Re: Diagnose me: CC Style

  • I also have BPPV. Epley did not help me (I went to a vertigo specialist, she was very surprised). I dose up on antivert/meclizine and hunker down whenever I have issues. I've already been completely knocked out by it 5 times in the last 2 years. Luckily, it only lasts a day or two for me.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • Not to terrify you but.....close to 16 years ago my mom suddenly shrieked one morning that the room was spinning and she was holding onto the counter for dear life. It came and went while she took dramamine and my dad got her in for a work up.

The arteriogram showed nothing but a check of the veins hit paydirt. The tests showed clotting/scar tissue in the venous sinus leading into the brain And a tiny piece was shifted, resulting in decreased blood flow temporarily and the dizzy spell.

The area is behind her left ear and she now can only hear her pulse in that ear. shes on blood thinners and cannot do certain activities because of it.

Despite what the dr said today it might be worth it to see a cardiac or neuro specialist for another opinion, tests and to give you peace of mind that theres nothing else happening

    Hugs!
  • That sucks! I hope you're feeling better soon.
  • Day two. Still no relief. Vertigo blows :( ugh. and then I broke one of my Tiffany's earrings last night.

  • My vote goes to the parasitic twin.

Once in a while, I wake up like this. 99% of the time, it's because I haven't been drinking enough water or I ate dinner super early so my blood sugar is low. Hope it starts to taper off!
