    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    This is why I don't eat at potlucks unless the food is kept at a safe temp and I know who made it and what their kitchen looks like. 

    HOWEVER, really anything can make you sick. Restaurants, food from the store, food from the farm, some weird shit you had on your hands and then got in your mouth, etc. The best you can do is follow all food safety precautions and hope for the best. Never live life being afraid of things.

    I hate potlucks for weddings for obvious reasons. 

    I don't mind potlucks in general, but they just are not done really in my social group.  Since most of our friends are chefs and/or restaurant people I wouldn't be worried about food prep, storage, etc anyway.

    There are many ways to get sick from food.  On Monday night I threw up.  It was so odd and sudden.  Only once and didn't feel bad otherwise.  DH ate the same food and he was fine.  I can only guess I had a less sensitive stomach? Not sure, but it will not stop me from eating DH's food.

    I love onions. I could eat a raw onion like an apple. I don't understand why onions get such a bad rap.  They're delicious.  You can fry them, caramelize them, chop them up and put them in basically anything.. I just don't understand.

    We actually had a discussion about onions at lunch today.  It was split between me and a coworker that liked them and 2 coworkers that did not.  Both me and my coworker that like onions, can literally eat them like an apple.

    Idk, it's just one of those things I really like, I also have an abundant stash of gum and mints to go along with that. :)
