How much did you spend/are you spending on your wedding shoes?

Re: Shoe Budget

  • I spent $35 for a pair of heels at DSW

  • $20 heels at Nordstrom Rack, but that was kind of a fluke. I was okay with spending up to $50, especially if I found a pair I was going to wear multiple times after the wedding. I'll probably also bring a pair of sparkly sandals I already own to switch in to for dancing.

  • I have just started looking.....plan on getting a couple of pairs....a pair wedge heels for the ceremony, flats for the reception and converse tennis shoes for the reception too. Hoping to spend about 150.00 for all 3

  • Mine were $60 from Amazon.

  • I spent under $50 for two pairs (nude ankle strap wedges for the ceremony, which was supposed to be outside, and teal suede pumps for the reception)

  • I had three pairs of shoes. A $400 pair of Jimmy Choos for pictures and the reception, a $30 pair of Nine West wedges for the garden ceremony, and $0 for an old pair of dance shoes I already owned for our choreographed first dance (a waltz). I like shoes, and I have a lot of them, it was pretty expected.

  • $59 pair of pre-owned petal pink Toms wedges. (Another bride had bought them for her wedding and changed her mind, but couldn't return them. Toms no longer had my size in stock, so I was overjoyed to find them!)

I ended up with a $300 pair of shoes from Bhldn, but they were a birthday/engagement gift from my aunt. My own budget (because I had planned to buy my own shoes) was $100 or under. Between Zappos, Amazon, and the good sales at Macy's, I'm sure I could have found some in that budget.

ETA: I have this pair, in the mint color

  • $40 Jessica Simpson pumps from DSW

  • I spent $60 on a pair of fun blue/green ballet flats from DSW. Bonus - I can still wear them post-wedding, since they're not "wedding" shoes.

  • Pretty sure I paid around $80 from Nordstroms.
  • $70 and I regret it because it was on a pair of satin bridal shoes I will not be able to wear again. I'm not one to buy shoes often and if they cost that much, I'm usually wearing them for years.  Now if I would have spent that much on a pair of shoes that I could wear after the wedding, then it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.
  • I haven't purchased mine yet but I have looked around and found some I like for less than $100. I don't want to spend more than that.
  • I only spend a hundred bucks on my dress, so my shoe budget was pretty open, relatively. I like shoes and I would have spent several hundred bucks if I'd found something I loved enough, but fortunately I found a pair I liked for $40 on Amazon, so I didn't have to.

  • I spent $150 on Kate Spade heels that I really wanted, and they were actually half off (6pm.com has lots of good deals!). Good luck!

  • My budget was no more than $100 and I found my shoes from David's Bridal for $109, including taxes and free shipping.
  • I bought a very inexpensive dress so I went a little nutso on the shoes...I had a pair custom made exactly how I wanted them by a designer on Etsy who I had use Swarovski elements.  I spent a hair under $500 but I'll wear them again and they're so comfy that I can wear them all night.

  • I paid about $100. I found the ones I wanted (clicky) on BHLDN and Zappos first. They were selling for $130 on those sites. Amazon had them on sale so that they ended up being just over $100, now they are only like $82. I love shoes and now that I have broken them in by wearing them around the house with socks, I can see myself wearing them as my go-to shoes with gowns and cocktail dresses. It's hard to resist wearing them out before the wedding actually, but I trash shoes so it's not a good idea. I think it would be harder to rationalize buying shoes that I couldn't wear again, and colored satin shoes would definitely be hard for me to figure out a use for.

I've never heard of this. Does it work!? Maybe I should do that with my shoes...

  • I spent $55 on my heels from Zappos and then another $15 on some wedged flip flops from Victoria Secret.  I wore the heels for an hour before I changed into the much more comfortable wedges.

I personally do not understand buying an extremely expensive pair of shoes, especially if you have a long dress, that you may never wear again.  Most times no one will see them and the one or two pictures taken of your shoes will forever live on the disc you receive from your photographer or closed up in your wedding album that will collect dust on your bookshelf.

Yes, they have loosened up quite a bit. My sister recommended this to me. I tend to be in between sizes. The length of my foot tends to be an 8, but the width of my foot tends to fit a bit better in an 8 1/2. So when I first got the shoes (in an 8) I could tell I'd be sliding around in the next size up but The straps felt tight at first. So I wore them around the house with thick socks.

The shoes I have are leather. Shoes that are mostly synthetic may not stretch as well. I stretched mine enough that I think I can put a gel pad where the ball of my foot goes, which is what I was hoping to do.

Good to know!! I'm definitely going to try that. They're tall so I can tell they're going to be a little uncomfortable, but I got these for a steal, it was worth it for the deal. I think if they end up hurting it'll be because of the heel height, not from being too tight, but anything I can do to break them in will probably help! But I'm definitely bringing sparkly sandals to the reception as a backup, haha

  • My ceremony and reception shoes cost almost as much as my dress. My Christian Louboutins were about $700 and my Jimmy Choos were on sale for $550. My parents purchased both though. I am a designer shoe fanatic and will definitely wear both again.
  • $75 on tradesy.com. I will willing to spend more, because I wanted a specific pair of Hey Lady shoes (that retail for over $200). The pair I got are gently used, but for that price point it didn't matter to me!
  • I went a bit OTT with my shoes so was closing in around $1100. They're beautiful, though, and I am absolutely in love with them!
  • The main shoes that I will be wearing were originally $115, but we got them on sale for $75.
I will also be buying a cute pair of sparkly flats incase my feet start hurting later in the evening.

  • Thanks Ladies,

I ended up spending about $55 on a pair of shoes that are normally $130.   I'm still a little shocked I paid $55 for a pair of shoes I'll wear once, but I love them so much.  At least they were on sale!
  • Late to the party, but I ended up getting mine for around $11 on clearance at DSW.

  • I spend about 70 bucks on a pair of shoes from amazon.uk.

I lucked out, cause I later saw the same shoes at Anthropolige for twice as much.

I plan on wearing flats for the entire she-bang so I'd like to spend no more than $100. Although I'm seriously considering boots or flats with faux fur on the inside. My photographer mentioned outdoor photos and I'm sure it'll be freezing.
