station cd". When I was 22, I was at a gas station at 1am after a party. These guys came over and were like will you buy one of our CD's? I was like um, maybe? So I popped it in, and it was actually the sickest beats I'd heard in a long time so I was like where you guys from? They said my homestate which was 3,000 miles from where we were. I'm like shut the fuck up. They showed me the print on the back of the album and sure enough it said my state! So I'm like shit, I'll support you! Every time I played that CD, friends would ask who it was and I'd say "oh you like my gas station cd?" lol

  • H has been away since Tuesday on a business trip and he gets back tonight! I need to do the dishes and laundry and go food shopping.

I just got a bunch of cute baby linens in the mail, so I'm running those through the wash right now.

Tomorrow we have a birthing class. I might make H get up early and make me pancakes. We already went out for fancy Valentines dinner, so we will stay in and I'm going to make artichokes, salad and scallops in white wine butter sauce. There will be lots of butter. I'm guessing we will watch a movie or shows and then maybe break out the massage oil and have some sexy time.

Sunday will probably be the tackling of one of many house projects. Ditto Monday.
  • Tonight DH went out for dinner. I ate waaay too much and am stuffed now. I'm enjoying a cup of tea at the minute. Tomorrow we are going into town and watching rugby (I hope). Since its valentine's day, town will be bunged.

Sunday is cleaning and DVR day.

It's so warm here the slopes are not the best.    Because it's so warm I might do some spring cleaning.

I am crazy excited about it. The cake recipe is my favorite recipe ever, and FI says moscato pairs well with white chocolate, so I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out fantastically.

The best part, though? I have a full 750mL bottle of moscato. The recipe calls for, like, 3 T of moscato. So there will be a little in the frosting and a lottle in the chef. I will have a good night for sure. :D
