Re: What's on your must-play list?

  • UPTOWN FUNK.

No joke, I'm pretty sure I will be followed around the reception by people carrying torches and pitchforks if it doesn't get played.

I've looked at my cds and went through my music playlists.  Here are some of my favorites:

From This Moment On – Shania Twain
    My top must-play.

All My Life – Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville
Great melody.  Also, really good for slideshows.

All I Ever Need – Austin Mahone
One of my favorite songs by Austin.

You – Jim Brickman & Tara Maclean
    Lines I can relate to.

This I Promise You – *NSYNC
One of my favorite *NSYNC songs.

I Hope You Dance – Lee Ann Womack
    Meaningful lyrics

Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
    Song will never get old.

    Collide – Howie Day
Describes how people typically meet their soul mate.

For the First Time – Kenny Loggins
I remember really liking this song; this song was really popular back in the day.

    Meteor Shower – Owl City
    Good instrumental music.

    For All Time – Soluna
I really like the powerful chorus.

Tonight, I Celebrate My Love - Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack
    A song for evening receptions.

    Crazy for You – Madonna
Expresses in words what one can feel the first time they meet their soul mate.

I’ve Had the Time of My Life - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
    Makes me want to dance.

    Everlasting Love – Carl Carlton
One of the oldies, but this song gets me singing.

I hope some of these songs can inspire fellow Knotties' music playlists!
  • I think I want to do a mix of old school and new stuff, but all dancing music! We don't need a lot of slow dancing when people are trying to "turn up" as these kids say. Haha
  • Kanye makes TK's list? Ugh. Can't stand that dude.

We want to be on the floor all night so it's mostly upbeat dance music like American Girl and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. I have to keep reining myself in to keep from adding the songs that I love but aren't exactly party-friendly.
Also, I'm pretty sure you get an Uptown Funk MP3 free with your purchase of a marriage license.

  • I've been to 3 weddings this year. Uptown Funk and Happy were played at all 3. Both songs are on my DO NOT PLAY list as well as Sugar, Thinking Out Loud, We Are Family, Celebration, and the Electric Slide. I am not a fan of these overplayed songs. Or anything from the 70s, or 80s for that matter, mostly because it is all overplayed IMO. We're going with a few classic love songs, swing dancing tunes, and club hits (edited versions).

Our must play list looks something like:

Never Stop - Safety Suit (FIRST DANCE)

    Black Widow - Iggy

Bang bang bang - Ariana Grande

I Choose You - Sara Barellis

All of Me - John Legend

    You're So Classic - MKTO

Shake it off - Taylor Swift

You and I - John Legend

    Bailando - Enrigue

Imma be - Black Eyed Peas

    Green light - John Legend

    Wobble

    Cha cha slide

Magic in Me - Fiance's name is Majid

    Stand by me

Shut up and dance - Walk the Moon

    L.o.v.e

    Worth it - Fifth Harmony

    Day n nite

    Cheerleader - Omi

    Fireball - Pitpull

  • My FI and I listen to a variety of music. These are a few favorites from our playlist:
