I'd run in Asics since high school track team until three years ago. Switched to Nikes, and now Adidas with the Boost foam. They're so cushy. But, I like cushy.
Figure out what you like--a more natural ride, something firm, something cushy. Then go to a store and have them tell you what you need. Then see how those two line up. Just because I dig the Boost foam doesn't mean you will or it's best for how you run.
Yes, go to the Running Store. I'm a Nike girl. They just always fit the best and feel the most comfortable.
I did have a pair of Sauconny trainers, for teaching PE in the winter, but I wore through the mesh on those in under 6 months. I wasn't impressed with that. They were comfy though
