I said yes to the dress in November, went to a friend's wedding in December, and she had my dress! So after that major upset, I purchased this dress in February.

Here's mine, right off the rack/website (Modcloth). It was a total impulse buy when I got it a year and a half ago; I loved it when I saw it, and loved it even more when I put it on, so I kept it -- even though I had nothing to wear it to. It's hung in my closet unworn since then. But when we decided to get married and I started thinking about dresses, I thought "Hmm, I really want something like the awesome blue dress I have... Waitaminute, I could just wear the awesome blue dress I have." XD

I didn't plan to buy an actual dress but then the David's $99 sale happened so I picked one of the like 4 dresses left in my size. It'll please my mom because it's kind of a cake-topper type and it's shorter in the front so you can see my obnoxious sparkly shoes.

I don't really care that much about it one way or the other. I'm a bad bride.

This was for our 10 yr vow renewal. Not sure if you can see that well in this picture, but I had royal blue suede pumps. Hey it was with Elvis so I felt as though I had to buy them!

Are you renting these before or when you arrive? They did not have all the dresses I saw online in the store in my size. You may want to double check with the store if you plan on using that route.

I love the second dress you chose, @caesarsbride15.

I am in LOVE with that dress, @damnthetorpedos! I wish I looked good in pin-up style clothing, but my round/heart shaped face just makes me look silly. Not a suiting style.

@mspenn, I'd wear blue suede shoes too if I were getting my vows renewed by Elvis.

I'm still debating the whole dress thing. My grandmother has given me her wedding dress and has given me her blessing to keep it, cut it, throw it in a bush, sell it on eBay, or whatever I can come up with (she was planning on donating it to the local thrift shop anyway). I'd love to modify it to make it fit (and remove the sleeves), but that might be more headache than it's worth.

Until we decide the venue, I'm trying not to decide on the dress or think too much on dress shopping. It may just be Rent the Runway, or it may be a cocktail dress, or maybe I'll get really crazy and wear a pant suit! Probably not, but the idea is there.

@xoeden If you think a different color or pattern would make a difference, Modcloth usually sells the dress in 2-3 different patterns and 4-5 different solid colors at any given time. The patterns they've got up for sale right now could easily be dressed down with a cardigan or something to make it look less pinup-y.

I really wanted a full beaded lace gown and tried on about 20 before I
realized they were just way too heavy and none of them were really doing
it for me. Wound up choosing a SUPER lightweight dress with a way cool
open back. Adding a sparkly belt thing. Would not have chosen this if I
had the wedding at home, but once I put it on and felt how easy it was
to move in it, I knew this was a great choice for vegas.

@silverblade005, I LOVE your wedding dress! Your after-party dress is super similar to mine.

Sexy! How are you planning to change into it? I'm REALLY not keen on going all the way back to my hotel room after the reception before hitting the bars/ clubs. I'm thinking to change in the bathroom of the Cosmopolitan and send my 17 year old brother back to the hotel room with my dress since he won't be able to hang out at that point anyway, hahaha.

@americankorean we planned a 2 hour + break in between the reception and going out after so I'm going back to the hotel to change. We are from the East Coast so dinner is at 4:30, which is 7:30pm at home. I have a day-of coordinator so if she needs to run back to the hotel to grab my dress if we don't want to go back, it's nbd.

The ring and the dress. Had the dress made for $225. I wanted something simple with the tulle and belt to be removable for when I am ready to get down at the reception. Gold dress is the bachelorette dress l/ladies in black (black and bling is the theme the girls came up with). Sparky dress (Amazon)for dinner with both sets of parents and then tea at the Mandarin with bridesmaids to give gifts(not doing a grooms dinner). Then finally my bridal shower dress (from groupon) that is a boho rustic garden theme
