So A nobody needed to respond and B I had already politely said I decided not to do it and thanked people for their input. People felt the need to continue to tell me what a bad idea it was. I get it, I'm not doing it.

All of this said, this is not a giant deal. Just keep in mind people come here for advice, not to have people destroy something they thought would be fun. I mean, getting married is an exciting time, be kind.

I'm out, and I'll be more careful what I ask you ladies.

You also asked whether guests enjoyed the game. While nobody here had done it at their weddings, several had been guests at weddings with the shoe game, and they all said that no, they did not enjoy it. How is that not relevant input to your question? When asking about guest enjoyment, the guests - rather than the hosts - are much more equipped to answer the question.

@KatieEmilyC - this is the internet. People can respond however they want. If you don't like responses, MOVE ON.

Think about the internet this way, you're basically shouting a question to the entire world. You're going to get responses from "fucking stupid" to "omg this is the best idea everrrrrrr". Take every response with a grain of salt.

People - strangers! - took time out of their lives to read your question and respond. You're welcome by the way...I gave you constructive feedback. But you decided to focus on all the responses you didn't like.

If you ask your friends, they're going to give you little white lies as answers because "no one wants to upset the bride!" You said yourself that this is an exciting time, and your friends are going to know that and not want to (possibly) hurt your feelings by telling you something you don't want to hear.

When you ask strangers, you're going to get honest opinions. That's how the internet works. If you look around this board, you'll see lots of helpful ideas, from wedding colors to songs to timelines to food/beverages. Many of us spend time creating timelines for new brides, as those of us who are already married remember how our day went and know how much time some things can take (versus the timeline wedding guides provide).

Stick around, and grow a thicker skin. These boards are invaluable.

Woah, look back at previous comments. I totally thanked everyone after my first batch of responses(and I think maybe a second time) and I've tried my best to like people's posts to show my appreciation for opinions. *edit: I just checked and I had actually liked your post specifically*

I also previously said in a comment on here that I get that it's the internet and I know people can share what they wish.

wrigleyville My friends are mighty honest, I don't get upset because I value their opinions and trust their ideas, just as the input of the ladies on here. I wasn't displeased with the opinions, I just wasn't expecting some of the responses to be put how they were. But like I said before, lesson learned.

As for you and other already married ladies offering wisdom and help from experience, that is awesome and really generous of you. Thank you for doing that.

My cousin did the "shoe game" at her bridal shower and it was a big hit. I know all of these websites show it being done at the wedding, but it doesn't seem like an appropriate time. Just think, your guests and having fun and in a dancing mood then they have to sit and be quiet to watch the game... I would suggest it at the bridal shower.
