  • These are long distance jobs, so I can't use my lunch.

Well then you're screwed until you get more PTO. Or, ya know, take a day off unpaid.

  • I'm "editing" via double post again. Grr.

I lied. I went back and it was not actually a phone interview, it seems. Not sure where I got that.

  • Why is this post still going on?

  • what kind of job is the OP looking for?

"Non-retail," duh. Anything will do as long as they interview around the OP and are willing to hire her.

I remember the same thing, it was on the phone and she had to do it on a Monday night or something. What happened to that?

OH GOOD I'M NOT CRAZY. I was SUPER confused when I went back and found nothing about a phone interview.

I'm pretty sure that in her trolling she lost track of this whole shebang.

  • The people who do the hiring are not the same people who do the interviews, FYI.

Whatever. Do you seriously think the people doing the interviewing are not part of the hiring process?  The person doing the interviewing is a BIG part of deciding who gets hired. Why else would they do interviews?
  • Boring troll is boring, but some of these responses are just gems.

So, what, you want to leave work at 5pm, drive 2 hours and be able to interview at 7 pm on a Monday night
or you want someone to come in on their day off just so they can interview you on a Saturday?

  • OP - seems like the working who takes all their PTO for stupid shit then gets all upset when she doesn't have any left for legit reasons.

If you want the job bad enough take unpaid leave.  Its not that hard.

  • I'm echoing @lyndausvi. OP, you need to figure out how badly you want to leave your current job. Badly enough to take the whole day off by calling in sick for an interview? Or wait until you accrue more PTO time? Those are pretty much your options because you can't depend on an evening or weekend interview. I have never done an interview that wasn't during an 8-5 workday. Even in my old job where they had second and weekend shift jobs, the people still interviewed during the work day.
