Stormy Wednesday

I woke up today and wasn't sure what day it was. I had to ask H if it was Tuesday or Wednesday. Thankfully, it's Wednesday... only 2 full work days and a half day left for me!!

It's so stormy here! Lightning and thunder and heavy rain, but no tornado threat. I put a ThunderShirt on Bella, so I hope she's doing alright.

What's going on with everyone?

Yesterday it was super windy - part of my fence came down (fence post snapped at the bottom - fell down taking 2 sections of fencing with it). My dad said he'd come over and fix it today (so I'm hoping it doesn't rain).

I have a dentist appointment a little later this morning.

@Dignity100 - We've had to replace 3 of the 4 sides of our fence. It's a pain in the butt, especially with pets!! I hope you get it fixed ASAP.

Cricket came home with us last night. She is just the sweetest thing. She was very good and slept all night in the crate without crying (except the first 3 minutes maybe). She was submissive to our dogs and they all got along really well. Bax even let her climb all over him. She's definitely Miss Personality. Very affectionate and playful. She can't be a year old, she still acts like a puppy. We are still looking for her owners or a family that would take very good care of her, but until then she'll stay with us.

@CocoBellaF I saw the picture from yesterday, she looks like a sweetheart. It's great that she is getting along with your dogs in the meantime.

@Dignity100 Our fence suffered over the winter. We need to get 3/4 posts fixed. BF contacted a local guy to give us an estimate and he quoted us $951!!! For three posts and hardware for 4. So he called someone else and the new guy quoted us around $300 which is much more reasonable for us.

Not too much going on here. I was supposed to be going to a paint night tonight at my aunts work, but the other day my aunt said not enough people had signed up and they might have to cancel. I haven't heard yet if it's cancelled or not so I have no clue if I'm still going or not. It's a class where you can paint on two wine glasses or two beer mugs so I was looking forward to it!

It's sunny and warm here right now, but we are supposed to get gusty winds and thunderstorms later this afternoon. I guess I'll try to get my errands done early today.

Yesterday I felt SO restless! I couldn't stay in one spot, I intended on going to the library for the day and just knock out all my homework in one go so I could study for finals the rest of the week, and after two hours I was just antsy and feeling a little down and out about everything going on right now so I left and went to a few stores pick up some stuff I've been meaning to grab and just would up wandering the aisles of the bookstore for a while. While I was there I decided to try to read a book a week just for a little escape sometimes and to keep me busy. I hate when I get like that. So frustrating!

@CocoBellaF - Aw, I'm glad she gets along with your pups and can stay with you guys for now at least...or maaaayyyyyybe forever??

The weather has been crazy here lately, super windy and pouring rain on and off. There's actually a chance that we'll get a mix of rain and snow tonight. Blech!

But I don't care because WE GET OUR HOUSE TODAY!!!!

My interview went fine yesterday...I think? It was really short, because I already work in the department. My boss knows how I work, she knows what my background experience is, so it was just a few questions. I think someone else internally applied as well, because she said she was finishing interviewS yesterday and would make a decision today. We're a staff of 20 and I am wracking my brain trying to think who else would have applied. So keeping my fingers crossed.

I also went back to my seamstress yesterday and luckily my dress is all good!!! She just needed to fix one bit of lace that wasn't lying flat so she did that while I ran over to the bank for cash to pay her. And now my dress is home and hanging in my closet! I need to take a picture of the whole getup, but here's how the dress turned out:

Today I have to cram a ton of work into the morning and then I have team meeting this afternoon. Depending on how much I get done and when FI gets our keys I might try to sneak out early. We're changing the locks tonight and I'm going to clean the bathrooms and kitchen just so I know that they're done. We're having some of the work we want done between now and when I move in next week, so there isn't much point in cleaning the whole house yet.

I AM EXCITED!!!

@lmcooper86 - H is hoping it's forever, but the logistics of 3 dogs is overwhelming to me. But for now, she's a sweet little thing and I'm enjoying her. Oh, and your dress is gorgeous. I can't wait to see the entire thing!!!

I got a surprise period this morning when I got to work. I take my pills continuously so I don't ever get them, just once in a while a little bit of spotting. But this is a full blown period. Awful cramps and everything. I had no feminine products with me, but I found a tampon and a couple pads so I'll just have to make due. I can't believe this!!!

I think we've found Cricket a family! One of my piano students has a little boy dog, and I sent the mom a picture of Cricket. She wants to try Cricket out with her kids and dog. I told her if it doesn't work, send Cricket back to us. I think Cricket would be happier with a family that has kids to play with. H is sad, though.

Yesterday my company decided we are going to drill a well in one of my projects this year - and they'd like that well drilled in the next two months! I've been counting on not having any activity in my areas while i'm on maternity leave - and given I could go into labor any day now the timing really stinks. Talk about stress I didn't need! I have a wonderful team and I think we're actually pretty prepared to make it happen, but I still cannot believe they dropped this bomb 1 week before my due date.

Not too much going on today. I basically had a meltdown yesterday because my boss is really getting to me at work. I feel much better today and in our meeting this morning she asked me if I was doing alright and I told her that I'm just stressed with a lot of the feedback she has been giving me and that it would help if she could tell me if she could give me some positives. She apologized and admitted that she has been hard on me lately which was nice but that doesn't mean things are going to be ok. I'm still not very happy with what I'm doing right now so there might be some job searching in the future after the baby is born.

We are going out to dinner tonight with DH's mom so I'm skipping CrossFit and taking the night off. We ran two miles yesterday and I rowed a mile and a half so almost 3.5 miles were done yesterday and my legs were TIRED!!!

@GoldenPenguin - Love the ring so much. It's one of my top 5 rings ever.

Cricket is going to meet up with them on Thursday after piano lessons. They're going to try her out with their dog, Gizmo. If it doesn't work, she's coming back with us. And they have to keep the name Cricket. They are very excited about meeting and hopefully taking Cricket home with them. I am soooooo sad because I love Cricket, but I'm really happy because I think she would love to have some kids to play with, and a doggy companion.

I'm exhauted I had to wake up early today and that was not fun. I also didn't sleep well last night. I can't wait for work to be over so I can relax at home with H. We began tearing up the side walkway last night, H wants to replace it with pavers like the patio we have, it will look great too once it's done. I'm just glad H was motivated enough to start it early so it doesn't ruin have people over during the summer.

Anyone have any work out DVD's they recommend? I'm up for almost anything and looking for new stuff, I may get a ballet barre work and 30 day shred.

@TwoDimes Poor Indy! I know how tough it is to keep a 6 month old puppy calm when all she wants to do is play play play. You'll get through it some how. We appeased Cinders with lots of walks and very gentle play (anything that didn't involve jumping or acrobatics lol). Your FMIL is cray btw. I hate it when people seem to think they need to go above your head. I wish your wedding was here so everything could go back to normal for you!

Nothing super exciting for me. I'm so exhausted. I was working until 9:30 last night trying to finish a project. It really sucks. I just want it off my hands and I want the team off my back, so I pushed to get everything done that I could get done and send it on to someone else so they can escalate on them and not me.

Tonight I'm going to go home and do nothing (hopefully).

Nothing going on here. I had a gyno appointment last night which was fine (as of now) and then H and I went and devoured pizza and garlic bread with cheese. I colored for a bit when we got home and then went to bed really early.

Tonight I have to go food shopping (or maybe H will go since he's done work earlier than I am), dinner will be ST Bangin Good Chicken Salad and then probably another early night. I have been absolutely exhausted this week. All I want to do is sleep. I'm boring.

@CocoBellaF - Can I ask why the requirement to keep the name? I mean, it's not like you knew her name when you got her. I know it might seem like the perfect name for you, but she's only been "Cricket" for a few days - it's not outlandish for a family to change the name of a dog they adopt, even from the shelter. Just curious.

It's another gorgeous day! I'm going to head out later and run some errands. I've been able to find some wedding party gifts while shopping at the malls and outlets. I just love shopping for other people- or just shopping in general!

FI has a rattle in his truck. We just spent thousands of dollars repairing the computer and cat converter. I'm starting to think FI should just trade this Ford truck in for another type of truck. It's just been too many problems for a truck with lowish miles.

So the hotel had to cancel our reservation for tonight, for a pretty serious, disgusting reason. They'll be rescheduling once all issues are resolved. Yesterday afternoon they went to drain the pools in the water park and it caused all the water to backup and cause the toilets to over flow. That means whenever a toilet is flushed it will back up into water park.

So since I won't be drinking at a pool bar all night, I'll be painting the house some more.

I've been MIA the past couple of days because work has been insane! Between people quitting and getting fired our busiest branch has NO tellers! So I've been covering over there and it's been insane. Every day I'm over there ends up being a 10-hour day (yay overtime!) Yesterday I was supposed to be off at 4:15 and didn't end up leaving until 5:50. But I'm back at my branch now so I'm really hoping to get a slow, non-stressful day.

Also I moved on Saturday! I love my new apartment and I will AW pictures as soon as I get everything set up. It's so much nicer than my old apartment and I got to walk to work this morning!

I am super sleepy but feeling great today! Yesterday was absolutely packed with fun and I pretty much drove a grand total of three hours between all the stuff I had to do. I had a voice lesson in the morning, which is always awesome, and then basically traveled all over MD visiting friends. I saw a whole bunch of people from nursing school, and one friend that I haven't seen since high school! It was an awesome day.

Today I desperately need to go grocery shopping and decide what to cook for the next few days. Chicken is on sale and I want to use my slow cooker so I can sleep for work today - recommendations?? I will also go for a run if I have time. And then I work the next two nights (my last two on orientation, ahhhhh!).

Oh, and in other news, M has turned out not to be the greatest person, soooooooo that's not a thing anymore. Oh well!

I will go back and read everyone's responses, but I am just so freakin excited! I noticed he's been putting extra cash aside the last few months. I asked what it was for, and he said it's for something special for me! A ring! Yaaaay!

Wednesdays are awesome because I WFH. The weather is currently beautiful, but from 3-midnight we're under a severe storm watch. We're at a level 3, which means tornadoes and hail are fairly likely. Joy.

I'm so burnt out at work. Luckily today I don't have that much to do, but I'm so ready for the weekend.

I've started researching Disney World restaurants since we'll have to make our dining reservations at like 6am on May 4. I didn't realize they had so many fancy/delicious restaurants! I bought a guide book to help me figure it all out lol.

My coworker just offered to get us our toasting flutes and cake servers! Awwww! She sent me links to a few sets and wants me to choose, and she's going to have a nice quote engraved on them. She said she's trying to find Jane Austen quotes and Star Wars quotes lol.
