Foodies: recommendations for LV restaurant worthy of our wedding dinner. We're eloping!

We are eloping so it will be just the two of us. We are getting married at Wild Horse Canyon and coming back to our Strip hotel.
Just wanted some suggestions for a nice meal for the two of us, preferably on or near the Strip. The listing of restaurants in the Strip is overwhelming so any recommendations would be appreciated. We are foodies ourselves so we are open to anything.
After being together for over 11 years and being engaged for over 3 years, we finally got hitched!

  • What kind of food are you looking for?? Steak, seafood, Italian, etc?? We are major foodies too and only venture down to the strip for what we deem worth it, so I may have some suggestions!

@tcnoble. We actually love steak, seafood and Italian. Perhaps if you can suggest one of each, then we can decide after perusing the menu.

  • Check out Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab.   We've has several amazing meals there. http://www.joes.net/?loc=vegas

  • Thanks @KrisLSmiley. I've actually been to the Chicago location of Joe's. Was a great meal!

  • @hmgiffor @MinBride29 RM seafood at Mandalay is delicious. SW Steakhouse at Wynn is our favorite on-strip steakhouse. We haven't been down there for much Italian... But Wynn has a few places you might want to look at the menus. All their restaurants are fabulous. I have seen recommendations for Carmine's for Italian, but never been myself. For what it's worth, we really do enjoy Maggiano's. Great location on the strip, great family style options/menus for parties over 6, and the food is just good.

  • If you're into surf n turf, N9NE at the Palms has the best surf n turf my wife and I have ever had anywhere; it's absolutely incredible.  it's ground floor and no windows though so not much to look at.

For a much greater variety of really great food, and one of the best views on the strip, Mix at Delano is the place to go.  Book a seat on the balcony if it's after dark.  If you'll be there during sun set, book inside so you can see the sun set over the mountains and the strip to the east.

If you're simply a lobster connoisseur, Vic & Anthony's at Golden Nugget downtown has an Australian lobster tail that they overnight ship in that is huge, delicious and very unique; it tastes nothing like Maine lobster or other things you find in US restaurants.  It's unreasonably expensive so I only eat it when I can get the casino to pay for it lol.

  • Thanks @vegasgroom I will look into Vic & Anthony's and Mix. I know N9NE is over our budget :(

  • Mix is mildly less expensive than N9NE but not by much.  Vic & Anthony's is mostly just your run of the mill chain high end steak house, so I wouldn't make a special trip there just for their normal menu; I only go for the lobster tail since we usually stay at golden nugget these past few years.  It was $150 last time we went though, and that's without sides, booze, etc. :-)

  • Totally forgot to mention Mix - we got engaged there!! Agree with @vegasgroom - amazing views and everything is delicious. Sometimes they have a tasting menu and wine pairings, we did that and it was soooo good.

  • @vegasgroom - I love the idea of great views. Maybe I should narrow down my choices to scenic and romantic restaurants - not just the food. I mean really, could I really have a bad meal in LV?

  • I've heard good things about intimate, romantic dinners at the Eiffel Tour restaurant at Paris:

As you can see, it has a great view of the Bellagio Fountain. I imagine you could get them to seat you by the window if you tell them it's your wedding day when you make the reservation. :)
  • Joe's is downright fantastic, I also like Roy's Hawaiian Fusion (just off strip) and @hmgiffor Maggiano's would be a great place for a family dinner and if you're open to French then I'd also recommend looking into Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.  Westgate (formerly LVH, formerly Las Vegas Hilton) also has a Benihana inside which we were able to reserve for about your group size- I think we were 18- for our RD and had two teppanyaki tables facing one another without getting a private room (which has it's own marked up menu and minimums ).

For steak Hugo's Cellar is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) steakhouse in Vegas and is excellent food with an old school ambiance (every female diner is greeted with a long stem rose).

For views I've only been to Eiffel Tower Restaurant of the ones mentioned so far and agree that would be a nice choice, though it's been years since I've been and I don't recall much about the food.  Picasso doesn't always guarantee patio requests (Bellagio, their patio views the fountains), but if they will for your wedding day that is definitely a foodie restaurant that I've only heard great things about.

uhm, it's a wedding dinner and you're eloping.

    - Joel Robuchon (mansion, not L'Atelier)  (MGM) <---complimentary limo pickup, bill might be as much as or more than your ceremony bill.
    - e by Jose Andre (Cosmo)
    - Twist (Mandarin Oriental) <-- the views
    - Picasso (Bellagio)  <---the views
    - Le Cirque (Bellagio)
    - Guy Savoy (Cesar's)
    - Andre's (Monte Carlo)
    - CUT (Pallazo)
  • @hashtaggroomzilla - not sure if I follow what you mean?

Regardless, everyone's suggestions sound great. I will look into all of them and pick what will work with our budget and have a nice ambiance. The Paris Eiffel Tower is definitely something I thought about. I also stumbled across the restaurant at the Stratosphere...

  • Picasso is my favorite restaurant in Vegas, and has amazing views. Scarpetta in Cosmopolitan also has Bellagio fountain views, and good food. I also like Mon Ami Gabi.

I'd love to try Joel Rubuchon and Guy Savoy someday!

  • We're having our wedding dinner at Alize (Palms), it's french and views are amazing!

  • I recommend Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris.
I got engaged there a week ago (squee!) They have a Lobster Wellington on the menu that is absolutely to die for, along with the American Wagyu Rib Cap, which is the best steak I've ever eaten.
I have a review posted on Yelp, if you want, PM me, and I'll send you the link.

  • Hey everyone! My fiancé is set on Stratosphere Top of The World... despite my suggestions of Eiffel Tower, Mix, Twist, etc

Anyone have any good experiences at the Top of the World?

After being together for over 11 years and being engaged for over 3 years, we finally got hitched!
  • Bahahaha! I'm laughing because after all the wonderful recommendations everyone provided, my fiancé was very much in love with the Top of the World and so we have booked that... Perhaps we can go to one of the others for a more casual dinner :)

Thank you so much everyone! Another major thing crossed off the list!

We ate at top of the world and it was meh... we've had much better food in Vegas. We could've hit an off night... it happens.

Javier's is the one place my parents will venture down to the strip for. FI and I are dying to try it!!

  • @KikiMira @tcnoble I'll have to give Javier's a try. Love Mexican food!
