Re: Wishful Wednesday

  • @hummingbird125 - i think you will. its gorgeous and the weather is really nice.
  • @Peaseblossom55 it's cool. I'm doing a one month free trial (just google for the code. It's like fitfusionone or something) but they have lots of different options! Even prenatal workouts ;)
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

@Hummingbird125 You'll get to see LOTS of all color even in November! Our peak leaf season is typically late October/early November so there will still be a ton of stuff on the trees. I hope you love NC when you visit!

  • I just finished all of Criminal Minds on Netflix.

    I wish there was more.

    My heart is broken.

Aww thank you everyone! Okay I am feeling much better. Also the binary code isn't meaningless, as we knew some of our friends would think to translate it (I think I am also going to put a little note on our website somewhere with a link to a Binary to ASCII translator and the codes if others want to know....I haven't decided on that yet).

The binary frame on the front says 7.15.2016 on the top and bottom and 0715 (I believe; it's some variant of month and day but I don't remember exactly what I used) down the sides. The back has two seperate thoughts with the one gold heart in the middle seperating them. The first is a Portal joke: "The cake is not a lie. It is cannoli cream filled". The second was a shortened version of a sign I have seen on Pinterest: "Our wedding will have an open bar and will be heavily photographed. You have been warned." We wanted to inject some humor into it without it being too in your face.

ETA: FI came up with the sayings on the back, and many of our guests will get a kick out of them.

  • @Swazzle - I'm with @jenjen047...I run so slowly that I have to force myself not to beat myself up about it.  I average these days about a 12-minute mile...when I ran my half-marathon a year ago, I think I ran an 11:30 pace the whole time.  The fastest I've EVER run in my life was a 9-minute mile pace for a 5k, and I wanted to collapse when it was over.  When I started back to running earlier this spring, I could go for about 15 seconds without having to stop and walk.  Now I can do nearly 30 minutes.  Just stick with it!  If you need more structure, I highly recommend the Couch-to-5k plan.  You can download the app, or just look online.  It's a 9-week run/walk program that takes you from walking with a little bit of jogging to jogging roughly 3 miles.  I'm about to finish my second round through the program and it's helped get me back into running after over a year off.

I wish...that the letter that I KNOW Mr. H sent me 3 weeks ago would get here.  He told me he put a surprise for me in it, and I am the least patient person in the world.

I wish...that it was 6 weeks from now and I was getting ready to actually move in to my new apartment in my new city and starting my new adventure.

I wish...that I could drink all the red wine I want without bad hangovers.
  • @aurorarose41 - those are adorable!!!!!
  • @jenjen047, @futuremrshistorian - Thanks for the tips and info! I'm actually totally fine with my pace/speed and having to stop and walk when necessary. I'm not a runner and I hate any form of working out. I'm really not kidding when I say I just went from doing absolutely no form of exercise or activity for many, many months to running outside with H the other day. I think it's pretty normal to be sore and find it challenging.

I've tried C25K a few times in the past and I get bored with it and quit.

  • @swazzle the only times I've been successful with running is if there is a 5k at the end aka I have to lol. It helps if there's a cute shirt. :) I know you're more of a lets just run to get in shape and not dreaming of running a marathon but a 5k or 3k may just be a fun thing to do with H at the end of it :) we took about two months for all 3 races we've done (and I didn't even run the one race cause stomach issues and the fact I had just lost 15 lbs by diarrhea/vomiting and wasn't eating normally yet...) I had made it up to 5k distance BEFORE I got sick so I kinda consider it a win! Our 3k at the zoo and 5k at H's workplace were more fun (there was beer at the end of the one and the other was through a zoo lol. I only run fun races and I never win)

  • Yaaaaaay hump day!  (Also known as woooooo 4-day wedding weekend! <3)

I'm wishing my truck would pack itself for my decor trip to the venue tomorrow ;)  Eeek.

I'm trying to finish up my last few DIYs that I had to put off because of a competition and trying not to stress too much about the wedding at the same time.  I'm pretty good about it...ultimately my officiant + license will be there, as well as our parents, the photographer, and some yummy food.  Soooo.... the bases are covered and anything else is just a bonus.

I'm trying to not daydream too much because its distracting ;)  that and I don't want to accidentally go a little "doomsday" haha.
