How was everyone's weekend?
I got a few things done, but I do not feel productive at all. I had two things on my to do list - plant my garden, sand the deck. Neither got done.
I did however get a great start on decluttering my dining room.
I cleaned the kitchen spotless Saturday, but then I made banana bread and that all went away. It was worth it.
The rest was being consumed with Netflix.
Re: How was your weekend?
Tried on my wedding dress for the first time and other than some hemming and covering up some of the major cleavage action I had going on, I don't think my seamstress will have much to do!
Got to see AP win the Triple Crown and had a kick ass "Door County" chicken salad sandwich on Saturday.
Yesterday I took a 3 hour nap and still went to bed on time and didn't lay awake.
It was a good weekend.
I'm at the breaking point with this wedding nonsense! We went up to FI's parents this weekend for my shower and hair trial. FMIL asked two people to be ushers when she was specifically told not to - and bought them matching ties in the wedding colors. I was also informed that the two girls I told her would NOT be in the wedding got their matching outfits as well. Since Friday she has added 5 people to the guest list.
The hair stylist was just not very good, so I never got to see how my hair will be because she got it completely wrong the first time and we were out of time.
The shower was very nice, and I met a bunch of FI's relatives for the first time. Only 1 person from FI's family bought from the registry, so I got a bunch of random gifts. Some were thoughtful, but some the givers made a big deal about telling the room they were re-gifted. FMIL is a dental hygienist and gave me a sample electric toothbrush from her supply closet! And this pewter serving dish was an interesting choice from someone who has never met me.
You really just have to laugh at this point. Last night she called me to make sure it was ok that she told her sister's daughter-in-law's mother that she could come to the wedding. Really??
My mom was like "WTF? This is a wedding, not a circus!"
I said "I DISAGREE!!!"
I got the majority of the curtains up. There was only one I still need to do in the kitchen. I feel so much better only having one more curtain rod to put up!
Banana, I can also feel your pain on the ceiling. We discovered a leak in our bathtub that leaked water down into our kitchen. So Saturday H decided to pull off all the bad dry wall and attempt to find the leak. Good news is that we figured out where the leak was coming from, but the bad news is that we have a huge hole in our kitchen ceiling that's sorta in the shape of a penis.
On Sunday, we went to BIL's house for dinner. It was delicious!
I also finalized the plans for H's birthday next month. Now I just need to get his present. I had boudoir photos taken back on May 1st. I got my online preview a few days later. Once I gave them the prints I wanted, I was supposed to have my edited images back in 72 hours. I am still waiting on them. I have sent a few emails and will be calling if I don't hear anything by tomorrow. I still need to order the photo book, so I need to do that soon so it arrives on time.
@banana468 I don't mind it, although it's not anything I needed! It's funny that the wedding is a sort of seashell theme because it's a clambake, but she had no idea!
This is my table number
It certainly doesn't top the tea set from the other shower!
Oh ALSO - My cousin got engaged this weekend!
I had heard that he was planning to wait until after my wedding, but his fiancée texted me on Friday with the news - but I haven't really heard it from anyone else... so is it a secret?? Is it just because he's a guy and my family isn't as excited or do they not know or has he been overshadowed by my approaching wedding craziness? My aunt (it's her son) definitely knew at my shower but didn't want to discuss it because she said it was "my day" (it was the shower with FI's family, who have never met my cousin, so double who cares!).
He and the fiancée are away at the beach, so maybe they are waiting until they get home. But I want to talk about it, darn it!! lol
My cousin called to tell me that she's pregnant ("you're going to be a big cousin!"), so that was awesome.
Aaaaand we decided that I was going to resign in September. It took me a while to grow enough of a backbone to decide that yes, I am allowed to leave a job that makes me cry before each shift. Now I just have to get through the meeting with my supervisor tomorrow, for whom I have a whole LOT of respect. I hate having people disappointed in me.
BUT! This is the weekend we have a whirlwind trip to Montreal to see U2. So all in all, pretty good.
Last week my boss came in to work super early before a business trip and noticed that the alarm was not set. He figured someone just forgot before they left the night before, but then kept hearing weird noises and was thoroughly creeped out.
I felt pretty productive, actually! On Friday night I went out for a friend's new job celebration. I wanted to get home early-ish to clean but my ride wouldn't leave.
On Saturday I got my car washed, went to the groceries, did laundry, etc. Then FI and I went to a birthday party for his aunt and then I went into the city for dinner with friends.
Sunday I slept in and watched tv for a few hours and tried to allow myself to relax. FI and I ran some errands and I did a bunch of wedding stuff I've been putting off so I felt good about it!
