Re: Thursday

  • Hey guys - I'm posting and running today - I read what you guys wrote -- I now want to subscribe H to Nerd Block and am tempted more by Bark Box.

I was doing a little research and found out I'm going to be responsible for removing the tree (well the part that is in my yard.  So I'm trying to decide if I should just borrow a chainsaw or get one myself (you never know when you might need one).  It's not a huge deal (I say that before we try to remove this darn tree) I just want the whole mess cleaned up!

I had the weirdest dream last night.  I had contacted a realtor on a lot of land; it's more $$ than we want, but it's got geothermal.  It's in a 'development' which H and I have been trying to avoid.  Anyway, I asked him what the restrictions were for a ranch home; his response was 1700sq ft (for a ranch), there needs to be at least 35% brick or stone on the front of the house, side load garage, for fencing he said "Fences are allowed as long as they are not chain link, wood, vinyl or metal would all be allowed" -- I'll need to get clarification but I think he's saying 'no chain link'.

I had the weirdest dream.  So after the major storm, my brother declared he was going to look for a new house because his basement got a little water in it.  Well anyway, so my dream was about the lot of land I inquired about but in my dream when I got the reply back they said 'well there's a catch with the land, it has this house on it' and it was the house I wanted, so we got it sight unseen.  In my dream - my brother moved in and took the master bedroom and all the other rooms were rather run down and H and I ended up in separate bedrooms - my 'walk in' closet was a laundry room with stairs going down to the basement.  At the end of my dream, H and I kicked my bro out of the master and took the master for ourselves.

  • @Dignity100 I have Bark Box too and Tessie loves it! I would suggest getting the Groupon for it the first time you subscribe. She is rough on toys, so she tears most of them apart, but they have sent some that are her favorites that have really lasted.

  • @Dignity100 you need a chainsaw :) and after you get a regular chainsaw you should get a chainsaw on a stick for ya know, the branches that are too high for short people (I LOVE our chainsaw on a stick!)

I'm currently laying in the sun so that I'm not as pasty to a) meet @southernpeach89 and her H and b) not burn into a lobster in st Lucia. Priorities lol

Also I did a Broadway jazz dance workout video and one of the backup dancers looked like @Peaseblossom55 soooo uh, was it you?
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @Blue & White - A chainsaw on a stick sounds like something that would absolutely kill me.

  • @bethsmiles it's amazing. We got it to trim our palms but the palms are too gigantic even with a ladder so now we just trim our bushes with it. Whack and they're gone lol

@labro do you have one yet? Are we crazy?

I have a normal chainsaw but not a chainsaw on a stick. I KNOW I've seen them though!

I really want some branch cutters on a stick. We have some high up dead branches that I can't reach with a ladder and I really want to cut those suckers down! H won't let me buy one though since it's such a 1 time job thing.

  • @Blue no wasn't me, not that I am aware of anyway.... but I wish it was.

  • @Blue Oh don't worry...I'll be the color of paste when we meet up. DH is going to be the tan one and we can just side eye him.
  • @southernpeach89 at his palest, H is like 15 shades darker than me lol. I feel ya

  • Ugh....my co-worker is just now telling me now that she has a loan closing at 12. So now I can't take lunch until 1 at the earliest! Had she told me this earlier I wouldn't taken an earlier lunch.

    I need food now!

  • @Blue - I ordered a standard chainsaw and I know BIL just bought a chainsaw-on-a-steeck so I might borrow that one if I need it to cut this darn tree apart.

I promise I read everyone's posts! I've been lurking all day but keep getting too distracted to make a full post.

I'm exhausted today either due to melatonin still being in my system or my period draining my soul away. Probably a mixture of both. I used two teabags this morning in my mug, and I'm still sleepy. My stomach's been really weird lately too. I didn't eat dinner last night because it was so upset, and I had to force myself to eat breakfast and lunch today due to lack of appetite. I'm ready for Aunt Flo's visit to be finished.

On a more exciting and less TMI note, one of my older brothers booked his flights for my wedding weekend! Southwest had a huge sale, and he got round trip tickets for $100. He also told me he wants to help with any pre-wedding and post-wedding tasks that weekend. He's awesome, and I'm so excited that he'll be here in 5 months! Also, he's the first out-of-town guest to officially book their flights (that I'm aware of, at least). YAY!

Today is basically my Friday, which is also exciting. I'm WFH tomorrow, and our CRM is going down at 11am tomorrow. They're upgrading to a new version of the software, so who knows if it will come back up tomorrow. I'll likely work late tonight to get a lot of stuff done because my department will be useless once the CRM goes down tomorrow... my plan is to take a long lunch tomorrow and go get my nails done. :) Then tomorrow night is my brother's graduation, Saturday is his dinner, and Sunday is my shower! Woohoo!

Time to get back to the CRM! Hope you all have a great Thursday!

ETA: Apparently that amazing Southwest sale ends today. You guys should check it out!

  • @swazzle - Funny story, I was going to make it last night. When I got home, DH had already started the stakes on the grill, and there was a covered pan on the stove. I asked what it was and DH said 'cauliflower.' I thought 'Oh well, I'll have to buy more to try Swazzle's recipe.' Then I took one bite, and turns out DH had made it the exact same way that you had said. It was DELICIOUSSSSS.
@twodimes - that is a phenomenal gif ... and so sweet of your coworkers!
@minskat30 - Nope, it's this recipe. Also, TTC is stressful. Sorry you're feeling all hormonal.

    @alpacina - Definitely Coca Cola... ;)

@cu97tiger YUM! I made that recipe! I hope you love it as much as I did!!! It's SO good! We subbed ground turkey for ground beef once with it and it was just as tasty.

  • Hi guys! This is a lateish update but I had to work late last night and this morning so I finally made it to my computer :)

My roommate's sister is still at our house (its been a week) and I like having her around, she cooks and stuff but I don't want to like... do laundry because I tend to forget it for a bit and I don't want her to finish it for me. And I have extreme anxiety about cleaning when someone is home because of a previous living situation so I am struggling with that because they're both home all the time and I know it sounds crazy but that's just the way it is.

And last night I had a disturbing dream where I was having a baby but I was completely alone, like I was in a hospital but there were no doctors, nurses, parents, SOs... nothing. Its made me pretty distressed all day. The "how you met you SO" thread was nice to read because of that :)
