Complaints

Put your complaints here.

Yesterday I came home to a note shoved in my door saying the local village will be pumping out our septic today and a layout of our parcel with the structures.
I didn't even know we had a septic, neither did our landlord (MIL).
OK, NBD, it's out of my control and I can't do anything about it.

This morning I noticed something in the yard and go to check on it.  They've already dug up a portion of my back yard and decided to use my wheelbarrow to hold the dirt.  Seriously?  My poor wheelbarrow is on it's last legs.

My mailbox now rocks back and forth from when they knocked it paving the road a couple weeks ago.  Am I going to have to shell out money to replace my wheelbarrow and fix the lawn where they've dug it up now too?

Re: Complaints

  • Complaints:

It's going to be like almost 100% humidity here later today, which means utter, total frizz for me later.  Ugh!

There's only one episode left of Game of Thrones, and since I am seriously addicted to that show, I'm bummed

I am off tomorrow (good thing!) so today is going to draaaagggg by.

    Lol- that's all I got!

  • I have a hangover ><
  • It's Thursday and not the end of Friday yet.  :(

  • Complaints -

    - We don't have cable so I can never, ever watch the Yankees play unless we go to a bar or H streams it off the computer (which is usually super shitty quality). Looked at their schedule for the next few weeks and almost every single game is on YES. Which leads to another complaint that cable is way too expensive.

    - Someone's using power tools somewhere in my building - it's way too early for this much noise.

    - We're going away this weekend and have to leave our dog at a kennel. I'm pissed that we can't leave him with my in-laws (who would gladly take him) because their dog attacked ours a few weeks ago. So instead I get to spend a ton of money to leave him in a strange place that he'll hate, instead of for free with my in-laws, where he would've gotten spoiled silly.
  • DH is still sleeping.   He goes to bed before me and wakes up after me.   I'm jealous.  Partly because he is sleeping.  The other part is if he is sleeping I'm responsible for the dogs.  Well at least the rescue.  The bulldog we mostly have to wake up.  Seriously, the bulldog will sleep until 11am if given the chance.   (Maybe I'm jealous of him sleeping in too?)

This is my first weekend working both Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Which means my next time I can sleep in is the following Sunday.

  • @paperpusher I'm surprised that your MIL didn't know that you had a septic tank. We have septic in our town - the town maintains the tanks and we're responsible for the line to the house. Your post did remind me that I need to check with our village office to see when they'll be pumping ours out (happens every two years, supposedly).
  • Complaints:

1.) I bought a super cute new maxi skirt yesterday, got it home, and realized I have nothing I can wear it with.

    2.) I am not a gabillionaire.

3.) I really want to get a Starbucks this morning but I am too lazy to get off my ass.

  • I've had one night in my own bed in the past 10. I get home tonight but leave next Thursday for another 5 nights away.

I'm mildly hungover but mostly just have an upset stomach. Which sucks because I'm onsite with a client with office hours that no one is attending - in a place where I was warned I can't leave my stuff unattended. So I'll need to shut everything down to go hunting for a bathroom, during which time someone might actually come out and want to talk to me. I really just want a nap, a bathroom and a diet coke, in no particular order.

I'm in the middle of heat and humidity and my hair products aren't doing any good. I have a huge mass of frizz - though I guess it doesn't matter since I'm sitting alone in a conference room.

I have to go into the office tomorrow. I'd work from home but haven't been in for so long that I can't avoid it. I get home at 8:30 tonight so I can't even justify coming in late. Blah.

  • More:

I just got an email from one of the staff members who services an important program I and a bunch of other people use for our job. It's been glitching and that's not good. He told me weeks ago that he sent an email to the company's support. He just reported that they have not been responding at all to phone calls or emails. That's really swell.

  • We bought a new lawn tractor last Saturday from Lowes and scheduled delivery for Wednesday afternoon between 1:30 and 5:30. Got a call Tuesday afternoon to confirm delivery, except the time frame changed to between 12 and 4. So then I had to rearrange my work day in order to get home in time.

Then on Wednesday I was waiting around all afternoon and they didn't even show up during the window they gave me. Lowes finally got there around 5:15.......with the WRONG MOWER.

They said they would go get the right mower and be back in an hour. We waited another TWO hours for them to come back.

We did finally get our mower, but after multiple conversations with the store manager and the delivery guys, NO ONE apologized even a single time for the inconvenience or screw ups. Apparently customer service is dead.

Plus we still had to now the lawn since it is supposed to rain for the next 10 days, and we didn't finish until after 8. Grrrrr.
  • FI put the truck in the garage before he left two months ago and now needs me to drive it 8hrs to hand it off to him. The battery is disconnected since we knew it might be sitting all summer and it's so tight in the garage I have no idea how he got it in there (garage is so small the bumper has to be touching the back wall to close the door). Now I'm terrified to get it out and not take out the side of the garage, and I have to take the time to get the oil changed and everything checked out before driving it Sunday.

  • Another complaint - possibly TMI?

I recently went off hormonal BC and while it's nice to have a sex drive, the heavy periods suck and I know when it's coming because I eat like a freaking cow. Last night I came home from work, made nachos and ate half a bag of skinnypop before I even made dinner.

Oh yeah, I went off the hormonal stuff after the wedding because I feel so "off" on it. No sex drive, bad mood swings and I never felt like "me." But, now I get cramps over a week before my period is due and I only used to get them the day-of. So that sucks.

Also, for fellow frizz-sisters, I think I have finally tamed the beast. I bought a sample size "Big Sexy Hair volumizing gel" (I have very fine, flat hair). I put that in before blow-dry, then use Osis brand finishing serum after some flat-ironing. Both are finds at Ulta 3 stores. Yesterday, when we had a rain storm so humidity was high, my hair stayed smooth and didn't go into it's wacky waves! This is a Big Deal for me. Unfortunately those are salon products so they're expensive, but finally, finally something's working!

  • My complaint is that my dog's autopsy showed that she was completely misdiagnosed, and even though they probably couldn't have done anything (and I probably would have had to make the big decision), it is very unsettling.

How can a perforation in the intestine have almost no warning?? She went from fine to gone in just over 12 hours.

Here's my girl just a couple weeks ago, letting me know her dinner was late.

I have a feeling I'll be posting in here a lot.
I've got bad news... it gets worse as you get older.

I started having hot flashes recently.      Oh the joys of being biologically a female.

  • @thisismynickname - I'm so jealous that you found a way to combat the humidity making your hair frizzy. I have normal thickness hair that's naturally wavy, not quite curly. I haven't found a single thing that keeps it from frizzing when I straighten it or makes the waves look nice when I don't. So basically I spend the entire summer with my hair in a ponytail, which is no fun and makes me look 12.

I'm in the same boat. Summers are agonizingly slow for me at work. I took 2 sick days this week because I was feeling under the weather, and the week is STILL dragging. Ugh.

  • Complaints!

-I like to plan ahead, and since we're getting married in our home town, not our current town, I booked some days off around a weekend mid July in order to get all the last minute things done. Hair trial, dress fitting, get marriage license, get event insurance etc and meet with officiant. It's probably the last opportunity for FI and I to get there together before the wedding. First FI's schedule gets changed so he's no longer off that weekend. So we had to flip a bunch of things around to make it work. Now that we have the time organized I contacted my officiant to set a meeting and she's away that weekend. I just want to have everything done! Will life stop getting in my way!

-They are apparently putting in a side walk on our side of the street. Which is great. Except I live in a townhouse that's parking lot has one entrance off the street. And they gave us one days notice that we will have 'intermittent, restricted access' to our parking lot for 3 weeks.

    SO MUCH SAME.

My truck decided it was a good week for it's third suicide attempt, slapping us with a nice hefty mechanic's bill.
  • Complaints:

My favorite restaurant is closing (the chef is opening his own place). The only rez we were able to get before they close was for 10pm tonight, but we've got friends coming to town, so had to cancel. So that we could go to a different, also amazing restaurant. First world problems.

FI dated someone for several years before we met (well over a year passed between their breakup and our meeting). She's happily married now to someone else, but apparently can't move past the fact that FI didn't want to marry her. She and her mother have both tried to bring drama into our relationship (weird passive aggressive guilt-ridden emails, rude comments on FB, etc). We're ignoring it, because we're not in middle school. My real complaint is that I want to grumble about it a bit, at least to FI (because neither of us would mention it to anyone we know), but it makes him upset to talk about.

  • Complaint:  My tap dancing gif to entertain @shessocold didn't work.

WHY DOESN'T ANYTHING WORK THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO?!  EVER?!!!!

Also, I'm still hungover and there is a guy doing tile in our basement but it sounds like he's drilling directly into my skull.
  • Work is so slow during the summer and there is only so much interneting I can do. Also, I have a very annoying boss who won't leave me alone.

There is no Chipotle near my new house.

  • I never ever get enough sleep during the week because I have to wake up distressingly early for work. I am already ready to pass out for the rest of the day, but FI started a new job this week and he is having to deal with LA commuting, and being really really challenged at work for the first time in literally years, so I'm making his favorite meal tonight but that means I have to go to the grocery store after work and I don't wanna!
