Freaky Friday

WOO HOO!

I have an early close today -- a REAL half day -- and I get to leave at noon! I have to run to the DMV to re-register H's car because it's in my name and with our change of address we never got the paper in the mail so it could be done online. SIGH.

It is finally starting to warm up around here and drove home last night with my top down for the first time and it was AWESOME!

Tonight H and I have a Devils game but before that, H will get a chance to make 1 shot on the ice and if he gets it in, we get our season tix next year for FREE! Fingers crossed.

Tomorrow I'm sleeping in. I don't even care what time I wake up as long as it's later than 8. I have to run some errands, clean the house for company, and do the laundry. I might switch out my winter clothes this weekend!!!

Sunday, I have brunch with the family and then my mom's supposed to help me with my garden. I don't know the first thing about growing shit in dirt so it should be interesting. I want tomatoes, cilantro, onions and garlic so I can make fresh guac all. the. time. No TWD so I don't even know what I'll do with my Sunday night.

Re: Freaky Friday

  • I'm so jealous that you got to drive with the top down @swazzle! I hope you get season tickets next year and good luck with the garden! I always say I'm going to set up a garden every year and I don't...

Today I'm working, then making a delicious dinner and catch up on my DVR.

Saturday we're going to Home Depot (again, jfc I'm there every weekend) to buy mop board, spackle, new towel bars and paint for the bathroom. I don't even know what color to paint the bathroom, maybe a color a little bit darker than the color of sand. I hate picking out wall colors, it gives me anxiety. At least with the bathroom if I hate the color, it won't be too bad to paint it over again (we have a small bathroom)

Saturday afternoon, H will spackle a few holes in the bathroom and I'm going to painr the mop boards so they're ready to be installed when we get the floors done. I'll probably prime the walls in the bathroom

Sunday we'll paint the bathroom and relax, maybe take Quigley to the puppy park.

  • How exciting for you and Mr. @swazzle! I hope he makes the shot!

My parents are in town tonight (as well as my ILs), so we'll probably hang out and play Mexican train dominoes. Tomorrow we're going to an Easter party with DHs cousins and aunt, so that should be fun. Sunday is for RELAXING.

I want to eat all. the. things. right now. Bagel and coke and chocolate and another bagel would be awesome. Thanks.

@buddysmom80 I always say with bathrooms to stay light! I think a sand/slightly darker sand color will be fine! You just don't want to go too dark since it's a small space that likely only has a small window. Brighter colors will make it seem bigger! Good luck with all your projects this weekend! I'm so glad we're done with painting....for now......

  • @Swazzle Have fun at the game! I want to learn to garden too, hopefully next weekend I can get started.. our garden is still covered in snow!

Count me in for the half day! When I get out of here I'm heading to my moms to help her out with some stuff for Sunday.

Tomorrow my uncle is coming over to fix our sink. While I was out last night BF got sick and could barely make it to the bathroom and ended up getting sick in the sink and clogging it. He tried to fix it to no avail so my uncle is coming over tomorrow to fix it.

Then tomorrow night we are going to a surprise birthday party for the same uncle! So we have to make sure to not say anything while he's there tomorrow.

Sunday we are having Easter dinner at my moms. Should be a nice relaxing day spent with family, which are my favorite kind of Sundays!

  • I am so jealous of everyone's fun plans! Even the home projects! I have a half day today but only to go into the restaurant to work the other half, run some errands for the restaurant and then home to crash after a beer or 4 with BF.

Tomorrow I have to work in the morning at the restaurant just to open it but then BF and I are going out for dinner at a nice restaurant. It will be nice to dress up for dinner, we haven't since our anniversary in December. Sunday is Easter so I will likely be with the fam.

Busy, busy, busy and already tired from the work week. Must.get.sleep.

  • I'm working from home today. This afternoon I plan to finish cleaning and tonight I might go out to dinner with my parents to see this band that my mom knows the lead singer of. I have no idea who they are but it will be nice to get out of the house.

Tomorrow DH has a tennis match early in the morning and I'll probably go workout. Afterwards we plan to take Maddux to the dog park and then do some packing.

Sunday we are heading to SC to visit Sean's stepdad's family and celebrate Easter as well as his grandmother's bday.
  • @Swazzle - for the tomatos - you plant and they grow - they're pretty easy at least.  I've never done any of the other things you're going to attempt.  Good luck to your H on winning your free season tix!

@buddysmom80 - Sounds like a busy (but productive weekend)!!

    @labro - happy birthday to your H!

@cu97tiger - H's family loves to play Mexican Train dominoes as well!!  Have fun with your family!

    @caseface5 - have a nice relaxing weekend!

@everybody that is off or working 1/2 day - I'm super jealous!!!

Today - I'm working, a normal day.  Since H is off, I'm hoping to stop at the grocery store and pick up a few things (I want to make Easter bread).

Tomorrow - I'm hoping to make the bread, I know it'll take some time.  I also want to work on getting the house cleaned up.  I mentioned doing something to the house and H was like 'Why don't we wait until family can help' and my answer was 'no, they're not invited over, I'm embarrassed of my house!' - so I need to change that!!  Right now my goal is the sunporch and the computer room/office/bonus room (I don't know what to call it).

Sunday - We have Easter dinner with H's family.  I don't have anything else planned.

  • @swazzle I love your weekend!!

I want to keep my mom's vegetable gardens going, but I'm so stupid and didn't pay attention when she was trying to teach me. I'm crossing fingers that her friend (who she gardened with) will come by and help me learn. So many things she tried to teach me, and I thought "I have time to learn that. I don't need to worry about it right now." Ugh. Stupid Sarah. Anyhow, so this is my 'Soak It All In' PSA. When your mom or dad wants to show you something, teach you anything, give them the 5 minutes it will take, and I promise you won't regret it.

On to my weekend...it's pretty boring...

Tonight I'm going to hopefully have my happy laid back kid again. Something happened in the last month and he up and left and was replaced by a very grumpy, very loud crying, very clingy 1 yr old. I'm about to lose my mind. If the stars align and I should so be blessed, I'm going to set up my online Jamberry party (complete with custom HP design Jams!).

Tomorrow, we'll go to the barn in the afternoon, and then Elijah has a birthday party/sleepover that I'll drop him at. Then I'll head home to hopefully relax a bit.

Sunday, I'll head back to pick him up and hopefully do Easter stuff. Then laundry and cleaning the house. Being laid up with this bum leg is wreaking havoc on my house cleaning. :(

  • @labro our bathroom has no windows and is really small, I picked out a few colors I like, I'll see what H has to say about it.

It's hard because all of my towels, hand towels, face cloths and shower curtain is different shades of tan/brown and different shades of blue. Eventually I want to re-do the tile in beige with some accent blue tiles so we have to stick with that.

I can't wait to get all the painting done in my house, my mom is going to help me paint when they're out helping with the floors in May so I'm so excited, especially my kitchen!!!!

@beanbot2002 I'm sure you learned more than you realized from your mom. When you get started, all of those memories will come back. My grandma had a green thumb and loved to garden and sometimes I think of her as my guide when I planting and gardening. It was something your mom loved and she'll be with you in spirit to help!

I'm over the moon excited too.  Its probably the nicest resort H and I have ever stayed at.  The resort is expensive though (food is like $35-40 for breakfast, drinks are like NY prices at $10-12 a pop) so we are stocking up at a grocery store before we go to the resort, biking out to restaurants nearby to eat and otherwise vegging in our room.  It will be heaven on Earth.
  • I was just telling BF we need to do a beach vacation where we aren't as rushed or running around! A beach with fruity drinks, sand and ocean sound lovely! We go on a lot of trips but mostly hiking locally in our state and then Boston and Chicago. Have fun!

  • @minskat30 - I'm so jealous of your vacation! It sounds like it will be awesome/relaxing!

    --------------------------------------------

It is a million degrees in my office today for some reason. Yesterday it was freezing and today it's a furnace. I don't understand why they can't just pick one temperature and stick to it. I wore lots of layers today because I thought it would be cold but now I'm dying.

I have no plans for the weekend. I'm looking forward to just doing nothing and maybe finally catching up on all the sleep I lost last week when things at work were super crazy!

  • I'm working a full day as well, and FI is still sleeping soundly at home. Laaaame.

Today is one of those days where I feel like a zombie. I keep forgetting to do normal, routine tasks, and I feel like I'm in autopilot. I've got a ton to do at work today, so I need to snap out of it.

No big plans for the weekend other than Easter lunch with my family and FILs. I've been hesitant to make plans since I don't know when I'll feel back to normal, and FI needs to study for his interview on Monday. My apartment desperately needs cleaning though, so hopefully we deep clean this weekend. I may take a cue from @Swazzle and switch out my summer and winter clothes. :)

The only thing I really don't like about this time of year is all the bugs. I have a zombie spider in my apartment somewhere. I got home last night and there was a HUGE spider (well, huge to me, probably not that big in all honesty) on the wall. I grabbed a box and smashed it and left the box on top of the body for FI to clean up (I do not touch spiders!). When he got home and lifted up the box, the spider was gone! ZOMBIE SPIDER!

I finally finished reading The Pillars of the Earth last night. It took me forever to get through it. It was okay... towards the end it really picked up, but then the last 100 pages or so felt really unnecessary. I doubt I'll be reading the sequel... I think I'll pick up Amy Poehler's autobiography next, or the newest Veronica Mars novel. Haven't decided yet.

LOL So my boss just came by to see how I feel (she worked from home yesterday), and she was like, "...are you sure you should be here?" and then she told me not to come into her office for our 10am conference call. My other coworker (who also worked from home yesterday) was like, "You should probably go home... you really shouldn't be here if you're sick."  Methinks I'm going to be told to leave pretty soon. I don't have a fever, but I'm still REALLY congested and my voice fades in and out. I probably sound worse than I feel.

  • Hello again all! I'm off today because apparently good Friday is not a specifically Christian holiday or something (I don't get why we have good Friday off...I really just don't).  Went to BB&B this morning to pick up a memory foam mattress topper and then Publix to pick up some food for the week.  I'm going to try to write a paper for my class as well.  Tonight, I think I have to cut H's hair and then we are RESTING.  Hopefully :)  OH, and dyeing Easter eggs

Tomorrow, we are going to a baseball game!  This is our third spring training game this year because we are baseball addicts :)  I'm excited - it will be super fun.

Sunday, we are making an Easter feast for the two of us and then eating.  The end.  Sounds amazing.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @beanbot2002 - Hell yea, lady! Keep it up!

  • Good afternoon all!
I also had a half day today but not by choice. I had a massive asthma attack last night (of course after I mention needing an inhaler on here yesterday!) so I got no sleep since I had nothing to treat it with. As soon as I got into work this morning I texted my boss that I had to leave early to go see my doctor. I went and he basically said my allergy medicine wasn't doing its job in treating my asthma symptoms so I have to go on two new medications for my asthma and one for my allergies on top of what I already take. Definitely going to my allergist in two weeks to talk about allergy shots... this is getting ridiculous.

So anyway because of my last minute doctors visit and the subsequent hour getting my prescriptions sorted out, my plan for the day got all messed up so I just did some errands and now I'm gonna take a much needed nap!
