@swazzle I am so sorry about the day you had yesterday. I would be looking for a new dentist asap. Also, I cannot believe the nerve of your coworker. She was way out of line and you look absolutely fabulous in that dress. I hope you have a great time tomorrow and I want to see the finished mason jar tea lights!

Hi ladies! It's been an incredibly busy week at work and I feel like I have missed so much here! Work has been crazy but I am getting through it. We moved into our new townhouse but are still unpacking. We got a grill for the patio and have been cooking at home so much more with it. Unfortunately, we were eating dinner the other night when it got dark and discovered 5 brown widows on our patio. FI killed all of them but we went out and got a spray the next day and sprayed it around the perimeter of the house. Hopefully that helps! We haven't checked to see if any more have returned at night since I have been working from home at night in addition to being in the office during the day.

This weekend we have chiropractic appointments tomorrow morning, which include a massage, and then just more unpacking. I am hoping that we can buy a desk and set up our office.

In WR news, I have been working on the designs for our Save The Dates, website background, and invitation suite, as I am designing them myself and need to learn a new software to do so. Also I need to research shops that can print the designs and compare prices, and then probably do a few design reviews with them to ensure that it prints correctly, so I am starting early on this. I also bought a Groupon a few months ago for Vistaprint that expired at the end of May. I had hoped to use it for StD's, but as those weren't ready yet I picked out thank you notes instead. I hated the envelopes that supposedly matched these though (they were gray with diagonal pinstripes), so I picked out different envelopes as well that I liked better. I added my name and FI's name to the front of the card as well. Here is what they look like (without names) and what the envelopes look like. I had our address printed on the back of the envelope. They don't fully match our invitation suite that I am designing, but it will still have black print (script for our names) and a gold foil accent, so I think it will be close enough.

ETA: forgot a few details. Also I did a quick mock up of the address on the back of the envelope and then realized that I used a completely different font. The font is all the same and in a similar one to the one used for Address, City, State above (i.e. our names are printed, not in script). They are in script on the front of the thank you card itself though.

@alpacina I know if I was selling I wouldn't replace a roof for you lol. That being said, I'm sure you can still ask (if there's not a repair limit- ours was only $500 so we were well aware a roof repair was in our future)

Even if roof replacement isn't in the deal. The COST of it should be. If the roof is in THAT bad of shape that it's going to need immediate replacement then that responsibility should fall on the sellers to some extent.

Oh geez, I'm so late to the thread today. I worked my booty off until 10pm last night and got up early and worked until about 10:30am. Our CRM went down at 11 for a software upgrade, and they weren't sure if it would come back up today, so I wanted to get as much done as possible. At 11 I went and had my nails done, and then I came back, ate lunch, and attempted the gym since the CRM was still down. I could only get through 30 minutes before my sides started cramping up really badly, so I walked around the apartment building once to cool off/make up for not lasting the full 50 minutes. As soon as I got home, I got the email saying the CRM was back up, so I took a shower, and now I'm monitoring email for a bit. I need to leave in about an hour or so to get FI and head down to see my little brother graduate!

My stomach has been really weird all week. Yesterday I never felt hungry, so I forced myself to eat all three meals. I didn't eat breakfast today, but at lunch I finally started feeling hungry. I'm sure my inability to last through my normal workout is linked to all that. Ugh. I also threw up during lunch, but I think it's because my baby carrots went bad. My body immediately rejected them but kept everything else down. Here's to hoping tomorrow is better.

Not sure what we're doing for dinner tonight... depends on how bad traffic is. It's taken us upwards of 2 hours to get my brother's school before on a Friday night. I'm crossing my fingers that leaving at 4:30pm will keep us ahead of traffic.

Anywho, tomorrow afternoon FI wants to see a movie (maybe Pitch Perfect 2), and then tomorrow night is my little brother's celebratory dinner. Sunday afternoon is my shower (YAY!), and Sunday night is GoT/starting thank you notes/putting away all of our wonderful new things/eating Whataburger because I will likely already be hungover from the mimosas.

RE: babies. What in the ever loving hell is wrong with so many of your MILs/coworkers/family? Holy crap! I don't know why people feel so entitled to know every little detail of everyone else's lives. Wow. I'm sorry you guys have to put up with so much nagging and crazyness! Also, I buy huge packs of pregnancy tests because I'm super paranoid about getting KTFU. If anything feels off with my body, I usually pee on a stick just to eliminate the possibility as quickly as possible. I do still feel really odd buying them, even though I'm a grown woman who can do what I please. For some reason there's a stigma around a woman buying pee sticks, regardless of age, income, or relationship status. Weird.

@AlPacina I've never bought a house, so I have no advice.

However, I'd definitely call your realtor's manager ASAP if you feel that she isn't properly representing your interests. You're her client-- it's her job to look out for you and properly present you and your BF's concerns.

GOOD NEWS!!! Even though I know most of you aren't here anymore.

Apparently it got back to the seller that the roof was the only part of the inspection we had concerns about. She already had a roof inspector come and he concluded it needs a full replacement, and is beyond just maintenance-type repair. So....... She's going to replace the roof! We didn't even ask for it. It's obvious she wants everything to go as smooth as possible.

So BF and I get all excited. And then later he texts me "They're probably just going to put a cheap roof on there". I'm like "I DON'T CARE! If it means we're done negotiating, and all we have left to worry about is the appraisal, and we won't be spending money on a new roof any time soon? I am so okay with that!"

Now I'm all giddy and don't want to work. The sun is shining, I'm getting an amazing home, and it's almost the weekend! Thanks again everyone for all your support and advice. I'm so glad this worked out the way it did.

ETA: It appears our realtor is really bad with e-mail. When I spoke to her on the phone she finally was able to grasp why we were so concerned. I really think talking on the phone is the way to do it from now on. I once again love her as much as I did at the beginning.

I got annoyed with my test program today and gave up. I almost have it working and I think it should be working by early next week. I have to demonstrate it to my manager next Thursday evening, so I still have time.

FI had a rough day too, so he insisted on doing a shot when we got home. He did one of vodka and I had tequila, and since we didn't have limes I squeezed lime juice into my mouth as a chaser (his idea). I figured you ladies would appreciate that. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
