Wedding Woes

Happy 'everyone is Irish' day!!

DefConn's classroom was trashed by some mighty bad leprechauns.  He thought it was hilarious.

DH offered to take a pic of the bruise on my booty for me.  I got a look at it on my own...it is black.  It's going to take a month (or more) to clear up.

It's not going to be in the 60's for several days.  BOOO!

BUT, I'm going to be an aunt again! Older sis is KU'd.  YAY!! (I seriously thought they were done.  Nephew turns 8 this year.  This is a happy surprise.  :))

Re: Happy 'everyone is Irish' day!!

  • Congrats on the aunt thing!

We spent the last 3 days outside and it was glorious.  I think it hit 76 at one point yesterday.  We also grilled out 3 days in a row.  The next several days are going to be in the 50s, but I'll take it.  We'll still be outside.

The kids are on spring break this week.  I think the ILs want to have them all overnight sometime this week before they have to hit the road again.
  • We'll be outside too.  But bundled up.  :)  I just hope it doesn't rain any more.  Our yard needs to dry out.  It's so marshy in some spots still.
  • Letting the kids get outside was wonderful.  They get so cooped up in here and end up fighting.  They didn't bicker once when they were out this weekend.  I'm hoping the novelty doesn't wear off anytime soon.
  • Congrats, Auntie Conn!

DD still talks about the St. Patty's Day when she was in pre-K:  when they got up from their nap*, they found green water in their toilets, and tiny green footprints on the floor.

    * (I miss when she used to nap)

Today is our last day of 80-ish degrees for a while, and I'll miss it.  Soccer practice was gorgeous last night, I could have stayed out there for hours.  DS was having the time of his life toddling around, until he decided he wanted to play soccer with the big kids.  Toddler rage at being denied and not understanding why.
  • Oh toddler rage.  So fun.   At least DefConn understands consequences a bit now.  Helps diffuse a lot faster.

DefConn only naps in the car on the weekends (if we're running around...and a nap is not guaranteed).  We don't put him down unless he's got severe attitude problems due to being overtired.  But we were never strict on weekend naps, even when he was tiny.

    Congrats Aunt!

I'm 90% better.  DH got home at 2:15 yesterday and I went to bed.  I got up for about 45 minutes then went back to bed at 9:00 and slep until this morning.  I shoved the kids off to school and have sipped a little coffee and a little 7Up.  Heck of a way to lose 6 lbs (that will show back up tomorrow).

I have Bunco Friday and need to come up with an appetizer.  Theme is Spring "Romance" it's really a pure romance party.

A teacher at a local elementary was arrested yesterday on felony rape charges.  That poor school.

  • I'm glad you're feeling better, 6 and it's not dragging out.

Oh happy day.  It's quiet here still, but it's the kind of quiet where you know that at any moment things will got apesht.

H and I got the grill set up last night, and he built a table for it.  It's a bit ridiculous but I love the dang thing.  Now I get to spend the week breaking it in so we can grill pizza next weekend.

Other than that?  Not much.  H is hitting his Monday stride and we had a great conversation last night---it was so awesome.  I miss having that---if we can do a few of those moments each month, I'd be great.
  • Morning. I am so freaking bored. I am caught up at work (which is just amazing in it's own right) but that means I have nothing to do. I don't have a full assignment, I am not supposed to bill more than a certain number of hours to my project in a month, and I am just waiting to hear back on some potential new projects. I emailed my boss to be like "soooo.....what do I do?" and in the meantime I am doing busy tasks and some random online learning courses.

The kids are home from daycare W-Fr this week as our sitter is taking vacation. I guess this is good because I don't really have to take off from work (because I'm not missing anything).

Last night DH gave me a gift card to go shopping. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take off a day next month and just have some time to go shop alone and eat a nice meal alone.
