Cake tasting with my MOH tomorrow, then she's supposed to come back to my house so we can finish the save the dates. She volunteered to make them, but that was about 3 weeks ago, so I need her to get on it if she's going to do it, or tell me she can't so I can just order some. I'm hoping by inviting her over and helping her, we'll be able to get it done this weekend so I can mail next week since we'll be right at the 6 month mark.
September 12???? If so.. Date twins! Can't believe we are at the 6 month mark!
Yup, 9/12/15. Nerdy FI realized it's 9+3+3. And I know, seriously! Six months, ack! Everyone is telling me I'm in good shape (I have dress ordered, venue reserved, photographer booked, florist booked (it's my aunt so that was easy haha) and have narrowed down caterers) but I'm pretty much freaking out thinking about how much I still have left to do. We got engaged Feb 4th.
Wow! You're in great shape for a new engagement! We've been engaged almost a year! We got all the big things done and out of the way as soon as we got engaged but then we got pretty lazy with the planning since its a longer engagement and now we are like oh man. we really should be doing things....
@holyguacamole79 and @plainjane0415 not me, my mom. She fell at the bank and broke her hip...and in what seems to be a trend lately, refused the manager's offer to call an ambulance, and instead let him drive her home where she continued to try to walk on it. Common sense prevailed and the ambulance was called, which proceeded to get stuck in her driveway. PEOPLE. CALL AMBULANCES RIGHT AWAY. Fire department came and plowed the ambulance out, so she finally made it to the ER 4.5 hours after falling (I beat her there, it took them so long and she lives so far in the middle of nowhere). Finally got diagnosed with a broken femoral head a few hours after that, admitted to the ortho floor a few hours after THAT, and into surgery for a partial hip replacement about 4:30 the next afternoon (despite being told pre-op at noon and OR at 2). They couldn't repair the femur with pins, which would have been the ideal route for someone her age, because she impacted the bone too much by trying to walk.
It's been a LONG couple of days. She's doing well now.
ETA the bank is paying for evvvvvvvvvvverything. The manager has been super awesome about it all, even offered to go pick up my stepdad's birthday cheesecake that my mom was so worried about (it was his birthday when she fell), gave her the liability insurance info before she left the bank, and has called a few times to check in on her.
Glad to hear she's on the mend. That's so crazy though! That's really nice of her manager to get your stepdad's birthday cheesecake. Most managers would not do that.

And it wasn't even HER manager - she's a customer at the bank, she doesn't work there. He just reeaaaalllly doesn't want her to sue them, lol.
Unfortunately she turned down the cheesecake offer too. Sorry SD, birthday celebration has to wait. He had a bunless Buford for his bday dinner while Mom was in x-ray. :-p
I have to say, I love reading everyone's weekend plans! And I am jealous of a lot of them!
Tonight I have FFIL's birthday at 5:30pm and then at 8:00pm I am going for a birthday dinner for one of my close friends birthday. We are going downtown Chicago, but I don't have to drive so I am pretty happy about that!
Tomorrow I am going back downtown to meet with my college friends and try a new restaurant I have been waiting to visit! During the day I think I just am going to clean around the house and run some errands. FI works tomorrow and Sunday. Boo!
Sunday I have a baby shower to go to and then I am getting together with the bridesmaids of a wedding I am in in September so that we can plan our friend's bridal shower!
We're packing this weekend, as we move into a new house next week (yay for buying our forever home).
We're also hosting some of DH's cousins for games night tomorrow night which is always a good time. It'll be my first late night since getting pregnant, I'm 11 weeks right now, so we'll see how that goes.

I'm trying to order my future in-laws a nice amentity basket for their hotel room for our wedding, but everything has freaking gluten and FSMIL is a celiac. Why can't I just get a nice basket of wine and snacks with no deathgrain for her?
I'm currently counting the minutes until 4:30. I was supposed to have an appointment at 12, but they aren't here yet and I think it's my fault because I'm pretty sure I told them next Friday even though I wrote the correct date on the business card I gave them. So this afternoon is dragggggging by.
Tonight FI's parents and two of his aunts are coming into town for a bridal luncheon I'm having tomorrow. We're going to dinner at this really delicious restaurant that does that whole 'farm-to-table' thing. All the food there is produced at the restaurant owner's family farm. It's mind-blowing how good this food is. Yet as excited as I am, I'm also bummed because we invited my parents to join us and it's my mom's birthday, but she's being weird and doesn't want to hang out with people so they aren't coming.
Tomorrow I'm having a bridal luncheon hosted by my mom's boss. This is the event I posted about a few days ago that I felt bad about telling my aunt her kids weren't invited. Yeah, if you saw that post I talked to her and it wasn't a big deal at all. I definitely made a mountain out of a molehill.
Sunday I plan to sleep and recover from hosting in-laws!
My Friday has been busy. I didn't have to come in until 9:30 (I feel weird saying "Yay, icy roads" but there you are) but I've been working since then, and I'm just taking a break to peek in right now hahah.
Tonight, FI works. I will probably do the laundry I was supposed to do last weekend. I hate laundry.
Tomorrow I may come in to do some filing I haven't gotten to do in the last couple of days. So much paper. Not a fan.
Sunday - NOT A BLEEPING THING going on! It's gonna be raining (but WARM!), so I think FI and I will watch one of the HP movies (..and probably finish a scary movie I have refused to watch at bedtime...) and be lazy. I am excited.

If you explain this to the hotel, will they let you provide your own basket to be placed in the room? That way you could pick out wine and snacks that you already know she can eat.

No time - it's a DW so we won't be able to put something together in time once we get there unless I did it up here and shipped it down, but that's pretty cost-inefficient.
I just got them a bottle of Moët instead. It's not cheaper than shipping down a basket would be but I think it's better value, haha.
I'm at a conference today. I have to stand by my poster for an hour this afternoon which I'm not looking forward to because my research is unrelated from what everyone else does that no one is interested in talking to me, but I have to go because I'm part of the research group. There will be beer, which is a plus.
Tomorrow I'm going to yoga. cleaning and baking.
Sunday DH is having people over to play boardgames. I haven't decided if I'm going to join in or laze around watching NetFlix.
Also after that post about weekender bags earlier this week I've been thinking that it might be time to retire my ten-year-old Lacoste...and then I was wandering the mall attached to my office tower on my lunch break and I saw the most ridiculous, obnoxious Betsey Johnson weekender ever just staring me in the face, saying "Buy me! Immediately!"
Powerless in the face of the lure of the bag, I had to buy it. And it is amazing and it will go perfectly with my rolling luggage, which is hot pink. I am going to look like Airport Barbie the next time I fly and I am SO EXCITED.

Could you order something like this and have it shipped directly there, to FSMIL c/o front desk dude?

Stuck in a random box: I know how you feel about the awkwardness of conferences kinda. I've gone to several GSA conferences and I've always felt a little uncomfortable. I use to ask questions from the lecturers but they always had an attitude when I asked them things. I know not all speakers are like that but my experience was somewhat disappointing. I did enjoy one session though. Beer should definitely help!

I should have known there would be a company that makes them! You're the best, Lolo. I'll ask the concierge when she responds to my email about the champagne. They're paying for our reception dinner so I think the least I can do is some fancy bubbles and some snacks for the room.

It's maybe a bit OTT but I am such a sucker for hot pink. i'm obsessed though. Even though it's bigger than I am, I feel like the second photo right now. I love Betsey's 80s stripper-Cyndi-Lauper thing.
*sigh* Everything kind of sucks. H is out of town. My job has been suckier and suckier by the week. I work on Saturdays so today isn't even my Friday. *sigh*

I plan to finish watching House of Cards tonight!! I am dying to know watch happens and how this season ends.
And tomorrow a group of friends are going to a fancy/ trendy restaurant. I am so excited to get dressed up, stuff my face, and drink wine.
