Re: NEY Fitness Check in -April 7th

  • @Swazzle - my trainer has me do active rest days. So I don't go to the gym but I'm supposed to stay active during the day. So going on walks/bike rides/hiking/etc. basically anything to get me up and moving. In the winter or when it's cold or crappy weather I'll do a lighter day at the gym and just cardio. I don't do weights ever on rest days.

Yesterday was a good day for me. I went to the gym and had a great session with my trainer. I really, really like this new guy. I feel so much better about my sessions and I'm feeling a lot more motivated. I also stayed under my calorie goal so yay! I'm hoping I'll start seeing some really progress soon!

  • @hummingbird125I am not one to do normally do these either, I don't even take diet pills but I am certainly at my wits end. The frustration makes me want to give up and go get a burger, fries, blooming onion and a milkshake (and I own a burger restaurant so the temptation is constantly in my face). I haven't gone over my calories in a week since I have been on the diet and really sticking to excercise so it's....exhausting. Maybe I will just track my measurements for a couple weeks and see what happens.

    Thanks!

  • @Loves2dream - I would step away from the scale all together for a couple of weeks. Tracking your measurements instead is probably a good idea too if you are getting frustrated.

Just out curiosity? How close are you to your goal? How much are you trying to lose?

  • @bethsmiles Your probably right about the scale because I can obsess over it. This week I finally had to say "You are not weighing yourself until Friday morning." And I didn't but it was only 4 days I had to wait :P

My goal was to lose 14 pounds and I am 6.8 pounds away from reaching it. I hadn't made any additional goals after that since this was a weight within the range my doctor advised (even though according to BMI I would still be "obese" I think the BMI scale is effed up)

  • OMG! *You're......I hate when people do that and there I go.... :)

  • @Loves2Dream - I agree about backing away from the scale. The number can be really deceiving! Once you get down close to your goal weight those last few pounds can be tough to lose. Try to be patient and keep doing your thing!

  • Thanks @swazzle ! Let's see how long I last, maybe I will just have BF hide it tonight. You ladies are amazing!!

  • @Loves2dream - I started that exact cleanse diet with a friend some time ago...the first two days weren't bad, but by the third I was ready to kill somebody because I was SO BORED.  If I'm feeling icky and like I need a cleanse, I just up my fruit/veggie/water/green tea intake for a few days, and I feel much better.

I was pretty good yesterday, until lat night, when I had 3 glasses of wine and a sleeve of Thin Mints (because, obviously, the recommended serving size of Girl Scout Cookies is 1/2 box).  Today I've been terrible--more Thin Mints for breakfast, then ice cream for a snack and a cheeseburger for dinner.  And more wine, because my BFF is having a terrible day so I'm commiserating with her from a distance.  I'll hit reset tomorrow--I have to drop the dog off at the vet early so I think I'll try to squeeze in a workout after that.

@Swazzle - I try to listen to my body.  I work out CRAZY hard on M-Th, so by Friday I almost always need a total rest day.  I try to do something 6 days per week, although that doesn't always happen.

    Checking in for the weekend...

I did yoga when I got home from work yesterday and that felt really great!

Today I went to WW (not great) and then I've been doing a lot of work around the house. When I finished with all that I did 30DS D5!

So,I've worked out 5 days consecutively and 6 days out of the past 9.

This is a big deal for me!

  • Yesterday was a total fail with all the cake. I had BBQ for dinner and ate some candy afterwards too, and I didn't work out. :-\ My stomach rebelled last night, and I was sick most of the night and into the morning. I'm taking it easy today and eating soup, crackers, etc. I may work out if I feel up to it later.

  • Blech... I've been MIA again due to the most stressful week of my entire life.  You can imagine what the stress did to my working out and eating.  Plus yesterday was my daughter's birthday so we had cake and what not.

Fresh start today.  I really need someone to just come to my house and make me workout.
