Re: btw

  • No, but now my head is cocked like a dog hearing a strange sound.

  • I saw that a few days ago. It's a sad, sad thing, that name.

hmo - I think Nola sent out the bat signal for you sometime last week.  I'll try to find the post if you're going to be around today.

ETA: So it was Tawillers, not NOLA.  And then I paged you, too.  I bumped the posts.

    Sure, decide not to vaccinate.

But if you ignore the vac. requirements for easily communicable diseases, keep your disease-ridden-ass away from the rest of the public.  Don't vac your kids...homeschool.  Find a crazy doctor who will deal w/ you and stay out of our waiting room.

  • The AIDs vaccine would be more like the HPV vaccine.  The transmission of AIDS/HPV is much different from measles.  I'm not going to get AIDS from walking down the street.

  • @varunatt, you said what I've been trying to come up with for an hour now (in between getting work done).

Yes, you are an idiot.  Your 'opinion' is based on zero facts and is a dangerous one to have.

  • I read so many stories of kids who are vaccine injured and as a parent it is my right to know what goes into my kid's body, whether it is a food, a poison or a legitimate medicine that she may actually need to get well. Even then we are created by god with an immune system.

Pseudoscience. Do you also look at Dr. Mercola as a credible resource?

You've read stories of kids who have been vaccine injured? Do you have any real life experience with a vaccine injured child? Have you seen a child who is immunocompromised suffer through a preventable disease? Have you read those stories? Have you seen or read a story of a child who ended up with encephalitis and their suffering? Do you think that vaccines cause autism? Is autism such a scary thing to you that you'd rather risk your child and the children around her? How about those kids who WERE vaccinated but for physiological reasons the vaccine didn't take? They're still in danger of contracting these diseases. HERD IMMUNITY is a societal necessity to protect those too young, too old, too ill, or who are unable to be vaccinated due to a multitude of reasons.

Actually, you're NOT entitled to an opinion that is scientifically inaccurate that puts people at risk of dying.  It's 100% obvious that you don't know anything or understand anything or have research anything to actually do with vaccines, epidemiology, communicable disease, or how horrible these diseases were to the human race in our earlier existences.  YOU are not entitled to put ME or anyone else or their children at risk which acting as a citizen of society.  You are entitled to live on an island all by your non-vaccinated lonesome and not participate in society.
    Agreed. Factual fallacy =/= opinion.

I mean, I can say the sky is orange, but that's not an opinion. It's just wrong.

  • NOpe.

I can agree to disagree on things that are a matter of opinion.

I can't agree to disagree on things that are a matter of FACT.  LIke, you know, that Vaccines save lives.

I can agree to disagree on things where no one is hurt.  Want to believe that shoving noodles up your nose cures the flu, have at.
I can't agree to disagree on things that put the rest of us at risk--don't vaccinate your kid and suddenly, my family members who have cancer and CAN'T be vaccinated are at increased risk for dying of measles.

Get your shots or move to your own damn island and stay out of Disneyworld.  And public school.  and the mall.  And everywhere else.

  • speaking of herd immunity -- flany, you are welcome. thanks to all of us who understand how science works, you have the benefit of herd immunity. you get to live in your tiny bubble of ignorance, fully protected by all of us who have chosen to protect ourselves AND each other.

  • God helped those who helped themselves.  Help your kid get a vaccine.

This is also a great story for assholes who don't vaccinate and think the measles are a cute childhood disease: http://www.vaccinestoday.eu/vaccines/how-measles-can-change-a-life/

'But fate sometimes is relentless: in April of 2006 our boy said good-bye forever. An unexpected thrust of brain inflammation put him into a vegetative state. Within only hours he lost everything he had learned during his young life. His last words were: “I don’t know who you are”. It’s going to haunt us for the rest of our lives.'

Oh, and he died last year btw.

  • And since you seem to be one who likes to hear about vaccine injury and probably thinks that VAERS is a great source of deaths 100% caused by vaccines, here are some examples of the causes of death in submissions to VAERS:

I think I'll keep my rule of 'you can't be around my newborn without the Tdap and MMR' active and happily vaccinate our child on time at our pediatrician who doesn't accept unvaccinated children.
