Thankful Thursday

Morning ladies!  What are you thankful for this week?  I know its only Thursday, but any weekend plans?

I'm thankful for H...he can be handful sometimes but he is so funny, supportive and patient.

I'm thankful summer is finally here and I hope we get a good garden crop!

I'm thankful its almost the weekend...I want to see the new Jurassic movie.

-----------------------------------------

Weekend plans include working out, gardening some more, maybe going to some garage sales (stupid but I love those) and seeing the new Jurassic movie.  It looks so good!  We go to this great movie thearter where you sit in really plush seats that recline a bit and can eat and drink while watching the movie...you can pick your seats in advance too which H loves I don't drag him super early to the movies!  :)

Re: Thankful Thursday

  • I'm thankful for an H who is super caring and attentive to me right now. He is also pretty forgiving of me being really emotional and hormonal.

    I am thankful the weekend is almost here.

    Friday we have no plans. Saturday we are heading to H's parent's house for a BBQ. SIL willl also be in town for the weekend.  Then Saturday night we are heading to AC and will be there until Monday morning.  No specific plans while we are there other than to relax, gamble and celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  We have a nice brunch reservation on Sunday, otherwise we will just lay it by ear. I'm looking forward to having off Monday as well.   I really want to see Jurrasic World because dinosaurs but it won't happen this weekend, which is fine.  I'd rather wait until the crowds have died down.

    I LOVE that outfit @swazzle

    @Peaseblossom55 - Happy 1 year anniversary!

    @CocoBellaF - A GYN appointment at lunch does not sound fun.  Hugs.

    @caseface5 - Puppy snuggles = best ever
  • @minskat30 Thank you

    @swazzle I love the new outfit you look great.

    @cocobellaF definitely a post GYN treat at the bakery!!!

    Anniversary

  • @minskat30, @labro - That's exactly how my theater is too! Is yours AMC? H and I are going to see Jurassic World tonight and I'm bringing a blanket and we're having dinner and drinks while we're there :)

    @Swazzle We have a few different movie theaters that do it. AMC is one, and then we have a place called Studio Movie Grill and another one that's a "dinner theater" type of style. I love them! You press a button and someone takes your drink and food order. And I think what I love even more is the style of seating hides the people in front of you more so you can't see assholes who are on their phone all night.

  • @Swazzle how are the prices on StitchFix? I just looked up the website and seems like something I might be interested in, but I don't have too much to spend on things I don't actually NEED. Are the prices reasonable?

    Actually its an iPic theater.  I LOVE the idea of bringing a blanket!  Why didn't I think of that?  Going to steal that idea this weekend!

    @labro - I love the idea of the seating hiding the jerks with phones.  WTH do you go to a movie to be on your phone?  I had one guy in front of me once talking on the phone for like 10 minutes before I told him to shut it (H didn't want me to get into it with him but, seriously, I didn't pay to listen to someone else's conversation).
  • @Labro - Yes! That's exactly like mine. It's so awesome, I can never back to a normal theater. The chairs MAKE it.

    @TwoDimes - They're a little higher than I normally wear but I love wedges so much because they're the only heels that are comfortable and I can walk in them. These ones are Franco Sarto.

    @caseface5 - When I filled out my profile, I said I wanted the cheapest stuff in each category basically. I ended up keeping all 5 items this month which gave me a 25% off discount and then after the $20 styling fee I already paid, my total came to $148 for everything. I got 3 tops, jean shorts, and a bangle. Some items are a bit more than I would normally spend in a store but I love it because it gets me to try things I would never consider in a store and it saves me from having to actually go shopping. If you want a referral, let me know :)

    @minskat30 - Seriously, with the cost of going going to the movies nowadays, that screen has my undivided attention. I especially hate the people that continue talking through the previews -- which is my FAVORITE part.

    @GoldenPenguin - I can't wait for our movie date tonight and to discuss in great detail afterwards!

  • @Swazzle - That outfit is fabulous!  You look great!  I had never heard of Stitch Fix but I looked it up and OMG...I think I may need to invest.

    @CocoBellaF - Definitely a treat post-GYN.  I think that should be a requirement.

    I'm thankful for my parents.  Over the years I've watched my relationship with them change into the best kind of relationship an adult child could possibly have with her parents.  They are unflinchingly generous, thoughtful, helpful, and supportive, and I admire them so much.

    I'm thankful for Mr. H.  Even from 7500 miles away and with a crazy stressful job, he always does his best to make sure I'm cared for and knows how to make me feel better when I'm stressed.

    I'm thankful for hot yoga because it makes me feel like a badass.

    I'm thankful that, even though money is super tight and things are REALLY stressful right at the moment, I know that in a few weeks things will get a little better, and in a few months, I'll start a new job and can begin to take better care of my finances.

    Weekend plans are...not much.  Mom and I plan to start painting some furniture this weekend, and I want to get a good workout in at the gym and read a lot.  Hopefully it will be a quiet weekend.

    @swazzle - Happy 8th anniversary :) I love that shirt and also those shoes!!

    @labro - We used to go to Studio Movie Grill in Scottsale. I loved it. I definitely want to see Jurassic World at some point in the theater.

    My back is still bothering me but it does seem a little bit better than yesterday. Hopefully I'm back on track by Monday... I don't want to lose too much working out time!

    This weekend we're heading down to Richmond for my nephew's 4th birthday party. With the way our dog boarding works, we can't leave until 8am and have to be back by 4pm on Sunday, so it will be a quick trip. The birthday party is at a park, then we'll go to my parents condo to go swimming. Then I'm hoping we're going to the pro soccer game.

    @jenjen047 - Whoa, what happened to your shift and apostrophe keys?? ;)

    ======

    SO MUCH OF THIS. But without the cute winky face. I literally CANNOT.

    @GoldenPenguin I wish I could come and help you and @Swazzle garden every day!!!!

  • @Swazzle, I get a raise next month (which is like in two weeks!!) so I will check it out then and let you know. If I do decide to do it, I will most definitely take you as a referral!

  • @futuremrshistorian - Yea, I love it. This was my 9th one and last month was actually really bad, like the worst one I've ever gotten but they definitely made up for it with this month's. If you want a referral, let me know!

  • @swazzle love that whole outfit! I keep looking at stitchfix and can't figure out if it is worth it or not.

    @minskat30, @labro, & @swazzle -- I want a movie theater like that!!! The nicest one we have is an imax, but the seats are standard movie theater seats.  My other favorite is the local drive-in; might see Jurassic World there.

    I'm thankful for interns.  I wish I could have them year round since they take care of all the things I never have time to do.

  • @goldenpenguin @cu97tiger - im sorry :( when it comes to "personal" typing (aka anything not related to work/professional/formal communication) i dont use capitalization/apostrophes. but i use commas and periods so my thoughts are separated and not one rambling mess. :)
  • I'm not the best at proper punctuation, I will admit that, but I don't type different from work related to non work related. Your justification doesn't make any sense to me...at all.
    "Stuart was scared, but he loved Margalo, Mommy. And there is nothing bigger than love." -The Bean
     "His farts smell like Satan's asshole mixed with a skunk's vagina. But it's okay, because I love him." -CSousa

  • @eilis1228 - ah! sorry, hope i didnt give you any flashbacks! ;) i can imagine it could be an unpleasant place to work.

    @futuremrshistorian - i am so impressed with how well you and Mr H handle the distance. kudos to you  guys!!

    @goldenpenguin - i guess i just got into the habit because when i started out using a computer it was for personal stuff like AIM, so that was my default typing style. but then when i was typing a paper or something for school, i would use proper capitalization. ive just always had both styles, so its just "normal" to me and i dont even think about "switching" so to speak. i dont think of this as formal communication because i think of it as talking to friends. so i type in the same way i type to friends on gchat or facebook messenger. im sorry it annoys you, though.
