My Wednesday is dddddddddraaaaaaaagggggggiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnngggggggggg. I still have two hours of work to survive. I'll never make it. *headdesk*

I stayed up way too late helping my 12th-grade sister completely rewrite an 8-page research paper the draft of which was due today. I felt really bad, because I told her point blank that I was severely concerned about her ability to pass a college level English class based on her original draft. Which, obviously, upset her. But then we sat there and worked on it instead of me telling her to redo it all on her own (which is, I think, how her teachers do her), and FI helped, and when she said she hadn't ever had anyone really teach her how to write, FI told her he had the same problem in his high school English classes, and I think the fact that I didn't just abandon her, and FI told her he had the same problems in high school, perked her up.

All it did for me was reinforce the idea that I'm definitely going to be supplementing our child(ren)'s education if we stay in this state, no matter how "good" the school district is, because both my sister's school and FI's school are "good" schools. Reading the original paper does not make me confident about Alabama's "good" schools.

And then she texts me at 8:30 this morning and says, "Guess what. English teacher moved the due date. It's not due until Friday." SO I'm going to help her finish it up, and we'll work on the order (because right now it's obviously very slapdash) and get some good practice in on paper writing. I'm excited.

I'm also a nerd.

(Clearly, I should have posted this last night in its own thread asking how to tell my sister her paper sucks.)

My Wednesday is awesome. I finally had my presentation and it went awesome. Huge relief. Now I can relax and go back to doing important things. Like Knotting throughout the work day. And preparing for Clan Wars.

Oh also, we had our tasting yesterday!!!!!! We went during our lunch breaks. It was tons of fun navigating through the parade crowds to get to the venue. Sarcasm. The food was awesome, though. We are having a truffle chocolate molten cake with a side of fresh whipped cream for desert. I think I'm going to ask them to save me 4 extra pieces for myself to have throughout the reception lol. That cake was TO DIE FOR.

Super hip 78 year-old Nana is on facebook. She posts a status about 'what an exciting year involving grandchildren' they have this year and continues on to list all the exciting things that are upcoming. My sisters baby, them finally meeting my brother baby, my cousins wedding etc etc.

No mention of my wedding. So I decided to have a little fun with her and jokingly commented something along the lines of 'Oh i see how it is'

She responds back saying that "I hadnt forgotten about your wedding, there was just so many exciting things to list and i felt my status was getting to long. You'll notice that I also didn't mention your cousins upcoming first family camping trip!"

When I have a problem I solve it, but then take to the internet to request puppy gifs to deal with feeling like a total fuckup.

Also, I sometimes think the general advice-asking format gets ingrained into people pretty easily. So instead of saying, "Fuck all these fuckers, I'm gonna get my damn car back!" (for example) it turns into "Should I get my car back? Are all these fucks, indeed, fuckers who deserve to get fucked?"

I see how it happens. Doesn't really excuse it, but I guess I get it.
