Finally! I'm so freaking excited!
Story: As you all know FI (AHHH!) and I went camping this weekend. One of our friends was supposed to come up later and meet us but while we were driving up she sent a text saying that she wasn't coming after all. But since we had asked her to come, I assumed he wasn't planning anything for this weekend but he had brought the ring with him anyway because he was thinking she would cancel on us. The whole drive up he was super anxious about finding a spot to camp in which I thought was weird just because usually I'm the one who is anxious about that sort of thing not him. We ended up getting the last spot in the campground because apparently lots of people go camping on the fourth of July. But it was a really great spot so we were excited about that.
Later that night we had a campfire going and were just chatting and listening to music. Then FI asked if he could change the song so I was like "Yeah, okay I don't care." So he changed it to Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat which is kind of our song. Then the conversation went like this:
Him: "This could be the first dance song at our wedding"
Me: "Well, it's kind of awkward to dance to"
Him: "Okay, well I guess we'll just have to use it for something else then"
Me (thinking): "What the heck else would we use it for? What is he talking about?" Then I look over to ask him this and he has the ring out and I just start saying "Are you serious?!" over and over again.
Him (laughing): "Yes, I'm serious. Will you marry me?"
Me: "Yes, obviously!"
And then kissing and hugging and me being super excited! So the rest of the weekend I was just like this:
We told our families today and they were all really excited for us, which is great because for some silly reason I was really anxious about telling people! We still have to tell FI's best friend though because she's being lame and not answering her phone!
