Strip tour with guests - how does it work?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping there may be others on here who have taken strip tours with their guests and can help put my mind at ease... We have a limo and photographer (Bentley Wilson) booked for 2 hours between 8pm and 10pm on a Tuesday evening after our wedding reception, there will be around 25 in total in the limo being picked up from Paris and dropped back somewhere on the strip to carry on the night. My questions are 1. How easy is it for the limo to stop at places along the strip for photos, can the limo just pull up say outside the fountains or do they have to go to designated parking aground the back of the hotels then we have to track through the hotel? the vegas sign is on my list, but not sure where else as yet & 2. How do all your guests stay together, I can image keeping a group of 25 together in Vegas will be a nightmare! Thanking you in advance for any insight - I'm panicking we've made a wrong decision booking this?

  • I would like to know this as well please!
  • I haven't taken any tours with a big group, but I've done it twice in an 8-passenger limo and the driver would simply park right by the front doors by the Bellagio, for example. I never had to go through the casino at Bellagio or Mirage, the driver parks very conveniently. On Fremont St he parked about a block away and escorted us to the covered part of the street.

On Fremont (the longest stop for us both times) he simply asked us if he could guide us to anything in particular (the zipline, the million dollar photo thing, the tank at the Golden Nugget), and after that was complete, he said that he would meet us back at a given spot at a certain time to be guided back to the limo and returned to the hotel, but that if we did not make it in time he would have to go without the stragglers as he was bound by the time restrictions. It worked fine.

  • Thanks for your replies, anyone have experience doing this with a big group?
  • I just did this at my wedding earlier in the month; and we also did it by ourselves the night before for professional pics.

For each stop, the bus will pull up into designated "bus parking". For Bellagio, it's about a 3 minute walk from the fountains. The bus parking is downstairs from the normal valet area. Your guests take an escalator up, walk through the valet area, then the fountains are right there. No need to walk around to Las Vegas Blvd as the view right here is the best view anyway (with the Eiffel tower!).

No buses or taxis can stop anywhere on Las Vegas Blvd; they always have to pull in to designated areas, but that almost never means a trek through a hotel.

It was pretty easy to keep our group together. Most people were looking for me (the bride) to give direction. I had a group of 40- all of them drinking- and it was no problem. If you are really nervous, consider bringing a whistle or some other way to get your group's attention.
  • I have thought about doing this as well because there are so many beautiful things to see and take pictures with in Vegas. My question is how do you get pictures in front of all of these things with so many people around? I mean, let's face it, Vegas is a mad house. Do people really just move and let you take wedding photos?
  • One thing I can tell you is your two hours is going to go by very quickly with 25 people to shuffle around.  I would be surprised if you have time for more than two stops since once the clock starts ticking, you're looking at load 25 people into a vehicle, drive, unload them all, everyone walks to the photo op, which is going to be a bit of a walk since you won't be pulling up to the same place the normal single cars do, pose, picture, walk back, load up, repeat.

  • Who did everyone use for their tours? We have 5 kids in our party which I think could complicate things. Is it possible to use one vehicle for a large group of people. The open top bus is a no go cos of the kids and car seats (nightmare) although if this is that case for all of the kids we may have to just go on the tour without the kids and some of the adults who will need to babysit (not exactly ideal). I was thinking of doing strip tour before wedding dinner but have decided on a later wedding ceremony slot, then dinner and an 8pm pick up for the strip tour.

This is all far more complicated then I thought it would be. Kind of sucks the fun out of it a little bit! I am sure though once its all organised I will feel a lot better about it all.

I have countless spreadsheets, lists and itineraries on my google docs at the moment which are helping to calm my anxiety.

This forum is literally my life saver at the moment :D

Oh man, I know all about the various documents to organize the wedding day. If you ever feel like sharing with someone who will understand (who is also planning a Vegas wedding) - let me know!
  • Thank you @adverb I will definitely take you up on that offer
