Help: Linq June 2015

I am really having a hard time making a decision on my wedding. I was recently looking into The Linq and it seems really nice. Since it's new I have never had the opportunity to walk through it or anything. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced a wedding here or stayed here and what your opinions of it are?! Thanks in advance!

Re: Help: Linq June 2015

  • It is really such a brand new property, I would be surprised if you find anyone who has had a wedding there already. Have you been in contact with their wedding department?? They might be able to give you some more information to go off of.

We are locals and haven't been through it yet - we have been to The Linq shopping/dining district plenty of times and that certainly would be an advantage to hosting your event at The Linq hotel.

  • I have seen the wedding chapel. As far as I know, the chapel hasn't been remodeled. It is a vey nice chapel.

  • I saw the chapel in November. It looks the same as the pictures before it became the LINQ. We are getting married there on June 27th!
  • Yes I have been in contact with the wedding coordinators. They informed me that the Sierra chapel is currently being remodeled but the Silver Skyline has not been remodeled and will be the one we will be using. I think the chapel is very pretty. I guess my bigger concern is the hotel and the experience there. I know that some parts of it are still under construction. I just don't know if its enough to effect my stay. Has anyone stayed there since they reopened that can give me more information?
  • @madisonbh‌ we have some guests staying there next month for our wedding (which is not at that property). I imagine there are a few things being sorted out but it must be functional enough that guests are staying there.

  • I would not stay there. They have really bad customer service. Double charge for things and the rooms are worse than when it was the Quad. The chapels are located upstairs and it's really dark and eerie. And construction is still going on.

Oh no. This is the first bad review that I have gotten of it. Hopefully it's not too bad. We have already begun making the plans. :-/

Are you planning on staying there also when you go?
  • I've stayed at the Quad a couple of times (before the room renos and the name change). The new casino floor is lovely, but what I remember (September 2013) was the hallways were a little grungy.

    HOWEVER.

We're looking at getting married at the Silver Sky as well, and we're doing a walk through in May. :) I can share at that point!

  • I'm planning the wedding for June 1st. I think we are just going to go for it and stay there. My other option is to stay next door at the Flamingo. It looks pretty nice for a good rate and would be right next door for the wedding.
  • @madisonbh, Are you doing a scouting trip first? We're considering Silver Sky (Linq), the gardens at Flamingo, and the Plaza downtown, and are scouting in mid-May. I can give feedback at that point, but unfortunately you'll be all booked and organized before then :(

  • @madisonbh we are most likely not staying there but some guests are. we will be getting ready in my mother's room at the LINQ the day of.
  • Unfortunately I can't afford to do a scouting trip. I have read several reviews on the Skyline and it seems really nice and the packages are a good price so I just decided to go ahead and go with it. Also, we decided to stay at the Linq. I have spoken to several people that tell me that the construction should be done by June and say that the hotel is very nice since the upgrades. I hope they're right!
  • Does anyone have any pictures of the Sierra Chapel at the Linq? All I can find pictures of is the Silver Skyline. Does anyone even use the other chapel?
  • I think the Sierra Chapel is under construction at the moment.

From the photos I have found previously, it's just a room with a mural of the mountains painted on a wall... kinda tacky.

  • Also, you're on the right track in terms of the Linq. I haven't stayed since the rebranding, but I stayed a couple times when it was the Quad. The casino floor is great, but the rooms were daaaaaated (last trip staying there was in 2013 though).

The casino floor is SO much nicer than Imperial Palace (yikes! When we went during the first part of the reno when it was till Imperial Palace, I was afraid I was going to get mugged...)

I think they've finished most of the room renos, but given as that you probably won't spend much time in the room anyway, it's a bit of a wash.

  • That's what I had heard about the Sierra chapel as well. I just think it's weird that there really aren't any pictures of it. From what I hear, the Linq is pretty nice now after the remodel. The remodeling is supposed to be done by the end of April, beginning of May so hopefully it is all done by the time we get there in June.
  • I think it's because the Sierra was never very popular, and the Silver Sky was reno'd before the close of Imperial Palace (2010) and was never changed when the property changed hands. It was an ugly choice IMHO and I think it only held a maximum of 8 or 10 people.

Here's a link dating back to the Imperial Palace days, but it gives you a pretty clear visual on what the Sierra used to be / currently is / who knows:

  • Thanks for the picture. I don't like it at all! :-)
