There was a movie about UT cheerleaders, and Friday Night Lights (both the movie and the series) were filmed here. Alamo was done right southwest of here in Dripping Springs. Austin is a big movie town...
It started out as 50 cents a week in 3rd grade, and went up to $3 per week in HS. Anything else I had to earn.

I worked in my dad's office for $25 a week in the summers between the ages of 9 and 12. I don't think I ever asked for a raise.

[QUOTEFavorite commercial right now: Still the Geico pothole, but only becuase I can imitate the voice perfectly. Yeah, I have that accent. Posted by laurenclaire1386
That accent reminds me of Britney Spears, in that last interview before the breakdown where she chewed gum the whole time. I don't know what it is about that voice.
A recipe or food that makes you go back to childhood: Mac n Cheese...especially my mom's...
Favorite commercial right now: The Miller Lite commercial where the guy can't say "I Love You" (I luuurve...lol)
When you were younger, what was your allowance? Did you ever ask for a raise? Never really got an allowance...my dad would give me money every so often, but I never "earned an allowance"
And as for the pothole commercial, I find it funny too. Let me dial my cellular, oh shoot, I can't, cuz I'm a pothole and all....K, bye!
A recipe or food that makes you go back to childhood: It's called Toad Hide. My grandma would take leftover pie crust, roll it out, put pats of butter, sugar and cinnamon on it with a cap of milk in the center. Bake it until the crust is golden and eat the deliciousness. I always loved when she made pies and Toad Hide is why.

<div>My mom ONLY made homemade pie crust to make those! We just call them "pie-crust cookies" tho...but they are AWESOME!!!!</div>
Have any movies been filmed in your city? If so, which one(s)?
<em>The Mighty Ducks, The Mighty Ducks II, Jingle All The Way, You're Invited to Mary Kate & Ashley's Mall Party, Mallrats,</em> and it wasn't actually filmed here, but <em>Juno</em> took place here (I believe it was filmed in Canada for some reason).<div>
</div><div>Edit: I like how the Mall of America is why 4 of the 5 were filmed here, <em>Mallrats</em> being the only one not filmed in the Mall of America (kind of counter-intuitive).
<div>
A recipe or food that makes you go back to childhood:
Kraft Handisnacks. I only thought of them because I saw them at the grocery store the other day and it immediately brought me back to grade school.</div><div>
Favorite commercial right now:
I enjoy the KY jelly commercial where the woman tells her husband to go lock the door while she spills about the jelly.</div><div>
When you were younger, what was your allowance? Did you ever ask for a raise?
I didn't get a regular allowance, but we had chores we had to do each week. Then if we needed money for something (within reason) we would just ask my dad and he would usually oblige (sometimes there would be a "after you clean you room" attached though).

Favorite commercial right now: I don't even know what commercials are on. We PVR everything.
When you were younger, what was your allowance? Did you ever ask for a raise? I didn't have an allowance.
I'm with some of the others in this thread, though. I don't understand making the bed. You're just going to mess it up again that night!

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.
Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Oh, that's news...as of Tuesday DH is studying to be a masseur. He first mentioned it about a year ago, looked into it with a friend who is a masseur for the Chilean national teams in December, and decided on our HM that he wanted to go for it. So until December, he's got class twice a week. I'm excited for the part where he gets to start practicing his technique!
