It's March...6 months until our wedding month!

So excited! 

 

How's everyone doing with their planning? We have all of our big things done.  My Mom has already started buying things for bathroom baskets and welcome bags.  I'm thinking about the details now (table #'s etc...) Thinking of doing a seating chart instead of escort cards....I took off the Wed-Fri before the wedding and the entire week following (we're just doing 2 nights at a hotel, local and taking our "official" HM next yr).

    I think I'm in good shape.  Venue booked, dress/accessories done, wedding party picked (just a MOH and best man), photographer booked, and Save the Dates should be done this week.  I have a few options for DJ's and caterers picked as well, and we're going cake tasting this weekend.  My main task this week is to get my hotel blocks done. 

    I'm in pretty good shape considering I just got engaged on Feb 4th :)

    congrats@julieanne912 That is certainly an impressive timeline! I got ngaged in October 2014 and had most of my vendors nailed down that month.  It's definitely a big relief to have the big things out of the way.

    I am getting so excited!  I feel like we have been engaged forever (since December 2013).  Now all of a sudden I feel like time is FLYING by!  I have everything done except for flowers, transportation, and welcome bags.  I can't believe it's only 6 months away!

    We're in pretty good shape. We're planning from about 8 hours away from our venue so we've had to do things pretty far in advance.

    We are going down to the venue city in April to get the guys suits, cake, my veil and accessories and to order our glassware rentals and booze.

    In July we are going down for  a long weekend to do hair trial, first dress fitting, get our marriage license, venue insurance and have our stag/stagette and do a final meet with our officiant.

    In the meantime we just have been working on favours and bouquets (using fake flowers). We need to get writing our ceremony too.

    My parents are taking care of some of the bigger decorations like archway and backdrop.

    So really, getting down to the nitty gritty details!


    We've been engaged for a year now so we've gotten a bit lazy in the past few months so time to kick it back up again.


    Had my first official wedding panic attack last night though (yay?). I was working on the bouquets and while I can be creative I am not a huge crafter/DIY'er.

    I was keeping them simple and FI mentioned he didn't like them and that they needed some more 'interesting bits' I started crying and panicking because I just suddenly got seriously overwhelmed by my decision to DIY. that if people dont like them then its on me. 

    FI managed to talk me down and then actually sat with me and helped me with them so I think they'll work out.


    We've been having some issues lately with his mother not necessarily liking a lot of our choices. While she always tells us to do whatever we want, it's always a bit disappointing when she says something like 'Oh... Well thats not what I would do, but do whatever you want'

    It is crazy that it is just 6 months away. It has not really
    hit me yet. We have most things locked down. From my count we just need the
    following: StDs, Invites, Flowers, make up/hair, tux, and Cake. Plus probably a
    few odds and ends like table overlays and extra candles.

    It has been a pretty smooth planning process so far. The
    wedding planner has helped a ton plus I am not one to get too caught up in
    details nobody really will see/care about. From what I have seen a lot of
    unrequired stress comes with worrying about this type of stuff. Add that to the
    fact that, though I am a crafter at heart, I am taking on slim to no DIY
    projects and you have a pretty chill bride.

    My biggest fear was my dress. I am not overtly happy with my
    body at the moment so I put off dress shopping for as long as I could and then convinced
    myself it was going to be horrible. It turned out to be kinda fun, in fact my
    EXTREMELY honest (read: will tell me what looks bad) mother even said the words
    “You look good in most of these, it is making picking one harder and harder.”
    So in the end, worry over nothing.

    I am at a good point I think.  March is a wicked month for me at work (audit time) so I am not planning on being able to deal with too many wedding details until April.  I am, however, working on my invite order to give to the vendor who will be making them for me.  THAT is taking more time than I ever imagined!  LOL!!

    Six months out!  YAY!  It does feel like time is speeding up now.  



    Love is the ultimate superpower.   
    It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

    We will be finalizing our menu in April, then the fun of invitations will begin! AH, kinda dreading the whole invitation ordering, actually.

    We had our engagement party on Saturday night....everyone was asking about the next party ...guess a bridal shower. It was a lot of fun.

    Our Save the Dates are going out this weekend. Have an appointment with the invitation designer and still need to order a cake.

    Got the venue, dress, photog, officiant, bridal party, food figured out, save the dates going out this weekend!

    Looking into DJ's right now, should be booking that next. I REALLY want a videographer but they are so expensive. Looking into that. Gonna go look at tux's soon!!!
