  Yeah, we lived on opposite sides of the country for a good chunk of our engagement period.  slothieguy lived by himself, I lived with two of my girlfriends.

  
  

  I agree with what every PP has said--you gotta do you and what works for your relationship without concern of what others may think.  BUT I also want to stress this point--living on your own is something I would encourage every young woman to do.  There's a big difference between living with your girlfriends, living with your SO and living by yourself.  All are wonderful in their own way, but being on your own really does empower your and help you grow.
