I'm quite bored this morning so I've been thinking about the stuff I want to do/learn/accomplish this summer.
This will be the first summer in several years that I haven't been in grad school and/or busy planning a wedding, or taking undergrad summer classes, or driving long distance to visit H (the first year we met we lived about 4 hours apart). So now I get to do stuff.
There's things I want to learn how to cook; (already learned how to make bread from scratch!), I want to learn to make mozzarella from scratch, and pizza crust, and some other random things that sound delicious
I need to rehab my old desk (it was my mom's when she was a kid and now I've had it my whole life and it's moved to all of my apartments and houses with me, so it needs some love at this point) and rehab a coffee table that was donated to me by my grandma when I was in college (it's circa 1960 and has also been through a lot). I already re-built/re-finished/re-covered an old chair which was pretty fun and it didn't turn out to be a disaster lol.
And then there's some places we want to go to. As always, we're also working on our garden and growing vegetables and herbs. (These will be so very useful when I figure out how to make that mozzarella and pizza crust!)
What are you doing?
Re: What's on your summer to-do list?
We also want to take some time off and go away for a quick summer weekend- we're deciding between Block Island or camping in Acadia...
My ToDo list:
-Read at least 3 books
-Go camping
-Go fishing at least every other weekend
-Hike 2-3 times a month
-Get pregnant haha
-Day trip somewhere we haven't been yet
H is starting a certification class and will be gone Monday and Wednesday evenings. So I want to make them productive at home. There is still lots to do, I haven't hung up all of our pictures yet, so that is something I want to do. The basement is still a mess with some unpacked boxes. I also purchased a few project pieces of furniture and H has been teasing me since I haven't started them yet. I'm just going to start working on them while he is gone.
We are also planning a big BBQ for the end of the summer, so that is my goal to get the house in good shape!
I also hope to get pregnant over the summer!
