designing/printing your album yourself?

Hi ladies, I am looking for suggestions...... we had our picures done by a friend (free of charge), but he did not put together an album for us.
So, now I am looking into printing our pictuers and creating our album.
Did anyone do it herself? Did you use an album printing service/professional?

Any help is welcome!

i just had mine printed through shutterfly... it actually came out really nicely and was pretty inexpensive.  if you want to order it soon, i have a coupon good until 3/11 for $10 off.  the code is MARCH10 and if you spend over $30, you can get free shipping with the code SHIP30.  they actually do really nice canvas wall hangings too if you're interested in that as well

    hope this helps!

    ...hello out there!

A couple of the ladies here have made albums using Adoramapix.

I used blurb.com for the parent books (about $60 each).  For that price, I couldn't complain much.  A few weeks later, our professional album came in.  There's no comparison between the two.  If you can afford it, why don't you contact a pro photographer and ask them to create an album for you?

My sister did hers using Iphoto. It came out really great, but she spent many many hours putting it together. She enjoyed it because it was like reliving the wedding (sorting through 900+ pictures) but it was pretty stressful as well as time consuming. If you have a good eye for that kind of thing, and are willing to spend a lot of time working on it, I don't see why you couldn't do it yourself-- I hear Macs are way better than PCs for this kind of thing. But like PP said, if you have the budget for it and it isn't something you WANT to do, you might want to look into a professional.
