Pinot, that's sad, but I honestly don't think it's awful of your dog. It's what happens when animals are not properly controlled, and in this case I'm talking about your neighbors not properly controlling their cats which led to the whole situation. Is there no law that would let you report them? Having a huge population of wild animals can't be healthy, wild animals have bugs and diseases.

I know and I've been worried that my dogs may eat the feral cat poop on my property and get sick especially my puppy because she won't have all her shots until 6 months. My dog was just being a dog. She is not mean and she is old with bad hips I don't even understand how she was able to catch that cat.
Sorry I was eating! I'm back. Yes, I did submit a secret to KPS but it wasn't scandalous. My confession: Oh boy. My neighbors are, in my opinion, animal hoarders and have a feral cat colony living/reproducing on their property about 25/30 cats. My large dog loves to chase them off my property and she got loose during the chase last week and was able to catch a cat. :-( Cat did not survive. I'm so upset about it and I'm afraid they may report my dog to the state and have her put on a dangerous dog list even though she is not dangerous. He also fired 2 gun shots at my dog (she is OK, not hit) because he thought she was the racoon that killed a couple of his cats last week.
    Posted by pinkpinot
Thank god your dog is ok! I would lose my SHITE if someone fired shots at my dog.
Definitely report those people. Those poor cats.

  • I've been researching PA dog laws and are feral cats considered domestic? I can only be in trouble if my dog kills a domestic pet but I'm not sure what constitutes "domestic"

At the shelter we can't even adopt out feral cats, only capture, neuter & release. We would never refer to feral cats as domestic.
In Response to Re: Flammable Confessions : I completely agree with that. I hate women who just use it a BC and I know several who have also. I also think it's horrible when someone aborts far into the pregnancy just because they changed their mind. A girl in high school did this. She decided at 6 1/2 months she didn't want to keep a baby and couldn't "bear to adopt it out" so she had an abortion. She wasn't very popular after that.

That is a good point. I agree they are the minority, but it still disgust me. If you're smart enough to have 1 abortion because you know you can't take care of a child, then you're smart enough to get on birth control. This statement is assuming though that the person is just too lazy (or doesn't listen at the doctors office) to actually go get on birth control. I realize that maybe they could have been and didn't use properly or whatever other reason there may be.

The first said: ABSTINENCE, IT WORKS!

The second was a cartoon comic strip type thing of a partial birth abortion.

It's a late term abortion. I hate the phrase partial-birth.

Most STATES actually have laws that limit abortion to less than 12 weeks, 16 weeks, or 20 weeks. Or at least to viability, because after that it gets dicey.

And the late-term abortion ban was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2007, so 3 years ago. But it's still only illegal in certain states and for certain reasons.

These statutes represent Pennsylvania's Dog Law, and contain provisions related to licensing, rabies quarantines, kennels, and the dangerous dog chapter. The significant features of the law include a statewide leash requirement for dogs (Section 305) and provisions for "dangerous dogs" (Section 501 et. seq.). Under the latter, any person may kill any dog which he sees in the act of pursuing or wounding or killing any domestic animal, including household pets, or pursuing, wounding or attacking human beings, whether or not such a dog bears a required license tag.
